“Lauren has walked my dogs for a week and done a great job. She has followed through with all the directions (especially all of the safety concerns- key back where it’s supposed to go and the gate latched on the fence). My dogs seemed very happy with Lauren, and she is very good about communicating.”

“Jenni is great. She has helped us get our high energy dog out for walks while we are at work. She is patient with our little pup, and he always seems happy on days they walk. She always takes great pictures of our dog, and is very communicative about what is going on with our dog. Would definitely recommend her.”

“Shad was a kind, courteous dog walker for my fussy angel Lunchbox. Great communicator, understood my dogs needs, and responsible. Added bonus was he worked around my mobility following a surgery which was an extra kind aspect of working with Shad. Highly recommend!”

“Kira is so communicative and easy to work with! She’s very through in the “rover cards” and I have so much peace of mind knowing my pup is being cared for by her.”

“I did not get to meet Makenzie personally, but my housemates did! Makenzie walked the full allotted time and sent plenty of pictures. The fact he pooped twice means he was truly walked a lot!! And followed directions for after walk instructions. Thanks Makenzie!!”

About: I believe it's important to approach animals with a gentle manner and kind hand. I've had family pets ranging from dogs primarily, to cats and even rats and fish. I've always been excited to be leaned on for watching and checkin in on pets for friends and family whenever it's been needed! I'm a stay-at-home dad at the moment so when my kiddos are at school during the day or in the evening after they go down for bed around 7, I have plenty of time to check in on your lovely critters :) Best way for boundaries and proper care for pets in any environment to be upheld is through clear, respectful communication. I'm excited to talk with you and would love to find out how best to care for your furry family members :)
“Amazing dog walker. Jasper was on time and went above and beyond in caring for our pup. On an exceptionally rainy day they lent her a doggy rain jacket, and left us with a personally made pet portrait 💕”

“Desiré is amazing!! She has been so awesome with my puppy and keeps me updated on the walks at all times and sends great pictures to reassure that my dog is being cared for!”

About: My friends and family and friend's and family's dogs are all happy when I take care of them. I have a calm energy that will put your pet at ease, but I'm also actively observant and ready to intervene in those rare circumstances requiring it. I do part-time software engineering on whatever schedule I want, thus I am available to take care of your pets any day of the week. Every pet has their own needs, and I aim to provide anything and everything that makes them happy. Photos and videos from every visit, no charge!
“Kiley is super nice. Exceeded expectations on our dog walks and had great questions at our meet and greet. Shows she really cares and wants to provide excellent care.”

“Kai took great care of my 2 dogs! Took them on a nice long walk, and made sure they had everything they needed. Also, he was able to book on very short notice! Would definitely book another walk with Kai for next time.”

“Kayla has been great with my pups, they seem to really enjoy their walks with her. She is responsive, timely, and follows instructions wonderfully. I look forward to booking with her for regular walks during my work week!”

“I am so grateful that Karly has been walking and checking in on my senior dog, Carl these past couple months. It is such a comfort to know that she is taking care of Carl while I'm away for a long work day!”
About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!
Montavilla dog parents share their Rover experiences
Sam responded very quickly to my initial request. This was my first time on Rover and he was so patient and helpful in helping me navigate the set up. In our meet and greet he was confident and interacting with all the animals. After he left, my dog sat at the door, which I thought was a good sign. His responsiveness, care for the dog, communication, and patience have made my first experience with Rover (and a new pup) very encouraging.

Shad was a kind, courteous dog walker for my fussy angel Lunchbox. Great communicator, understood my dogs needs, and responsible. Added bonus was he worked around my mobility following a surgery which was an extra kind aspect of working with Shad. Highly recommend!
