“John is our favorite dog watcher! He always treats our dog so amazingly and sends wonderful updates to keep us in the loop and connected. We HIGHLY recommend John!”

“Jason was great with our dog Calvin. It's always hard finding a new sitter (we just moved to Boston), but Jason was probably one of the best we've ever used on Rover. He communicated multiple times a day, sent photos of our buddy and asked questions when he had them. Calvin had a great time with Noah, his new bestie, and settled in much faster than he usually does. We know Calvin looks forward to his next stay with Noah, and so do we!”

“Ruby is awesome! My dog Tucker has separation anxiety and she was so patient and sweet with him and accommodating for me. She sent lots of pictures and videos and messages during the time to keep me posted as well. Highly recommend!”

“Our dog Tula loved Matias! Kind person, great communication, and even had handmade treats to give to the pups. Overall very positive experience!”

“Brooklyn watched our Sydney for a quick overnight. She was very kind and responsive. Very accommodating of our pup's schedule and needs. We felt very at ease knowing she was in good hands”

“Dakota and Jax had a great stay with Jing! I felt happy and confident knowing they were having a great time through getting pictures sent throughout the day of the doggies playing. She has a great yard for the dogs to play in and set up a meet and greet before so they dogs could meet her and her husband!”

“Emily was wonderful with our little schnoodle Theo! We had forgotten to book a sitter when heading out of town for the weekend and Emily was very welcoming and flexible with scheduling the last minute booking. She took great care of Theo and was very accommodating of our unpredictable timing driving back through traffic ti get home to Boston. I would definitely recommend her and book with her again in the future!”

“Great communication! We booked last minute for a quick weekend getaway and Madison kept us informed the whole weekend and was very responsive. Zora seemed very well loved from the photos and when we picked her up!”

“Brendan is an absolute sweetheart with my dog’s best interest as his first priority. He’s already booked for a second stay this month - I could feel their new bond the second I picked Wally up and it made me so happy. Your dog is in excellent hands with Brendan!”
“JP is always wonderful with my dog, Kiyo! He sends regular check ins with pictures and Kiyo comes home happy and tired. When it’s time to see JP, Kiyo is full of excitement to spend time with JPs family, including their dog Indie.”

“We recently left our Cavapoo, Elsa, with Oscar and Gaelle for almost a month, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! This was our first time leaving Elsa with someone else, and they made us feel so at ease. Oscar and Gaelle absolutely spoiled Elsa with toys, attention, and care. They kept us updated with regular videos, and it was clear Elsa was having a great time with plenty of walks and playtime. Elsa also loved the company of their dog, Caline, and it was heartwarming to see them bond. The care and attention they gave Elsa went above and beyond—her fur was beautifully brushed, and they even gave her a shower! We felt completely at peace knowing Elsa was in such loving hands. We would 100% trust them with Elsa again and highly recommend them to any pet parent looking for a reliable and caring boarder. Thank you, Oscar and Gaelle!”

“Kathryn was amazing! Extremely easy to communicate with, took the time to get to know and ask about my dog's needs and took great care of her for a weekend. I received daily updates and pictures and could tell she was well cared for. I would definitely both recommend and book with Kathryn again!”

“Lynne was fantastic with Freddie and us! Flexible + caring for Freddie and a great communcator for the parents. She sent photos and kept us up to date on how things were going with the overnight. Would highly recommend!”

“Ruya was very communicative and responsive from the beginning. We would definitely book again. Ashlynn was well taken care of and we got lots of pictures of her!”

“First time booking Winn, but very impressed! Easy and flexible communication, and I appreciated the chance for a meet and greet before the booking date to touch base in person. Will definitely be booking Winn again!”

“Kylie was so wonderful!! She was sent lots of pictures and updates during the stay! She quickly responded to messages and pick up/drop off were a breeze! Our dog came home happy and seemed to miss her new friend! Highly recommend Kylie!”

“As always, Ashley took such good care of our dog, Ginger! She kept us in the loop and sent us plenty of pictures! Ginger is looking forward to her next stay with Ashley and Kevin already!”

“Jamie was incredibly sweet and welcoming from the start making sure Cosmo felt comfortable during the meet-and-greet as well as his stay. Her adorable pup Luna played such a big role in helping Cosmo settle in quickly, and before we knew it, he was completely comfortable with their family. Usually Cosmo prefers staying in his crate while boarding, but with Jamie’s family he became so relaxed that he preferred their bed instead, which truly showed how safe and loved he felt there. Jamie also kept us updated regularly, giving us so much peace of mind. This is honestly the fastest I’ve ever seen Cosmo warm up to a family, and we’re definitely looking forward to many more stays. Highly recommend Jamie and her wonderful family for anyone looking for loving care for their furry buddies!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hull
It was our very first time using Rover. We typically leave him with family when on vacation but it did not work out this trip. Kevin made us feel very comfortable with us leaving Mochi in his hands. He was a great dog sitter! He was responsive, took great care of Mochi, and sent pictures throughout the stay. We would happily book with him and his boys again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
