“Rowan is super kind and reliable. Our pets both liked him inmediately, plus he dealt with an 80+ lbs recently adopted lab who pulls pretty hard and has SO much energy super well. Very appreciated!”

“I’m so glad I found Angela to help walk my very particular little cattle dog/chihuahua mix. He was getting too overstimulated at daycare and this has been a great switch. Angela is super communicative, sends great updates and pictures, and always makes sure Alfie has a fresh bowl of water and has settled down comfortably before she leaves. 🙂”

About: We are a loving household comprised of myself, my husband, our two kiddos and two sweet hound dogs. Frito is a yellow hound/lab mix who loves to sleep and hang with his family. Bacca is a coonhound with the attitude to match! He likes to express himself often and loudly, but can be a very chill guy once he's gotten his sniffs in. Both are friendly towards all kinds of other dogs. We have experience with dog sitting in our home and we have in the past fostered deaf dogs (through Deaf Dogs of Oregon rescue) while they are found their forever homes. Our house isn't large, but the dogs are basically in charge and we like it that way (they are our kids, along with our human kiddos!) We have a large fenced back yard for the pooches to run in as well. About this sitter: My husband works outside the home and my main job is stay at home mom to my two kiddos (so I'm home a lot!).I love hanging out with my dogs and kids most of the time. We like to hang out in the big back yard. My hubby is a big help with the dogs as well. Why I love dog sitting Both my husband and I grew up loving dogs. My family always had two or three dogs on my parents' 4 acre homestead. We always had big dogs, and a few wiener dogs. They were always part of the family. My husband Justin rescued our late dog Jughead when he was a puppy from a neglectful home, and trained him up to be an awesome dog, who we still miss very much. We adopted our dog Frito together when he was 8 weeks old and he's grown up in our care a very good boy. Our coonhound Bacca is good at very loudly expressing himself (especially when you first meet him!) but he really just wants to be everyone's friend and get pets and okay. About my yard We have a large backyard, about 1/3 of which is covered. The rest is open, with large pine and cedar trees in the back third of the yard near the back fence. We have couches that the dogs often run around, and over when they are playing. There isn't much grass (it won't grow) and the dirt gets a bit dusty when its dry. The dogs like to run, play, and lay out in the sunshine. I am a stay at home mom currently so I'm very flexible with accommodating your dogs needs. I'll be available for drop in visits and walks during the week while my kids are at school, and more often on the weekends if your pet is friendly around children. I have a large fully fenced back yard and two dogs too keep your dog company. I can also easily crate your dog if needed.

“Jenni is great. She has helped us get our high energy dog out for walks while we are at work. She is patient with our little pup, and he always seems happy on days they walk. She always takes great pictures of our dog, and is very communicative about what is going on with our dog. Would definitely recommend her.”

About: I currently work at Petsitter Portland, and am spending my weeks (5 days a week for around 3-5 hours a day anywhere between 7am-3pm) hanging out with amazing pets! Animals have always been a meaningful part of my life. I’ve raised and cared for multiple dogs, cats, chickens, and ferrets over the years, and currently share my home with 4 dogs, 2 kittens, and 3 chickens. Because I’ve grown up around animals, I’m very comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether that’s going on walks, playing, giving extra cuddles, or simply keeping them company so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and your home, and I care for both with the same attentiveness and respect I give my own :) I'm currently going to college online, and so my schedule is completely free for taking care of your little ones! I am available any time of day every day of the week Your pets and your home are deeply personal, and I take that responsibility seriously. I prioritize safety, clear communication, and consistency in every stay. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, home routines, and any specific care notes you provide. I’m attentive to changes in behavior or health, keep doors and gates secure, and treat your space with complete respect and privacy. My goal is for you to feel fully at ease while you’re away, knowing your pets are safe, your home is cared for, and everything is being handled with thoughtfulness and integrity
“Nicole did a great job taking my dog for walks/play at the park. I came home to a happy tired pup. She’s a good communicator, quickly responds to any questions, and reliably showed up when agreed upon. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Natalie has been great with my dog Noka and Noka sure loves her midday walks with her. Natalie is also more than willing to spend a few extra minutes with her on days that Noka really needs it (provided her schedule allows) which is appreciated so much!”

About: i was raised around dogs my entire life. i have a pup who is 3 years old who is like my baby. i know what it is like to have an animal that you love like a child & i want to help others out by treating their dogs like they’re family (: i am a stay at home mama at the moment. i have 3 years of experience working at a dog boarding and grooming shop as a kennel assistant 🤍 i have 2 fenced yards that are big enough for the doggos to run around in. there are many toys at my house for the dogs to play with and even have 2 friendly dogs for the pups to play with as well. my puppy is pretty active and wants to play constantly, she loves the comfort of another animal.

About: One of my passions in life is pets and caring for them. As a graduate from Carrington College in veterinary assisting I learned valuable skills such as understanding animal behavior, CPR, nail trims and administering medications. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hampsters, lizards, fish, frogs and feel comfortable with nearly any type of pet. What I bring to pet care is a strong connection to animals, I feel a sense of responsibility and need to care for them and be their new best friend. I will always talk to pets & their owners when I see them on a bus, walking down the street, or in an outside restaurant. I am vegan, as I feel that all animals should be treated well. I do not impose my views on anyone but am happy to talk about it and offer advice if asked. OUTSIDE REVIEWS Heather took care of my young and active miniature Australian Labradoodle Maggie for 3 nights. She stayed at my home and did an amazing job. I came home to a calm and happy dog and my house was just as I left it . Maggie loved her and she loved Maggie. I felt 100 % confident that she was in good hands. She has experience with animals, loves them and has even had vet tech training in the past. Previously, when I left Maggie with a sitter for 3 days she didn’t eat and lost a pound, but with Heather she was just as I left her. I was delighted. Heather gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I am free just about any time and duration, and can go anywhere that Tri-Met can take me if it's an hour or less travel time. I will take your dog to a park if it's within walking distance, or walk around the neighborhood, or play/run around in the yard or house as well.
About: I've been passionate about animal care ever since I started my first pet-sitting business at 15. I still remember my first clients: A family with an older cat and a family with two pomeranian puppies. While I love dogs and can take care of them, my specialty is feline friends! I absolutely love cats in all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I'm there if your cat wants a long-term babysitter relationship or just a friendly person to fill the bowl and respect their need for personal space. I'm so excited to be getting back into the animal care business in Portland, Oregon! I'll be available for work after July 30th, 2024. Feel free to contact me any time if you think we may be a good match! In Seattle, I am available on Fridays and weekends. Once I move to Portland, my schedule is wide open for animal care. However, I may need to add some restrictions as I get settled into my new home and look at other work to supplement my income. I will be sure to update my schedule as appropriate. Feel free to communicate with me as your needs change as well! So much of my care is based on the animal themselves. My cat Betty is super playful and affectionate, so I make sure to schedule out play time for us every day. Some animals just want affection and cuddles, which I'm also happy to provide. Some of my more aloof customers prefer to be left alone, and I always respect their space. My number one priority for all animals is that they are comfortable and safe during my time with them.
About: I've had the privilege of caring for dogs for over a decade. I have experience administering medication, walking, cleaning and playing with puppies and middle age dogs. I am a full time artist with quite an open and flexible schedule. I am available during the day during the week and flexible during weekends. I love playing and spending time with my own cat, catering to her needs and spending time together. I have no issue crating other's dogs if asked.
About: We are gentle, caring, and experienced pet parents ready to welcome your pet(s) into our home. I (Alex) have been caring for pets of family and friends for well over a decade. I once worked at the WSU veterinary school and have experience volunteering at vet clinics and fostering. I have always been passionate about animals of all shapes, sizes, and ages. My partner Dalton is a work from home dad to our three furbabies and one human baby. We have plenty of indoor and fenced outdoor space for your pet(s) to roam. Whether they want to cuddle up on the couch with us, or prefer a quiet, secluded space of their own, we can accommodate your pet's needs. Our goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in our home. If you need drop-in visits or dog walking, I have availability for that too! Don't hesitate to reach out with questions. We value open, frequent communication and would love a meet and greet with you and your pet(s) to see if we are a good fit. I work night shift in healthcare- I have several days off in a row every other week which is when I would be available for pet sitting. This includes weekends and weekdays, as well as some holidays. My partner works from home full-time so is available to help out as needed. We have a large one story home with plenty of lounge spaces for your pet to get comfortable. We also have a large fully fenced, grassy backyard. Our two elderly dogs are good with other dogs, but we also have the ability to give your pet(s) their own gated off space, or crate, if needed.

About: Ever since I first rescued my first pitbull, I knew what my purpose was. It was to help that breed be more understood and to do what I can to make their lives better. That has moved on to now include all dogs. They are my everything and the world would be a less enjoyable place without them. I want to do what I can to make their lives better. I am available any day most times. I am here to make your life and your friends lives easier, safer, and instilling confidence that I will do whatever I can to make their lives wonderful. I am the main caregiver of our family, which consists of my current pitbull Wallace three kitties our newest, a male, orange tabby Ivan, a gray (blue) female named Vera and our oldest a 10 year-old mixed tabby named Clarabelle. I also take care of our five chickens which are white leg horns isotope, plutonium, uranium, atoll, and madame curie. We have a fully fenced backyard for Wallace and the chickens to all roam free. I built a $3000 chicken coop so they are living in luxury when they are roasting and laying. Wallace and all the kitties live indoors with us. I believe that based on where we live that the cats should remain indoors due to traffic and coyote concerns.
About: I enjoyed decades of loving and caring for my own dogs and cats, though their long, healthy lives. Through that I became familiar with medicating, training and creating happy lives for those lovable souls. My work on Rover hosting and house-sitting has been rewarding for the pet families I've supported, and for myself. I've hosted my neighbor's small older dog Marty for a week or long weekends and often assist my friend (a Star Sitter!) with walks and general attention/care when visiting them. My son's cats and hedgehog are happy to stay with me when they travel. My work is part-time, and I'm typically a home body. I'm generally open to distraction, the sort that I expect to encounter with pets, and the break from work routine is very welcome to me. I'm able and willing to let your pet wander my home and fenced back yard. As they like, I enjoy providing affection and head, back, belly rubs and scruffs. I'm happy to tune my hours to meet a unique feeding or meds schedule. If its suggested and allowed I'm also good to offer reasonably timed treats, and of course daily walks in my quiet neighborhood - a dog-friendly area adjacent to a green trail.

“Roxanne is wonderful. Very punctual, flexible, communicative and kind. My pup absolutely loves her, and the days they walk together are my pups favorite! She is great with dogs (and humans) and I feel so grateful we found her!”

“Thanks so much Cassidy for taking good care of Archie like always so appreciate your care of him and making sure that he has all of his needs met! I’m so grateful of your attentiveness and flexibility to make sure that my little guy has the best experience while I’m away. You’re the best!”
Powellhurst dog parents share their Rover experiences
Nicole helped us so much by taking on several drop ins and a walk fir our newly adopted pup Odysseus. We didnt plan to adopt before we were out of town so it was a but last minute and she even came to meet us before we left. Very grateful for how kind and thoughtful she has been with our boys. 🐕 🐈

Madeline has been absolutely wonderful with our two dogs, who couldn’t be more different in personality and needs. She’s incredibly attentive, patient, and clearly takes the time to understand each of them individually. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were both cared for in a way that suited them best.

Aislynn was such an awesome walker and would highly recommend her! She took such great care of our dog and cat, and we would book her again in a heartbeat. We were in constant communication and the pictures we got every day were great. Thelma and Bourbon would love to see you again!

I’m so glad I found Angela to help walk my very particular little cattle dog/chihuahua mix. He was getting too overstimulated at daycare and this has been a great switch. Angela is super communicative, sends great updates and pictures, and always makes sure Alfie has a fresh bowl of water and has settled down comfortably before she leaves. 🙂

The most important thing is how my fur baby is treated. Ariane is kind to my 1 y.o. energetic boxer. She was able to manage him, keep him safe, and brought him home happy and worn out. Obi likes her and trusts Ariane in his space and during the walk. As for the person-to-person interaction. Ariane is responsive, asks good questions to understand the dog parent's needs, and follows through. I'd recommend Ariane for your dog care needs. She's professional and easy to work with. She's on the top of my list to care for Obi in the future.

Lauren has walked my dogs for a week and done a great job. She has followed through with all the directions (especially all of the safety concerns- key back where it’s supposed to go and the gate latched on the fence). My dogs seemed very happy with Lauren, and she is very good about communicating.

Erin is simply the best! They are friendly, reliable, cool, and my dog and cat adore them!! I’m so grateful to have Erin on my team. It’s hard living in a city with no family nearby, and Erin makes life feel a bit more connected and I don’t need to worry about how to make sure my pets are well cared-for and loved when I’m away!

Bo (Teven) was great! Communicative all around, but what was most important was they had no hesitation in slowing down to meet my dog where she was comfortable. My girl takes a while to earn trust with a new human enough to actually be ok leaving our house/yard, so the first "walk" was actually Bo just kicking it with Finley in our yard. They'll work up to being able to adventure around the neighborhood. Based on how Finely was when I got back home (along with Bo's communication throughout), I am confident that will happen in the next few visits. 10/10 would recommend, especially for any guardians of reactive/anxious dogs.

Jason has become our twice weekly walk after spending 10 days housesitting our two dogs. He is very caring considerate person and did a wonderful job of looking after both dogs and our home for 10 days. It was the first time we were away from the dogs, and they were very calm and relaxed when I returned. The house was just as we left it and Jason sent lovely photos and wonderful updates every day. He’s a good communicator and always on time. I would not hesitate to book him again and recommend him 100%.
