About: I have been around dogs and cats my whole life. I grew up with an Australian Shepard mix, two Dalmatians, and two cats. I understand how mischievous they can be; as well as how amazing and loving they are. I have no issues with younger energetic dogs or slower elderly dogs. I love them all the same. I currently am taking a leave of absence from CSUMB. I have plenty of time to hangout with your dogs! I believe socialization is important for dogs especially, and Im more than glad to be there. I live in an apartment building so having dogs stay over is very difficult. However, my place is safe for dogs and has space for them to be a little goofy. I love dogs and whether it's cuddling up or playing fetch, Im there!
About: Hello my name is Rubi! I am the owner of two beautiful cats. I have own cats, dogs, hamsters, etc. For all of my life. Giving me the experience of older and younger cats and dogs. From handling young pups and kittens to hand feeding senior cats and dogs. I am available all of sunday-wednesday! I am a Pacific Grove local! my energy is very flexible, I love to go for a long walks and be energetic for the hyper dogs and cats out there! I am also very calm to the approach if I face a timid pet. I love to go over routines as well as getting to know your pet before any alone time so we know everyone is safe and comfortable.
About: I grew up around horses and learned to respect all living creatures large and small. We always had pets at home and they gravitated towards me because I like to play and have fun with them. I had a cat for 16 years in my youth and loved her so much. Kitties will always have a special place in my heart. I have had many pets over the years and my most recent were two rescue shepherd/husky mix wonderful family members. They were brother and sister and both passed away. I do not currently have any pets of my own right now. Pet sitting is the joy of my life, and I cannot imagine a day without walking, playing and cuddling with furry friends. I am home all day and available to spend quality time with your fur babies! I am extremely flexible and am here for all of your pet’s needs. I like as much information about the pet as you'd like to give me. Whatever your pet needs, I will provide for them. I have lots of experience with anxious dogs and senior dogs and cats. I welcome any information you can provide to help your pet feel comfortable. I will only feed your pet what you provide. I will follow all of your instructions verbatim.
About: My family has always had cats and dogs growing up, and we view them as family members. I love traveling, being outdoors, and going on walks/hikes. I am a speech-language pathologist and love working with children and playing with animals. During my time off, I love enjoying the outdoors and going on adventures. I always want to ensure that your pet is safe and comfortable. I want you to know that your pet is cared for just as if the owner were with them.
About: Dogs are truly a humans best friend.🥰We enjoy taking them for walks, (helps keep us in shape😁) playtime and just bonding with them. When we needed sitters for our pup years ago, we appreciated our sitter checking in with us. We feel communicating with our neighbors, gives us all peace of mind. So if it’s ok with you, we will send a picture, or video to assure you that your pup is safe and sound. We have more time now, to enjoy God’s creation and do things that bring us real joy. We absolutely love and appreciate the gift of life and enjoy caring for and bonding with all types of animals. Whether at the park, or at the beach, dogs tend to gravitate towards my husband and I. (They obviously feel our ‘love for dogs’ vibe.🥰) We have 4 grand pets we love dearly and look forward to their visits, but when they go home, we love on everyone else’s pets, lol. We decided to start pet sitting again part time, to help fill that void.🫠 We prefer sitting at your home, so your pet feels comfortable and less stressed while you’re away, but we also don’t mind entertaining them at our home for the day. If so, it would be helpful if they’re crate-trained, in case we have to step away for a little while. It is of upmost importance to us, to see that your pet is safe and happy under our care. We love to spoil and treat them as if they were our own, so beware, they tend to not want us to leave.🥰
“Very responsive, very detail oriented. Asked lots of great questions at the meet and greet beforehand and at the first drop in. Happily did everything I asked to take care of my two cats with very specific needs. They were comfortable with her quickly and so was I.”

“Denise did an awesome job for us. She followed instructions to the letter and Bree was one happy canine while we were out. We'll def8nitely be using Denise again for our canine sitting needs!”
About: Aside from raising my own 2 fur babies ( 2 kitties now), I’ve helped take care of others’ pets from large Dobermans to small kittens. I also volunteer at a local animal shelter primarily walking and socializing with the big dogs. I lost my senior cat Meemow and senior dog Harley this year (both 15). As my title states, I’m an RN and am very comfortable with giving medications to fur babies (as I do with humans) as well as taking care of any illness issues within reason (wound care/ monitoring / accidents). When it comes to senior care of animals, I understand the need for them to get extra special love and attention, and medication to keep them as happy and healthy as possible. I believe in making pets as comfortable as possible and letting them know that I’m there to help and give love (if they want). When it comes to dog walking, I’m really vigilant about our surroundings and making sure that dogs get a good safe walk. I definitely gravitate towards animals over humans haha. I work part-time out of town, and so I have a lot of time spent at home with my own animals. I want to spend my time I have to help others too (hence also my volunteering at the animal shelter right now to). I prefer to spend time with pets as much as allowed in their home while also following routines previously set for them. Whether it’s playing out in the back yard, or just hanging out together on the couch or floor and relaxing, I like the pet to know that I’m there and not alone. If crating is necessary or part of the dogs routine, I can do that too.
“Mari is very professional and communicative. I was gone for 5 days and my cat quickly warmed up to her. I didn't worry about him at all while he was in her care. Thank you, Mari :)”

About: I know how important it is to have someone you can trust to care for your pets, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a holiday trip, I’m super flexible and happy to help whenever you need me. I’ll make sure your pets get plenty of love, attention, and exercise with regular walks to keep them happy and healthy. And, of course, I’ll send you cute photo updates so you can feel close to them even when you’re away. Your pets will be in great hands with me! Pet care is something I truly enjoy and make time for. Whether it’s walking or playing fetch with dogs on the beach, playing with cats, or providing companionship, I always ensure pets receive the care and attention they need. My partner’s large, lovable five-year-old black Labrador is a big part of my life too, and I treat him as my own—feeding, bathing, walking, and playing with him—fitting him into my day whenever I can. I’m flexible and always happy to adjust to each pet's specific needs, ensuring they’re comfortable and well-loved while you’re away. Pet care is a responsibility I take seriously and with joy! When caring for pets in my home or yours, I prioritize their safety and comfort above all else. I make sure the environment is pet-proofed and safe, removing any potential hazards and creating a cozy, relaxing space where pets can feel at home. When it comes to walks, I keep dogs on a leash and stay alert to their surroundings, making sure they're safe and happy. I also stick to their routine, whether it’s feeding or playtime, so they feel secure and loved while you’re away. I aim to make every pet feel like part of the family during their time with me.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pacific Grove
Sara did a great job on a last-minute request. Our original sitter had to unexpectedly cancel and Sara stepped in and saved us! As usual they handled my two felines with care and compassion. Them was able to manage Leo's new medication and all the other details of the drop in visits.

Natalie was wonderful from the moment I inquired about her availability. I had a last-minute request, and she kindly accommodated my needs. My cat had just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and I was very worried about leaving her with a sitter, but I couldn't easily cancel my trip. Natalie was a blessing; she didn't mind giving my cat her medication twice a day, sent me detailed updates, and answered all my questions promptly. I'd definitely book her again. Highly recommend!

Lily did exactly what I needed. My cats are simple and dont really gravitate towards humans that aren’t me haha, but she still tried to interact with them and got some photos of them. Communication was clear and she was flexible with adjusting a drop in time for me.

We just moved to town and I was anxious about hiring a cat sitter for the first time, but Janelle came over to meet our cats a few days in advance and I knew right away that they would be in great hands during my trip. She provided detailed updates after each drop in visit and plenty of photos of our cats, which reassured me that they were doing well. They warmed up to Janelle quickly and I feel so much better about traveling in the future now that I have someone I can trust to take great care of them!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
