“Melanie was such a wonderful caretaker for our pup and house. She was very communicative and sent multiple updates and photos over the course of the weekend. We will definitely use her again!”

“Michaela was great with our pup! She was very communicative, messaging updates and pics. She also left our place super clean. Would definitely use Michaela again!”

“Kimmie was kind and responsive to me and our little guy was happy and healthy when we returned. She cleaned the house as well. We will definitely hire her again if we are lucky enough to book her.”

“My wife and I have asked Michelle to house and dog sit several times and she continues to be incredible. We trust her with everything! We just got back into town from a 5 day trip and she cleaned the sheets, towels, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and fridge before she left. We know our dog is in great hands - she sends several updates per day, each with better pictures of our dog than we are able to take.”

“Mark is the best dog sitter, he treats no only our pets as his own he also goes above and beyond for our entire family to put us at ease while we are away. If you ever have the opportunity to have Mark watch your animals you are one lucky person! Thank you Mark! From Daniel, Holly, Grizz, Nyx, Snupey and Forty!”

“Delaney was just fantastic. She took great care of not even our pet, but our house as well. We hope to have the opportunity to use her again. Thank you!”

“Zoe is the best for house sitting! She took care of Sparky so well. She stayed in communication as little or as much as we wanted. On our return home, she even offered to start the laundry for the bedding she slept on. 11/10 dogs would recommend her!!”

“I would recommend Karlee to anyone looking for a sitter. While she watched our Golden Retriever, she stayed in communication with us while we were away, sent photos with updates, took her on walks, left our space clean, and she took really good care of our girl. With our permission, she even took her over to her house during the day to play with her own dog. We had a great experience with Karlee and would book with her again!”

“Kennady was great! Sent lots of updates and pictures of our pups while we were away. She also left our house clean and well cared for. We would gladly book her again!”

“Kirk did an excellent job watching our sweet senior dogs! He sent photos every day and our home looked immaculate when we returned. His professionalism and communication were outstanding. We can’t wait to use him again!”

“Becca was amazing. She was like a grandparent spoiling the grandkids. I was afraid my dogs would jump in her car when they left. She took great care of my pups. She brought lots of toys for them to play with and played fetch which my younger pup loves. She sent lots of pictures so we could see they were well taken care of. I would give her more than 5 stars if I could. Highly highly recommend!”

“Christine was amazing with our Frenchies! She was super communicative which was appreciated while we were away and missing our “kids”. She sent daily photos/videos and updates of their well-being and activities. She was very active in giving the pups the exercise that they needed and never fell short of their much needed cuddles and attention. Christine followed instructions extremely well, even with a complicated meal time routine and separate needs for each dog. She also easily navigated the instructions of our home, including the doggy cam, etc. She left her home in excellent shape, looking as if no one was ever here. I would highly recommend her to anyone for excellent care of your fur baby and your home! Thanks Christine!”

“Vanessa was a great sitter! We appreciated her reaching out to schedule a meet and greet before her sit to meet our dog. She was friendly, communicative and we will definitely use her again!”

“Liz did a wonderful job watching our kids. We have one large dog and one small dog. Liz did a great job of catering to each of their needs. We could see through the pics that she sent with updates that they were happy and well cared for making it easy to relax while on vacation. And we came home to a clean house and happy dogs. We will definately reach out to her again when we need a sitter.”

“Second time with Nichole and my boy Red loves her. I will always book with Nichole first. She’s the best. Respectful of my home and such good care of my dog. I can’t speak highly enough!!!”

“Lilly was great with my pup. She made sure to spend time playing with him everyday, and remembered to give him his probiotics. She was very communicative and sent pics during the booking. My house was in perfect condition when I returned as well. Will definitely hire her again.”

“Mara was wonderful with my dogs. She's incredibly sweet and they immediately loved her upon our meet and greet. She sent plenty of pictures and updates and went above and beyond. Highly recommend and will be booking with her again!”

“Nicole did an excellent job with Teddy. This was our first time using Rover since we had a bad experience with a local doggy day care center, and we were a little nervous to leave our dog with anyone. Nicole sent pictures and kept us updated, and the only thing that worried us is if Teddy would even want us to come back home! 10/10 recommend Nicole, we will definitely book with her again!”

“We can’t thank Spencer enough. Our dog sitter had a family health emergency after we were already out of state. Spencer came to the rescue and stayed with our dog and could not have been kinder, more responsible, and flexible with a last minute and chaotic situation. We would be thrilled to have her watch our dog again in the future and cannot speak highly enough of her professionalism and adaptability.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Salt Lake
This was our first time using Rover, and Christine exceeded our expectations! Upon meeting her, we immediately knew she was the right person for our dogs. She was incredibly thorough, sent updates with pictures, and most importantly, our dogs loved her! We will definitely use her in the future!

Nichole is a top notch dog sitter. She stayed with our older greyhound in our home for five nights. She provided updates and was excellent at communicating. Our dog was happy and well taken care of while we were away. We will definitely have Nichole stay with him again!

Karlee was so awesome! We didn't have to worry that Gracie was without a loving caretaker. Karlee even took our very naughty doggie on a walk. It is such a relief to know that we can leave our dog and go on vacation. I highly recommend Karlee and will ask her again to take care of our dog. The pictures she sent were proof that Gracie had warmed up and made a new friend.
Cameron was great. I have three dogs and my dog Sam requires some additional care and cleaning, Cameron was willing to provide it and did a great job. He provided daily updates and pictures from their walks. My house was clean and dogs were happy when I returned. I'll use Cameron's services again and highly recommend him!

Alex did a wonderful job watching our two babies on a last minute request. He was clean and tidy, even went to the extent of removing his bed sheets (which was very thoughtful) and making sure the trash was taken out when he was finished with his stay. He made sure our pup got all of his medications and was a great house guest.

Tiffany was the best kitty babysitter! She sent us so many photos and videos of our babies while we were gone. One of my cats got scared of the fireworks and Tiffany sat in our unfinished basement with her to help her feel safe. She kept our home clean and did exactly as we asked. The cats were happy when we arrived back home. We will definitely work with Tiffany again in the future!

A+ rating every time! Pavel is awesome and so helpful when taking care of our pets. He is very attentive and communicative, and our pets love him. He’s always our go-to sitter when we’re going out of town. We are so grateful we found him on here. Definitely recommend!

Rin is very professional, responsible, and kind. When we got home, our dogs were happy, healthy, and well cared for. It was clear that Rin took great care of them while we were away. We truly appreciate all the time and effort Rin put into looking after our pets. Thank you so much, Rin!

Reagan is absolutely amazing! This was the longest trip we have taken away from Willow and we felt 100% comfortable the whole time. I’m not even sure if Willow missed us much because she loves Reagan so much! 😝 Reagan sent lots of photos and updates. She made us feel so comfortable and it’s clear Willow was very well taken care of.

Madison was AMAZING! When our flight was delayed and we weren't going to be able to make it home, Madison stepped up and came back to watch our girl for an additional night which was a LIFESAVER. Couldn't recommend Madison more! Already booked her for our next trip.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Salt Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Salt Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Salt Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
