About: One of my passions in life is pets and caring for them. As a graduate from Carrington College in veterinary assisting I learned valuable skills such as understanding animal behavior, CPR, nail trims and administering medications. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hampsters, lizards, fish, frogs and feel comfortable with nearly any type of pet. What I bring to pet care is a strong connection to animals, I feel a sense of responsibility and need to care for them and be their new best friend. I will always talk to pets & their owners when I see them on a bus, walking down the street, or in an outside restaurant. I am vegan, as I feel that all animals should be treated well. OUTSIDE REVIEWS Heather took care of my young and active miniature Australian Labradoodle Maggie for 3 nights. She stayed at my home and did an amazing job. I came home to a calm and happy dog and my house was just as I left it . Maggie loved her and she loved Maggie. I felt 100 % confident that she was in good hands. She has experience with animals, loves them and has even had vet tech training in the past. Previously, when I left Maggie with a sitter for 3 days she didn’t eat and lost a pound, but with Heather she was just as I left her. I was delighted. Heather gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I am free just about any time and duration, and can go anywhere that Tri-Met can take me if it's an hour or less travel time. I will take your dog to a park if it's within walking distance, or walk around the neighborhood, or play/run around in the yard or house as well.

About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!

I am available for drop-in visits and walks. When visiting a pet in your home, I am very respectful of your space and focus on making sure your pet is taken care of. I check all food and water bowls, making sure they’re clean, making sure the environment is still safe how you left it, and giving them any needed enrichment like play time, cuddles, walks, etc that you’ve outlined.

About: Besides my experience with my own pets I began volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society at 17. After that I went on to dog sit for various different families part time for around 3 years. I have a big window of availability currently. I’m going back to school in the fall, but until then I am just working part time. I work for my grandpa, so my schedule is super flexible! When I dog sit in the clients home I will follow your instructional list for feeding/walks/ activities/ grooming ect. I have car so I can take your pup to nearby parks/ dog parks if you would like, or just for a classic stroll around your neighborhood if you prefer. For clients that would prefer I take car if you dog in my home I have a fenced in back yard and live near several park so we can go on several adventures. Or just chill at home if you have a senior/ more low energy dog. My only deal breaker is that your dog isn’t reactive towards cats.

About: I have been taking care of cats and dogs ever since I was a teen. My family always had cats growing up but I would care for a lot of cats and dogs for friends and family. I currently have 1 cat named Wednesday and 1 dog named Korra. They are super friendly and would love to meet some new friends! About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. My life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own pet services business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. About: My name is Melanie and I am currently a college student and I would love to care of your pets. Growing up we had so many pets ranging from dogs to a bearded dragon (that we still have), so I would say I'm pretty good with pets and if there's a pet I never had before, I would be glad to learn how to care for them properly. I have some pets of my own but I would make sure that they will stay out the way when I bring yours home by having them stay in another room.
