About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. I know there are a lot of people on this site, who fluff their profiles and just do this for extra money. But, my life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is absolutely the top priority for me when working with pets. I’m always watching, listening and paying attention to their body language. I have a deep understanding of dog psychology and know that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and that not all dogs are extroverts. In fact, many are quite the opposite. I’m naturally hyper-vigilant, yet focus on remaining calm and assertive when working with dogs, especially when out in the world. I’ve completed a variety of trainings with dogs over my lifetime, from canine good citizen, to flyball, to advanced therapy dog training. I’m Pet CPR + First Aid certified, as well as bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. I’m professional, reliable, punctual, responsible, trustworthy and pride myself on practicing clear and transparent communication. I'm located in the east Portland area, also near Happy Valley and Gresham, and I service most all surrounding areas. In addition to working with dogs, I'm also a part-time jewelry artist and I work out of my home studio. I make my own schedule and usually, always available. I can schedule around most everything. At my home, I have three small rescue dogs that are a bonded pack. We utilize pet gates and dog run fencing in our fenced backyard. Open to small dogs for boarding and daycare.

About: i was raised around dogs my entire life. i have a pup who is 4 years old who is like my baby. i know what it is like to have an animal that you love like a child & i want to help others out by treating their dogs like they’re family (: i am a stay at home mama at the moment. i have 3 years of experience working at a dog boarding and grooming shop as a kennel assistant 🤍 i have 2 fenced yards that are big enough for the doggos to run around in. there are many toys at my house for the dogs to play with and even have 2 friendly dogs for the pups to play with as well. my puppy is pretty active and wants to play constantly, she loves the comfort of another animal.

About: One of my passions in life is pets and caring for them. As a graduate from Carrington College in veterinary assisting I learned valuable skills such as understanding animal behavior, CPR, nail trims and administering medications. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hampsters, lizards, fish, frogs and feel comfortable with nearly any type of pet. What I bring to pet care is a strong connection to animals, I feel a sense of responsibility and need to care for them and be their new best friend. OUTSIDE REVIEWS Heather took care of my young and active miniature Australian Labradoodle Maggie for 3 nights. She stayed at my home and did an amazing job. I came home to a calm and happy dog and my house was just as I left it . Maggie loved her and she loved Maggie. I felt 100 % confident that she was in good hands. She has experience with animals, loves them and has even had vet tech training in the past. Previously, when I left Maggie with a sitter for 3 days she didn’t eat and lost a pound, but with Heather she was just as I left her. I was delighted. Heather gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I am free just about any time and duration, and can go anywhere that Tri-Met can take me if it's an hour or less travel time. I will take your dog to a park if it's within walking distance, or walk around the neighborhood, or play/run around in the yard or house as well.

I’m naturally detail-oriented, so if your pet has a specific medication routine, a strict diet, or a very particular way they like things done, I’m the person who will get it right. With two high-energy children and a senior dog at home, I know all about being the beacon of calm and patience. I have a massive soft spot for silly “Golden Retriever energy" and a special place in my heart for seniors. I’m new to this paid pet drop-in gig, but I have cared for pets and children (including those with disabilities) nearly all my life. A quick note on fit: To keep things safe and happy for everyone, I only sit for friendly, non-aggressive dogs. I want to make sure I can give your pup 100% of my attention in a relaxed setting! I’m currently working part-time and have two children to take to from care. Because of this, mid-day drop ins/walks work best. When I’m in your home for a drop-in, I’ll treat your space and your security with total respect. I’m the person who triple-checks that the door is locked before we head out for a walk. My goal is to leave your home exactly how I found it—just with a much happier pet.

About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!

About: I've been passionate about animal care ever since I started my first pet-sitting business at 15. I still remember my first clients: A family with an older cat and a family with two pomeranian puppies. While I love dogs and can take care of them, my specialty is feline friends! I absolutely love cats in all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I'm there if your cat wants a long-term babysitter relationship or just a friendly person to fill the bowl and respect their need for personal space. I'm so excited to be getting back into the animal care business in Portland, Oregon! I'll be available for work after July 30th, 2024. Feel free to contact me any time if you think we may be a good match! In Seattle, I am available on Fridays and weekends. Once I move to Portland, my schedule is wide open for animal care. My cat Betty is super playful and affectionate, so I make sure to schedule out play time for us every day. Some animals just want affection and cuddles, which I'm also happy to provide. Some of my more aloof customers prefer to be left alone, and I always respect their space. My number one priority for all animals is that they are comfortable and safe during my time with them.

About: I enjoyed decades of loving and caring for my own dogs and cats, though their long, healthy lives. Through that I became familiar with medicating, training and creating happy lives for those lovable souls. My work on Rover hosting and house-sitting has been rewarding for the pet families I've supported, and for myself. I've hosted my neighbor's small older dog Marty for a week or long weekends and often assist my friend (a Star Sitter!) with walks and general attention/care when visiting them. My son's cats and hedgehog are happy to stay with me when they travel. My work is part-time, and I'm typically a home body. I'm generally open to distraction, the sort that I expect to encounter with pets, and the break from work routine is very welcome to me. I'm able and willing to let your pet wander my home and fenced back yard. As they like, I enjoy providing affection and head, back, belly rubs and scruffs. I'm happy to tune my hours to meet a unique feeding or meds schedule. If its suggested and allowed I'm also good to offer reasonably timed treats, and of course daily walks in my quiet neighborhood - a dog-friendly area adjacent to a green trail.

I like to take dogs on walks, and am a calming influence. I am not trained with dogs that might be aggressive. I get along with most dogs and love to care for my dog niece. I'm currently working a flexible day job and parenting a 5 yr old. I am available in the late afternoons, weekends and possibly early mornings to stop by to feed or walk animals. Coming by to feed and play with animals and follow instructions provided. Taking dogs/cats on leashed walks around the neighborhood and making sure they have their poop cleaned up.
