Pet care experience
New spring/summer availability
I come from a family of long-time dog owners--we've had Golden Retrievers, German Shorthair Pointers, and a Norwegian Elkhound. I don't have a pet of my own but would love to get to know yours! I enjoy taking care of my friends' dogs and would like more dogwalking and dog/cat sitting opportunities through Rover.com! I'm a calm and dependable person, perfect for making sure your pet is healthy and happy. I have lots of experience caring for older dogs. I've gained quite a bit of experience with cats through Rover - all personalities and needs! Recent breed experience: Pitbull, Boxer, Corgi, French and English Bulldog, Italian Greyhound, Labrador, Malamute, Miniature Schnauzer, Pug, Terrier, Great Dane, Whippet, St. Bernard, as well as many mixed breeds and various types of cats. *Please note: If you are looking for cat sitting only, my non-holiday sitting rate for one cat is $21 per 30-min visit. A cat in addition to a dog will normally not cost extra, unless the cat requires a lot more work. Thank you for your consideration! -photos by Erin Schoonover Photography I follow the owner's wishes as to routine and care for their pets. I check in about any questions or issues and provide photos and feedback for each stay.
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I can properly secure and handle dogs for walks, keeping them safe from other dogs walking nearby. I will check to make sure all pets are safe and secure during visits. For cats, I have administered ear medication as well as injections as needed.
Ratings and reviews
We can't say enough good things about Amanda. Our cat gets very anxious whenever we travel, so leaving him is always stressful for us too. Amanda made it easy. She was incredibly communicative, sent regular updates, and clearly cared about making our cat comfortable. It was a huge relief to know he was in such good hands. We'll definitely be booking Amanda again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter!
Wonderful as always!!
Amanda has been great with my 2 cats! She plays with them and sends me pics daily. Always happy with Amanda!
Excellent care of my cat!
Amanda took such great care of our cats while we were away! I got great photos during each visit and everything was so well taken care of while we were gone! One of our cats is very nervous and has never really come out for other sitters, but came out for Amanda each time which I think really speaks to how comfortable she made our cats feel during each visit! Couldn't be more appreciative and more happy with the care Amanda provided to our kitties! 😸
Amanda is great! She always sends pictures and spends time with my cats. They seem to really like her! It’s nice to not have to worry about them when I’m away knowing they’re in good hands.

- I love all breeds! I would like to know how your dog responds to other dogs, people, children, etc. It's helpful to know anything that makes your pet anxious, as well as what keeps them happy. For cats, I like to know their personality and any hiding places.
