About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats since I was a kid, have several cats at my home in West Tacoma, and love spending time with dogs of friends and family. I live in West Tacoma and have availability weekdays and weekends in mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Open for mid-day visits and walks, short or long term sitting, and more. I have cats in my home (and sometimes foster kittens) so I’m very familiar with helping cats get comfortable in new spaces or around me for the first time. Careful around open doors, clean and tidy, and respectful of your space!

“My doggie loves her walks with Emily! Emily consistently ensures that she gets a good walk with plenty of time to sniff and enjoy time outside.”

About: Hi there! :) I’m passionate about taking care of animals and always make sure they feel comfortable when they’re with me. I've helped raise a labradoodle and terrier for over five years. I’ve been around dogs and puppies most of my life so I’m completely comfortable with them, large or small. I’ve also taken care of dogs with bigger personalities and also much more tame ones. I’m extremely patient around any dog and always go out of my way to make them feel comfortable. I work full-time and am mostly remote. My schedule is also very flexible. I finish work on the weekdays at 4pm, and my WFH schedule allows me to watch your furry pal during/after my shift. I know that it can be tough to leave your pup overnight or under someone else’s care so I always communicate with my clients updates or photos of their pups. My biggest priority is also to make sure your pup is comfortable with me. They’re welcome to relax on my couch or bed if they’re staying at my home. I’m available anytime before or during a booking for any questions you may have!

“Our Goose loves Laura and we are super happy to have her as a resource as well (for now and the future!) She’s flexible, chill & friendly and responds very quickly to any messages. We truly appreciate her :)”

About: I bring a great big heart to the table when it comes to our animal friends. Dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, budgies, fish…I am happy to provide nurturing care for them all as if they were my own. I specialize in in-home stays, drop-ins and doggie walks. In-home stays are treated as if I live there, never leaving for very long at a time. I find this is extremely beneficial for fur babies who have separation anxiety, providing a calm presence and a bonding experience that provides smooth, low stress transitions. I am comfortable caring for seniors and those who are ailing. My experience includes caring for personal pets all my life as well as those of friends, family, and professional clients. I have been there for many journeys, loving them from the time they come into my life all the way to holding vigil as they cross over the rainbow bridge. I am quite an observant person, tuning into their needs and often noticing when something is off or perhaps they are not feeling well. My experience volunteering at a wildlife rescue honed this a bit when needing to observe and take weekly notes on behavior and eating habits of the animals in for rehabilitation. These notes helped doctors track recovery time and make any changes needed to their care. Through this experience I've learned how precious a life is, no matter how big or small it may be. Current furry family members include 5 guinea pigs. My family had to say goodbye to our beloved 15 year old dog last summer and our hearts are still aching. “Christie has taken care of our two dogs and cat, providing a walk when we are away for a long day and overnight house and pet sitting. She is great! She is very reliable and responsive and most importantly, she seems to really care about our pets and their well being while we’re gone. She always leaves our house clean and our critters happy when she leaves! One of our dogs is pretty nervous with people and Christie’s patience and calm presence makes us feel better leaving her with someone because we know she’s in good hands! She is very attentive to all of the pets, is an excellent communicator and provides us with lots of updates while we’re away which we always appreciate!” ~ Laura K. I currently freelance, which offers freedom in my schedule to care for your fur baby in your home or out for walks to smell all the smells in the neighborhood during the week or on the weekends. I am neat and tidy, honest and conscientious. You will receive regular check-ins with pictures via text. If they happen to be having a particularly joyful moment I try to capture video to send. I am there to let them know they are not alone and their needs will be met with nurturing and kindness. Sometimes just being present in the house gives a pet peace of mind.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with Kallie. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our dogs love her visits and attention. She is the cream of the crop.”

“Mollie's been walking my two dogs twice a week for a couple of weeks now, and it's been great! She was very thoughtful in the initial meeting and follow up, making sure she knew what the discipline and activity goals are for each of them. The girls are calmer when I get home at night and it's a lot of peace of mind knowing how well they're taken care of by her. Highly recommend.”

“Alyssa was great with my two dogs and very accommodating with scheduling walks with them. She is prompt, reliable and provides great communication. Loved receiving daily pictures of them having fun while I was out of town. Thanks so much!”

About: I've also had dogs for most of my life, but I think I really gained a love and understanding with my own dog I got 2.5 years ago as a puppy. Raising a puppy has given me a whole new appreciation for dog training and having a well-behaved puppy! I haven't done much senior care of dogs, but I have worked in human Healthcare and always had a special appreciation of older patients who required certain care, so it's not outside of my realm of comfort to provide extra care. I also understand that when training dogs you need to maintain consistency and as long as your commendas/needs are expressed, I will uphold those standards for you. I am not currently working so I have a lot of flexibility in my day to provide care. Currently I manage my own dog with walks, food, potty breaks, and enrichment every day. When my husband is gone for work I manage the feeding, enrichment, and litter box cleaning for our cat as well. I have a fenced yard and access to dogs parks as well as live in a quiet neighborhood for adequate walks. My home does have stairs that are required for access, but we have lots of beds and couches for pups to get comfy on. I also have plenty of toys and treats for enrichment. We have a large koi pond in the yard, so dogs staying with us do need to have good enough recall to be called away from the pond, they should not want to jump in at sight. In the client's home I'm willing to play/provide enrichment, training, and walks in the neighborhood, or whatever the normal routine is.

About: I have 10+ years of personal experience caring for pets and 1 year of professional care experience working with animals in a veterinary setting. I have experience with dogs with additional medical and behavioral needs. I am willing to work with reactive dogs. I have some experience caring for puppies and am willing to follow any training plans that a pet parent may have. At this time, I am unable to provide boarding services in my own home for dogs over 60 pounds. I am currently available for drop-ins and walks throughout the day, house-sitting, drop in boarding and overnight boarding in my own home. My schedule is very flexible. I treat any client’s pet as if they are my own, with the utmost care and respect. I think every pets needs and happiness are worth fulfilling and give my best to every animal during our time together. At this time, I am only able to offer dog walking care to dogs over 60 lbs on a case by case basis.

About: I've been pet sitting for the past decade for family and friends as well as those I've been recommended to. Every pup has their unique personalities and I've loved meeting every one. I work from home, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I only host one family at a time and I'm quick to communicate dates, times, and availability. I have a fenced yard, so your pup can roam free! There are no restrictions on furniture either, so they can cozy up all they want to. Not a very busy place, can be nice for those older pups or ones with anxiety. Hosting one fam at a time really gives me the opportunity to control the environment & ensures they are my prime focus.

“Marissa is the best dog sitter! She truly loves dogs and took such great care of my pup, Charlie. He stayed with her and her husband Doug for 10 days once, and another time for 7 days. Charlie had the best time—he went to the dog park, visited the market, and even got to sleep in bed with Marissa and Doug (his favorite!). He also loved playing with their sweet little dog, Walter. They have a totally fenced yard, so I felt very safe leaving Charlie with them. I highly recommend Marissa to anyone looking for a warm, caring sitter!”

Brianna P.

“Drew housesat and took care of our cat Khan earlier this year. He was well cared for and the house was clean and tidy when we got back. She also called if she had any questions regarding Khan's care and the same applied to the house. We would use her again for pet or housesitting.”
Ruston dog parents share their Rover experiences
Thank you so much for your help in an emergency situation. Boo seemed to take to you very easily and was happy to see you!

Emily was punctual and very easy to communicate with. She took great care of my dog and I would highly recommend her services.

Haley has a clear and obvious enthusiasm for interacting with dogs, both of mine bonded with her pretty much immediately and were particularly ccalm when we got home. She also refilled the water bowl after the walk without me asking which was a great touch.

Alyssa was timely, communicative, detail oriented and very sweet with our mini golden doodle! She provided great details about their time together and he was a happy tired boy afterwards. We will definitely be booking with Alyssa again!

John was so great and a huge help to us. He was very fast to reply to our last minute dog walking request, arrived on time, is great at communication and very kind. Our 80 lbs Doberman loved him and I knew she was safe in his hands. I also liked that John had experience with big dogs since he has a husky! We will definitely be using John again. Rooney gives two big paws up! 🐾

On time. My dog loved her. He was jumping and twirling right when he met Kelsie, and she handled his puppy behavior nicely.

Deborah took great care of my dog. She was very communicative during her visits and made sure my dog was safe and happy! I really appreciated her

Dani is amazing with Summit! And definitely has a way with animals. I highly recommend her, and look forward to summit visiting with her again!

Breanna is very reliable, a great communicator, and a very pleasant person to deal with. She took great care of our pups while we were away on vacation :) We would definitely utilize her services again!
Bri is absolutely amazing!!! She take wonderful care of my little girl. Shakti loves her walks with Bri. I have so much peace of mind knowing Shakti is in great hands. She is a rescue & can be high energy & reactive. Bri handles her with grace & expertise. Can't recommend her enough.

Jessica came to the rescue when I (last minute) asked her to stop by and let my pups out of the house when I couldn’t get there to give them a mid-day break. She was so kind to do this the day before Thanksgiving. The dogs were happy and we had no accidents on the floor when we got home.

Baylee has been a great addition to my Rover sitter team. She’s trustworthy, communicative, and Ruby clearly loves her time with Baylee.

Cannot say enough good things about Lucy. Ya know how there are some people that you instantly feel comfortable with? Like you meet them and you instantly know they are just a good human. Well - that's Lucy. From the moment she walked in the door and sat down on our floor to meet the dogs, you could just tell she was the type of person who was going to love and take care of your pets like they were her own. And she did. The dogs absolutely loved her. She was super communicative and reliable. And she made sure to check in with our elderly mother who lives with us (but is not mobile enough to take the dogs out herself) and just went above and beyond to make sure the whole experience was smooth and comfortable for everyone. Wish she was still in our area (but wishing only good things for her in this new chapter). Thank you, Lucy!
