“Valerie was awesome! Our dogs were comfortable with her from the start. She was very communicative and we got updates daily so we could know how they were doing. Would recommend her to anyone!”

“The best dog sitter ever!! Not only did he accept my baby with VERY short notice but he treated him as if he was his own! 💙 Took him on multiple walks everyday and would send me picture updates of my Blue. 🐶 It was my first time using this app so I was very nervous but Joesiiah made me feel very comfortable and stress free. Will definitely book again when I’m in town. Thank you !!’”

“Mags was fantastic! Very quick with communication. She was accommodating to my drop/pick up times. Her house was very clean and the dogs she had were very socialized I would not hesitate to choose her again. If you need a sitter for a well behaved dog, please consider Mags.”

“Jourdan is so great with our pup Rose! Rose has tons of playtime, walks, pets, etc. We get some great photos too (ones that we save). She follows our requests for the sensitive tummy our pup has. Highly recommended :)”

“We would absolutely recommend Marie and her family! This is the 2nd time our girl Izzy has stayed with them and we always feel so comfortable that she’s having a great time and getting the love she deserves”

“River had a great stay. He’s a high-energy chocolate lab, and they handled him really well. We got consistent updates and photos without having to ask, which I appreciated. He looked comfortable the whole time and got plenty of playtime and walks. Communication was easy and they were flexible with timing and his collar setup. Everything felt really smooth. Already booked with them again.”

About: I have been around, and taken care of animals my whole life. Growing up, my mom fostered tons of dogs. Throughout the years I’ve administered vaccines and medications, bottle fed, cleaned up after, and even helped one give birth! I am well rounded when it comes to taking care of dogs. I am currently on summer break, so I will have lots of time to spend giving your pets the best care possible! I can also schedule my routine to best fit yours. I live in an apartment with a dog park and lots of good places to walk. I have one dog, so yours can have a friend to play with.
“Great communication and response time. My dog can be picky about being away from me but seemed to have a great time. Would definitely come back for further services!”

“Alyssa is communicative and accommodating. And, importantly, my dog is always calm and happy when I pick her up, which I take to be a great sign of being well cared for. Would rebook!”

“Fern had a wonderful time playing with your dogs. She will definitely stay again in future. She got lots of snuggles and I received updates with photos during her stay.”

“Alice was absolutely wonderful with James! She kept me updated with messages and adorable photos, and it was clear James was happy and well cared for. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Donna took great care of our boy Gideon (standard schnauzer). We really appreciated the frequent updates and pictures. We loved, knowing he was in great hands, got lots of walks, and had fun playing frisbee. We look forward to having her watch him again, her home is set up so nicely for her Rover stays.”

“Ashley and her family took such amazing care of Momo. She took cute pictures and sent me updates throughout the day which made me feel at peace. I could tell Momo had a great time at Ashley’s. He went for walks as well. I wholeheartedly recommend her and will reach out to take care of Momo again!”

“So happy to have found Angie! She’s very responsive and kind! She made sure to send updates and is always communicating quick and clearly. We felt very comfortable leaving Lola and she seemed to have a blast with their family and dog.”

“Ashley did a great job! We felt completely comfortable leaving our dog with her. We met previous to the stay and she was very professional. She kept us updated with photos, a video, and comments about how our dog was settling in. Great experience and we absolutely recommend her!!”
“Sarah is awesome! I contacted her when our normal sitter canceled just before we were about to drop our dog off and we were in a panic to find a sitter for the weekend, as we were on our way out of town. Sarah responded immediately and was so helpful in coordinating the drop off to make it as easy as possible. She is so sweet and our dog, Charlie, seemed to do very well with her. Thank you, Sarah, for stepping in a saving the day! We will definitely be using Sarah again!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Martindale
As always, Thomas and his family are great! First time watching our new puppy who also had a broken leg and everything went super smoothly. Couldn’t trust Thomas more and it’s great to have that relationship with him and not have to worry about our dogs during vacation!

This was our 4th time having Thomas watch our dog. It is hard to find someone you trust to watch your pet, especially for an extended period of time but we are very fortunate to have found Thomas. Our Knut is in amazing hands with him and I never have to worry or stress. Knut always comes back healthy and happy. Thomas is definitely our forever dog sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
