About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!

About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. I know there are a lot of people on this site, who fluff their profiles and just do this for extra money. But, my life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. About: i was raised around dogs my entire life. i have a pup who is 3 years old who is like my baby. i know what it is like to have an animal that you love like a child & i want to help others out by treating their dogs like they’re family (: i am a stay at home mama at the moment. i have 3 years of experience working at a dog boarding and grooming shop as a kennel assistant 🤍 i have 2 fenced yards that are big enough for the doggos to run around in. there are many toys at my house for the dogs to play with and even have 2 friendly dogs for the pups to play with as well. my puppy is pretty active and wants to play constantly, she loves the comfort of another animal.
About: I've been passionate about animal care ever since I started my first pet-sitting business at 15. I still remember my first clients: A family with an older cat and a family with two pomeranian puppies. While I love dogs and can take care of them, my specialty is feline friends! I absolutely love cats in all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I'm there if your cat wants a long-term babysitter relationship or just a friendly person to fill the bowl and respect their need for personal space. I'm so excited to be getting back into the animal care business in Portland, Oregon! I'll be available for work after July 30th, 2024. Feel free to contact me any time if you think we may be a good match! In Seattle, I am available on Fridays and weekends. Once I move to Portland, my schedule is wide open for animal care. However, I may need to add some restrictions as I get settled into my new home and look at other work to supplement my income. I will be sure to update my schedule as appropriate. My cat Betty is super playful and affectionate, so I make sure to schedule out play time for us every day. Some animals just want affection and cuddles, which I'm also happy to provide. Some of my more aloof customers prefer to be left alone, and I always respect their space. My number one priority for all animals is that they are comfortable and safe during my time with them.
About: One of my passions in life is pets and caring for them. As a graduate from Carrington College in veterinary assisting I learned valuable skills such as understanding animal behavior, CPR, nail trims and administering medications. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hampsters, lizards, fish, frogs and feel comfortable with nearly any type of pet. What I bring to pet care is a strong connection to animals, I feel a sense of responsibility and need to care for them and be their new best friend. I will always talk to pets & their owners when I see them on a bus, walking down the street, or in an outside restaurant. I am vegan, as I feel that all animals should be treated well. I do not impose my views on anyone but am happy to talk about it and offer advice if asked. OUTSIDE REVIEWS Heather took care of my young and active miniature Australian Labradoodle Maggie for 3 nights. She stayed at my home and did an amazing job. I came home to a calm and happy dog and my house was just as I left it . Maggie loved her and she loved Maggie. I felt 100 % confident that she was in good hands. She has experience with animals, loves them and has even had vet tech training in the past. Previously, when I left Maggie with a sitter for 3 days she didn’t eat and lost a pound, but with Heather she was just as I left her. I was delighted. Heather gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I am free just about any time and duration, and can go anywhere that Tri-Met can take me if it's an hour or less travel time. I will take your dog to a park if it's within walking distance, or walk around the neighborhood, or play/run around in the yard or house as well.
About: Rescued two outside cats before and have formed bonds with usually shy dogs/cats. Don’t have much experience with training animals, but will make sure they have enough exercise when needed! I work Monday, Wednesday-Friday from 6am-4pm, so while mornings are very limited, the afternoon/evening walks are all open. I would be more than happy to adding your furry family member to the friends list and be able to take them outside! Making sure the water is filled and they are fed on time when I’m there. If it’s too hot out, outside time would be limited to potty time, but would be happy to make sure they have time to play inside when I’m there!

“Sage was the perfect dog sitter for my 8 year old pomeranian. I will definitely use her again. Her expertise in dog training really helps because my dog can get quite aggressive when someone tries to leave the house, because he suffers from separation anxiety. My dog also requires being fed 3 times a day which can get quite difficult for someone who has children & pets if their own, which she has.
