Our guy is pretty anxious (separation and in general), to the degree that we couldn't even hand him over to someone to try a temperament test at an open boarding/daycare place. Joerg and Lake have been willing to work with us on gradually desensitizing him - giving him space and time to get used to them and their pup Lizzie at his own pace. They have a system for slowly introducing new dogs to their space, themselves, and Lizzie which really worked! After first doing a meet and greet in a park, a week later we did a 6 hour daycare session which exceeded my hopes - he allowed Joerg and Lake to handle him / pick him up (something no stranger has managed to do since we got him 5.5 months ago), and went on walks with Lizzie with no issues. Very pleased with how things went, and how kind and communicative Joerg was throughout. We will definitely be booking some more sessions to hopefully work our way up to boarding in future!”

We've also pet-sitted for friends and family on a near weekly basis for years, caring for the biggest to the smallest the animal kingdom has to offer us nature lovers! We also have access to two nearby vets in case of emergency! Plus, given that both my girlfriend and I work from home 5 days a week, your pet will never be left alone as someone will always have eyes on them.

About: **I have a lil animal loving 4 year old. She’s very chill with both cats & dogs, but just a disclaimer in case it’s an issue.** My friends always joke that I’ll cross the street just to pet a dog. I love animals, especially dogs. My mother is a dog trainer (specializing in bully breeds) so I’ve always had a bunch of pups around to play with and I learned a lot watching her interact with dogs. My dad was a dog lover as well so we always had at least three dogs. I’ve been a part of quite a few births (the black lab in my photo is from one of the litters, he’s my baby and I’ve raised him since birth.) I went cross country for college and when I came back home it only took me a few interactions to teach him tricks like, “paw” “roll-over” and my favorite “hang-ten” which is basically just an advanced “paw.” I promise you that I will treat your dog as well as you do (he/she might like you more though) but I’ll give your dog(s) all the love and care a pup deserves. Maximum playtime or we can hit the snooze button but I’ll make sure that your dog never feels blue. I also love cats and have been lucky to have had them around for my whole life, with my last sweet girl passing away two years ago. My heart can’t take getting another cat yet but I love being able to scratch behind some ears and get some pets in with so many lovely cats through Rover. I used to care for cats in shelters (still periodically volunteer) and having the keep them in their cages made me super sad beca use they are just tiny big cats and they need space to roam. I love the different and very distinct personalities of cats and I’m always down to hear or share a fun cat fact. I firmly believe that cat’s feet should be call “peets” because they are cute little paws/feet. I’d be absolute honored to care for any and all “little cats” 🦁 **I gladly welcome and love every animal! I’ve been around dogs my entire life, including a wide array of breeds and varying across experiences of ownership, temporary care, and formal fostering. My passion for dog care and their well-being can be summarized by the underlying core principle: humans are responsible for being our dog’s most reliable and knowledgeable steward. That core tenet has informed everything from how I’ve approached formal training lessons with my most recent dog adoption at 3 months old (now 7) to how I converse with strangers who are hungry to learn more about their own pets. Understanding how our dogs speak to us in their own way is the key to their/our success. Being knowledgeable about the ways in which each kind of dog benefits from a variety of enrichment styles is a must. Any dog I come into contact with receives the love, respect, and responsibility with which I treat my own—ample exercise, safe spaces, and lots of affection and reassurance. I am very active and would willingly walk or run with your pet. I am very experienced with stubborn older dogs that don’t always accept their medication. I am also quite strong (regular lifter) and can happily carry your dogs up and down flights of stairs if needed. Whatever need or desire may arise in the care of your furry family member, I will be happy to go above and beyond! I’m currently working from home full-time, so I have wide open availability to both board your pets or perform check-ins whenever needed! I have a fenced in yard and two friendly and sweet fur babies (dogs) to keep your baby company. I am also accustomed to working with dogs who need to be separated (my foster training) and have plenty of space if that’s what your pet needs! I can run, walk, or play with your pets as desired/required. You name it, I can provide it!
