About: One of my passions in life is pets and caring for them. As a graduate from Carrington College in veterinary assisting I learned valuable skills such as understanding animal behavior, CPR, nail trims and administering medications. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hampsters, lizards, fish, frogs and feel comfortable with nearly any type of pet. What I bring to pet care is a strong connection to animals, I feel a sense of responsibility and need to care for them and be their new best friend. OUTSIDE REVIEWS Heather took care of my young and active miniature Australian Labradoodle Maggie for 3 nights. She stayed at my home and did an amazing job. I came home to a calm and happy dog and my house was just as I left it . Maggie loved her and she loved Maggie. I felt 100 % confident that she was in good hands. She has experience with animals, loves them and has even had vet tech training in the past. Previously, when I left Maggie with a sitter for 3 days she didn’t eat and lost a pound, but with Heather she was just as I left her. I was delighted. Heather gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I am free just about any time and duration, and can go anywhere that Tri-Met can take me if it's an hour or less travel time. I will take your dog to a park if it's within walking distance, or walk around the neighborhood, or play/run around in the yard or house as well.

About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!

About: I've been passionate about animal care ever since I started my first pet-sitting business at 15. I still remember my first clients: A family with an older cat and a family with two pomeranian puppies. While I love dogs and can take care of them, my specialty is feline friends! I absolutely love cats in all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I'm there if your cat wants a long-term babysitter relationship or just a friendly person to fill the bowl and respect their need for personal space. About: I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I’ve had family dogs growing up and had a dog of my own in my early twenties, so caring for them has always been a part of my life. Around 2020, friends and coworkers started asking me to house sit while they traveled, and that’s when I realized how much I genuinely enjoy caring for other people’s homes and especially thier pets. Since then, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities... from tiny Chihuahuas and miniature Poodles to Huskies, Pit Bulls, and Dobermans. I’ve also spent some time with cats, hamsters, bunnies, and lizards. Unfortunately I have retired for caring for cats due to allergies. I know that every dog is different. Some want to play nonstop, some love long walks, and others just want someone cuddles. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I’ve even helped reinforce basic training, taught a few fun tricks, and worked on some very simple behavioral habits when owners have appreciated. I believe consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement go a long way. When your dog is with me, they’ll be treated like my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your best friend is getting plenty of attention, exercise, affection, care until you’re back home. I’m currently a surgical technology student, and my classes are scheduled in the mornings, which means I’m available most afternoons and evenings for walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and quality time with your pets. Trusting someone with your animal is a huge deal. I am big on personal integrity and respect. I know every pet is different, so I like to stick as closely as possible to the routine they’re already used to. Whether that means long walks, playtime in the yard, keeping up with feeding schedules, or just hanging out on the couch together, I’m happy to do whatever helps them feel comfortable while you’re away. Safety is always my biggest priority. I’m especially careful on walks, pay attention to each dog’s personality and body language. This means, my phone is away… unless I sneak a really cute picture of your pup. I also know how important it is to trust the person staying in your home, so I’ll treat your space with respect and leave it just the way I found it. I’ll also send plenty of updates and photos because I know I’d want the same if someone was watching my dog. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away worry free.

About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. My life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. About: My name is Melanie and I am currently a college student and I would love to care of your pets. Growing up we had so many pets ranging from dogs to a bearded dragon (that we still have), so I would say I'm pretty good with pets and if there's a pet I never had before, I would be glad to learn how to care for them properly. I have some pets of my own but I would make sure that they will stay out the way when I bring yours home by having them stay in another room.
