“I’m so grateful to have found Jill to keep an eye on my three kitties while I was away. I loved all the photos and updates she provided and appreciated her flexibility! Thank you so much!!”

“Laura was a very kind and attentive cat sitter! This was our very first time using a sitter and we were a little nervous about leaving our apartment and kitty in the hands of someone new. However, Laura was extremely communicative and went above and beyond to make the visits enjoyable for our cat. She was very competent and made me feel confident that our cat would be cared for and have his needs met. I also loved all the photos she took of him!”

“Meredith did an amazing job taking care of my Cat! She has great communication, provides a thoughtful update, and does a great job with pets. Highly recommend!”

“Paige took on 2 visits for 3 cats at short notice. What a hero! (And she had to administer medicine as well!) excellent, clear communication and lots of photos so I could see my kitties were being well taken care of. Thank you so much, Paige!”

“Rachel did a great job taking care of our cat while we were out of town. We loved getting our daily Pickles update and she was a happy cat when we got home!”

About: I grew up on a dairy farm, and have been around many different animals over the years. I started out pet sitting for friends of family members, and families in my local community in my spare time. I have also taken care of a few senior pets over the years by making sure they get their right medications and foods throughout my stay. I also help take care of farm animals, outdoor bird feeders, along with indoor and outdoor plant watering and care. I currently have two cats, Scooter and Goose and they are my world. I am currently working about 20-25 hours a week. My current job is very flexible with hours and time that would allow me to stop in a care for your pets. I am available to do a few days, with the possibility of extending that period of time. I would be able to stop in and care for your pets before I head to work for the day (roughly 4 to 8 hours regularly, but can be flexible) and again after I am done with work for the day before engaging in any activities or turning in for the evening. I am open to stopping in daily and caring for you pets in your home as I dont have much space while I am currently living in the city with roommates and multiple pets in our household. If your pet has a favorite park, or yard to play in, I would be happy to engage in their favorite activities hwith them in those places.

About: I grew up with cats, dogs, a bearded dragon, and a whole lot of fish. I have a soft spot for spicy cats as I have one of my own. Currently, live in a space where I can't have a dog but if I could it would be a loveable rescue who loves to play and to go on walks. I've taken care of many friends and family pets over the years and excited to make some new furry (and scaly) friends! Through the summer my schedule is very flexible. I work at an elementary school as a reading tutor so during the school year I am available late afternoons/evenings and weekends. I am organized, outgoing, and friendly and as long as you have detailed instructions I feel confident taking care of your pets in your home.
“Sara was a spectacular cat-sitter! We were gone for two weeks and she went above and beyond, bringing toys and a brush to spoil our cat every day. Our kids especially loved the assurance that came with the daily updates and many, many photographs. We will definitely try to book Sara again in the future!”

“Andrea is great! We were gone overnight and she made sure to accommodate our dogs' schedules, as well as tailoring the visit to fit their needs. We received visit updates complete with walk routes--I would highly recommend her!”
“Jenna was awesome! Really helped me out with a short notice need. Dropped in to visit with my silly border collie. Followed instructions and communicated perfectly and sent great pictures!”

About: I have over 2 years of experience working at dog daycares! With both cats and dogs. I currently have 2 dogs and 1 cat at home! I have experience administering medicine as I worked at a dog daycare in Fargo for 2 years. Additionally, I have experience de-escalating dangerous situations with animals and have been trained in animal CPR and first aid. I feed my cat at the same times every day and make sure to always find time to play with her. Pet care is naturally a part of my daily routine and I am very well organized and flexible enough to be able to add more. I would care for the pets in your home by following your instructions/guidelines and treating them how I would want my animals to be treated.
“Hannah was absolutely fantastic with our pups over the weekend! She did great with administering oral medication to our senior dog and arrived on time and stayed the full length of the visit for every visit. Our dogs love her and we can’t wait to book with her next time!”

“Kelsey was absolutely great! She sent me updates several times over the drop in visits, and sent me videos, and pictures. She did wonderful with my June Bug. Look forward to having her continue drop ins in the future!”

“I booked Danielle for a daily check-in with my two cats while I was on a trip. She sent pics of them every day and obviously they love her very much! I would definitely rebook with Danielle in the future!”

About: When my friends go on vacation, I am the first person they call to petsit! Animals warm up to my calm demeaner quickly, and I've been told by pet owners that their shy animals have never been so friendly to a new person so fast before. I have experience caring for cats & kittens, dogs, and birds. I am very patient and gentle with animals, seeking to understand their physical and vocal cues to know what they need. I am also an expert at playing fetch and tug of war with dogs, and my expertise with cat feather wands means the cat usually gets tired before I do. I love walking, so it's a bonus if your pup wants to come with! I am a graduate student at St. Thomas with a part-time tutoring job during the school year, so I have plenty of gaps in my schedule to care for your pet. This means that I can spend time during the day, night, and weekend with your pet, including returning home for potty or play breaks in between tutoring or classes, depending on the needs of your pet. I am also available to stay overnight with your pet, so long as they don't mind helping me with my homework! I am vigilant and aware while pet sitting, making sure I know where your pet is and never leaving any doors, gates, or windows open. For example, my friend lives in an apartment and has two kittens who like to escape into the hallway, so I also create a barrier when I open his front door to ensure they stay inside. His windows also don't have screens, so I make sure they are always shut and locked up tight. I love interacting with and talking with animals when they are around, so even if I am busy working on my own projects, I'll take frequent breaks to catch up with your pets and give them attention.
About: I am new to Rover, but I have many years of experience in taking care of animals. In addition to living with cats and dogs for most of my life, I have also volunteered as a dog walker at the humane society. In addition to pets, I also volunteered at the Wildlife Science Center with feeding animals such as foxes, raccoons, bobcats, a lynx, and skunks, and I had the opportunity to care for wolf pups at the International Wolf Center. I am recently retired, so my schedule is flexible. I am available during the day and most evenings and am able to work around your schedule. I currently have two cats and previously had dogs, so I understand the importance of keeping them on a regular schedule. Being around animals gives me joy, so I look forward to spending quality time with your pet. I follow your instructions and make sure to follow your pet’s lead when interacting with them. I send you pictures, so you can see how your pet is doing when you are away. I can also check mail and water plants if needed.
About: Hi! My name is Rae and I have experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages. I have experience administering medication as well. My past pets have included a Bengal cat and a senior cat with special needs. I do require proof of vaccination before confirming a service. I currently work from home and spend time with my senior special needs cat, Sierra. I love animals, and it's exciting to make new furry friends! Currently, my schedule is open and flexible. If my details don't match exactly what you are looking for please feel free to message me. I am happy to try to make something work. Since I rent an apartment, I will only care for your pet at your home. Cameras are ok but please inform me if I am being recorded. I will ask for the pet's food and walk schedule. I also ask for proof of vaccination.
About: bring fun, comfort and plenty of happy tail wags. I match each pup’s vibe with zoomies, cuddles or calm hangouts and make sure they feel loved and totally at home. I am working full-time but would love a walking buddy for my daily walks! We also have a lot of time to play and be outside, in the afternoons and weekends! I’m so excited to have a walking buddy, and explore more of the metro area by foot! I’m extremely loving towards animals and can’t wait to me your furry companion!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Saint Paul
Julie was fantastic! She clearly understands cat body language and genuinely enjoys spending time with cats, which was very important to us. Our cat, Pepper, is extremely social, and it was obvious Julie enjoyed visiting and playing with her. She also took so many adorable, high-quality photos during each visit, which gave us peace of mind and made being away from Pepper much easier. Julie followed all of our care instructions carefully, including Pepper's feeding routine, and kept the litter boxes clean throughout our trip. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for cat. We're extremely satisfied with Julie's care and wouldn't hesitate to book her again. She's someone you can absolutely trust to take excellent care of your cat.

I am undoubtedly an anxious mess when I leave my cats. Jill was so thorough, kind, and understanding! She did an excellent job of following my instructions to the T and provided lengthy comprehensive updates that eased my anxiety. I know my babies were in good hands! I would gladly book Jill again!

She went above and beyond with the feeding details and even scratcher positive reinforcement. She took great pictures and all 4 of my kitties liked her, which is not usually how 2 react to strangers! Klaus: "she gave me those crunchy greenies every day! Don't tell mom." Smudge: "She has the scent of a good heart. I won't bite this one." Vi-vi: "She let me eat all the food the others didn't want. She was so interesting to watch and follow around. Vanya: " I came out of hiding, because the others approved of her. I even got pets for my bravery!"

Kelsey was fantastic! Ollie and Lola loved her. She left the house in great shape and we had aproplem with a complaining neighbor (who always complains) that the dogs barked and Kelsey had too many dogs to walk so Kelsey spent the night! Very flexible. She sent photos! I'd hire her again in a heartbeat.
I knew from the get-go that Laura was a good fit for us and our pets. Our two kitties warmed up to her immediately. Laura provided regular, detailed updates with lots of photos and we felt confident that our cats and house were in good hands. They were happy when we returned and didn’t even seem upset that we were gone. Thank you, Laura - we hope you are available next time we’re out of town!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Saint Paul. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
