“This was the first time Heather watched our 2 cats. She was very friendly, professional and thorough, asking us about several items that we had not considered. She was very conscious of things such as home security and backup contacts if there were to be a problem while we were gone. Heather sent great updates while we were gone with information on the cats and how they were doing. She was very attentive to all of our concerns and the needs of our cats. We absolutely would recommend Heather and will use her in the future.”

“Jill is so sweet and took great care of our kitties while we were out of town over the holidays! She was amazing about communication and we will absolutely use her again!”

About: Caring for pets has been a part of my life for a long time, through both pets of our own and foster pets! We’ve been fostering for the past decade and have cared for over 30 dogs and cats. I have experience with dogs with all kinds of personalities, including shy, anxious, and reactive. My favorite thing about animals is they all have their own personalities, and I love learning about who they are! My approach is to meet pets where they’re at and let them set the pace for our interactions, especially those who need a little extra time to feel comfortable with someone new. Senior dogs have an especially big place in my heart, as we have two of our own, and I’m very comfortable with the extra patience and care older pups sometimes need. I’ve also fostered and spent time with dogs of many breeds, sizes, and personalities, including bully breeds which are always welcome! I work a hybrid schedule with quite a bit of flexibility. I generally don’t work Sundays or Mondays, work from home most Wednesdays and Fridays, and am typically flexible throughout those days. I’m usually in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays, but am generally only away for 4–6 hours at a time and can often adjust my schedule with advance notice. Some of my work is event-based, so I occasionally need to be away for ~2 hours on an evening or Saturday morning. When I have an evening commitment, I make a point to spend more time at your home and with your pet during the day. For stays longer than 2 or 3 nights, I’ll occasionally stop by my own home to see my spouse and our own pets, for no more than a couple of hours at a time every other day or so. About 6 hours would be the longest I’d generally plan for your pet to be on their own, though this is the max and it would typically be less. During the meet and greet, we can talk through your pet’s specific needs and possible scheduling accommodations. I’m currently available for house sitting in your home, as well as walks and drop-in visits. We have a full house of our own (including fosters!), so I’m not offering boarding or daycare in my home at this time. I will treat your home as a guest in it; I’m tidy and will clean up after me and your pets! What is helpful for me to know is what your pet’s typical day looks like, if they have any favorite or important parts to their routine, and ways they like to get stimulation (walk, play, puzzles). Where do they sleep? As much information as you can tell me about your pet is better so I can keep things as normal for them as possible!
“Annie did a great job checking in on our two cats over a weekend we were going to be gone for long periods of time. I appreciate knowing they got some attention and care while we were away.”

“Stephanie took excellent care of our senior cat. Stephanie befriended our shy but super social cat during the meet and greet — she has the gift! I’m so happy our cat has a new bestie and I can confidently travel knowing she’s happy and cared for. Stephanie kept track of her eating and bathroom habits, and shared updates so we could adjust her meds. I loved the detailed daily updates and photos. I have the next visit booked already!”

“Jessica took great care of my pup, making sure she got enough play while I was away with friends so that she was ready to relax by the time I got home. Thanks, Jess!”

“Erin has been a huge blessing for us and our dog! She has always arrived right on time and has taken the time and patience to convince our older, anxious golden doodle to be friends. We are always nervous leaving our spoiled, attention seeking girl home alone but knowing Erin is stopping in for visits to play or have a potty break makes us feel more comfortable and relaxed knowing she's in good hands!”

“Paula was exceptional with our cats! She followed our instructions and was very responsive. She has extended experience caring for special needs kitties and has done an absolute incredible job with our ckd Salem who rewuired a lot of care. All the cats felt comfortable around her and always came out to greet and eat (even the shy ones). We are very grateful for Paula!”

“Paige was so sweet with our cats! She was patient and knew how to read their body language. She took the extra time to give them treats and pets and was very thorough. She provided detailed updates and pictures from her visits which were so fun to see while we were gone. Would definitely recommend!”

“Rachel did a great job taking care of our cat while we were out of town. We loved getting our daily Pickles update and she was a happy cat when we got home!”

“Carolyn is great with our cat Tess. She is also patient with all my directions for feeding my fur girl - I am grateful for that. I recommend her very highly.”

“Katrina took purrfect care of our two cats while we were on vacation! Very punctual, organized, and professional. It was a delight getting daily updates. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality care of their fuzzy companions.”

“Very patient with my cat! He is very shy but extremely loving. He doesn't do well with new people and Rozalyn took the time to make him comfortable during our time away! She is amazing!”

About: Growing up with multiple dogs in the home, I am comfortable with dogs of all ages, dog dynamics, sizes, behavioral needs, and medical cases. I have been trusted by my neighbors and friends to care for their furry family members for over 10 years now, with 2 years of experience in a dog daycare setting. I will take care of your pups like they are my family. I work full time at the Animal Humane Society, with most afternoons and weekends off, and a lunch break that can be used to check in on your furry family. I have a car, and am also equipped with the basic care needs, aside from a crate. I clean up after any messes and make sure your family has everything needed before leaving.
“Madeline was great! I had a last minute need for a drop in visit and Madeline was very quick at responding and accommodating. My cat does not like other people but he came out of hiding when Madeline visited which speaks volumes!”

Monika is great! We look forward to booking her again in the future. We, and the cats, loved having Monika check in. The cats gave her rave reviews. They were so well cared for while we were away. Our older cat got the support and her medication that she needs. Our younger shy cat came each time she stopped in, and seemed to really enjoy her visits. Monika was great to send pictures and updates to us. We appreciate Monika and her reliable and outstanding cat care!

Heather is an absolute gem to work with. 💜Her energy is so warm and inviting, I knew right away she was the sitter for my cat. She bring a calming, soothing presence that I know her animal, and human, friends appreciate! Thank you so, so much, Heather! ~Carrissa, Tom, Sage

We’ve used Jessica several times, and she’s been fantastic every time. She’s consistently available on short notice, always punctual, and very polite. Even though we’re not home during her visits, our hairless cat, who is extremely selective about people, comes out to see her and happily lets Jessica pet her. That alone says a lot. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

This was the 3rd time Carolyn cared for my cats while I was away, and she continued to be great. I especially appreciate the persistence through some access issues (my fault). I always get great notes and tons of photos... Thank you Carolyn, for letting me travel knowing my babies are safe.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
