“Dana and Nia are truly exceptional pet sitters — caring, understanding, and the kind of people who instantly put you at ease about leaving your furry family member in their hands. Our dog Kippy can be quite a handful. He has a nervous temperament and takes time to warm up to new people, but Dana and Nia were incredibly patient. They took the time to really get to know him, and it showed — Kippy was visibly comfortable and at ease with them, which honestly says everything. On top of that, they were wonderfully flexible and gracious when we ran late, never making us feel rushed or guilty. That kind of warmth and understanding goes a long way. If you’re looking for pet sitters who will treat your little loved ones like their own, look no further. We couldn’t recommend Dana and Nia more highly!”

“Alyson was amazing! She sent lots of pictures and updates while watching my cat and it was clear he was having a great time. She asked questions and was super responsive - would definitely recommend booking with her and I will book again!”

“Helen was a great dog sitter. She kept us informed of throughout our dog’s stay and sent lots of pictures of Maggie. She kept her company and took her for walks. Maggie was well cared for which made us very happy while we were away from her.”

“We’re so glad Sarah and Ben were able to care of Blu at the last minute for a few days. Thank you both for taking such great care of him knowing how anxious he gets in a new place. They’re very patient and made him feel right at home. Sarah kept me posted with updates and photos too. We know Blu had fun!”

“Our dog had a great time with Dan and his dog Annie. We were able to drop her off pretty last minute too so I couldn’t recommend Dan enough if you need a dog sitter!”

“Hieu was fantastic. She kept my wife and I up to date the entire weekend on how our pup was doing with pictures to match. She was responsive to our requests and reached out for confirmation on how we would like her to handle something whenever there was a question about the dog. Our dog came home happy and relaxed from a fun weekend with Hieu.”

“Thank you so much again . Fantastic host . My little friend was super happy in his new home for 5 days . I wi definitely used them again and recommended everyone🐶”

“Vanessa took wonderful care of my dear Clementine. Clementine was very happy in Vanessa's care. I'm very grateful for how well cared for Clementine was with Vanessa!”

“Rhiannon's home and her care of Marx (our Bernedoodle) created an extraordinary experience, for him and us. Rhiannon's beautiful home is 100% dog-friendly, with built-in companionship for your dog from her friendly pug and a loving family. The large fenced backyard brings joy and exercise. Rhiannon's affection for her guest canines is strong and attentiveness to their temperaments is finely tuned, inspiring complete confidence. Rhiannon is an exceptional resource for your and your dog's needs.”

“Brooklynn and Adam are amazing!! My dog is anxious and leash reactive, but he had no problems staying with Brooklynn. She made sure to walk him in quiet areas during less busy times, and her home is quiet and peaceful, which I'm sure helped Monty a ton. She had no problem giving him two different medications every morning, and he got so much love all weekend. We got so many pictures of Monty snuggling with Brooklynn and Adam - so cute! It was like he went to the spa for the weekend - we would love for her to watch Monty again!”

“Dusty had a great time with Julie, and she was terrific. Warm and caring, really great communication throughout Dusty’s stay, which is always much appreciated. Flexible and understanding on a traffic delay I had coming to get her. Would definitely have Dusty stay again and highly recommend to anyone else looking for quality care for your pup!”

“Steven was phenomenal. He sent us daily updates and photos, and it was clear Carly felt completely at home. She came back happy, relaxed, and well-cared for. Truly an exceptional experience.”

About: I’ve grown up with animals my whole life! I currently have 2 cats and help my parents with their 3 dogs and 3 cats. I have a lot of experience administering dogs medication- pills, ointments, eyedrops, etc. My 2 cats will be around during host stays they are extremely friendly and welcoming to other cats regardless the age. I’m currently working from home so I am almost always around the animals! Small grocery trips or going out to meals but never away for longer than 4-5 hours usually just 1! No outdoor cats- I keep cats fully indoors and they have no access to get out, plenty of locked window to bird watch from inside. I have a small NOT fenced in area in my backyard and a lot of nearby parks and walking routes, every dog MUST have a harness or collar preferably a harness so they are unable to get out of it and a leash for walks. No unsupervised outdoor times and a bathroom break minimum every 3 hours, more if needed of course

“Morgan took the best care of my dog. She was communicative, friendly, and super quick in response. My dog needed a few days of a slower pace in walks/plays after a recent paw injury and Morgan was able to provide the needed attention. Her dog is a well behaved, trained, smart too so I felt confident the pups would get along. I would absolutely recommend Morgan to anyone and will be disappointed if she wasn't available next time I need a sitter. Thank you, Morgan!”

“Alan and Ying were great! They took excellent care of Nori, and we had regular updates. Nori loves playing with their dogs and from updates, she had a ton of fun.”

“My dog Tayto loves going to stay with Jason and Noah! He is clearly so happy and comfortable there that he runs to their door when we arrive. Jason sends the best photos and videos throughout his stay. Tayto can’t wait until next time!”

“Ruya and Berg are a great pair of dog sitters, our pup is always so comfortable in their home. Friendly, good people that love dogs. I would highly recommend.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Quincy
Stephanie and Michael were excellent. He came home tired and happy. Didn’t even seem excited to see me which makes me think he didn’t want to leave! Lots of love and play time. He needs meds and has to go out frequently because he’s a senior dog and they took excellent care of him! Will be our go-to dog sitters from now on!

Fenn spent the day with Colleen because my apartment was doing a prolonged fire alarm testing while I was at the office. I wanted him to have a safe and quiet place to be. I’m so glad I decided to do that. I got two pictures and Colleen communicated with me throughout the day. I know he received loving care and would definitely leave him in her care again and highly recommend her.

I just can’t say enough about Jenny and Henry. Not only are they wonderfully warm and kind people, they are dog whisperers extraordinaire which is key for our anxious little Otto. Furthermore, Henry is a chef who enjoys cooking for people AND dogs! Looks like he turns out gourmet fare for the pooches. Will definitely be using their services again! Amazing quality care & training.

This was our second time having Alicja watch our pup, Toasty, and we are just so grateful for her and how well she cares for our dog!! She is just simply the best, a true animal lover; sends lots of updates and photos, and makes sure Toasty feels warm and welcome!

We had a wonderful first experience! Our dog can be a little sensitive and takes some time to warm up to new people, but she followed all of my instructions carefully and took great care of him throughout the day. She also sent frequent video updates, which really helped me feel comfortable and reassured. I truly appreciated her patience and attentiveness, and I would definitely trust her with our dog again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
