“We love Tammy. She is outstanding with our three dogs and two cats. Tammy gives you updates on your babies everyday with pictures. She is our permanent sitter and we already have the next time booked with her. We wouldn’t have anyone else watch our babies.”

“We have had Lindsay house sit for us many times and she always takes such good care of our dogs and home. She is provides frequent updates, treats our home and dogs as her own, and has become our go-to for when we are out of town. Couldn’t recommend Lindsay more.”

“Baileigh did a wonderful job with our cat Babette! Babette's mood was warm and happy when we returned. She warmed up to her right away. Baileigh kept us updated with cute pics and our place was just as we left upon return!”

“Madison was incredible! We felt so comfortable having her in our home. Our pitty is a senior with some medical issues. Madison was so confident in giving her medicine and giving her extra love while we were away. We also got regular messages to let us know that things were going well and photos! It’s always so fun to get photos! Madison also happily helped a neighbor that needed help with a package. We have a close knit neighborhood, so it was so nice that she would help. We will definitely use Madison in the future and will recommend her to our dog friends!”

“We are very pleased with how Kenna took care of Yuma and our house. Kenna texted us every morning to let us know how things were going. She always included a couple of pictures. When we reached out to her she was very quick to reply. My husband and I both think the house looked cleaner after we got home than when we left it. We both highly recommend Kenna for your petsitting needs!”

“Thank you Melia for taking such great care of the boys. When I got home, my two dogs seemed happy and calm! Melia took great care of the home too, stripped the bed and cleaned up after herself. I will definitely book with her again!”

“I would recommend Karlee to anyone looking for a sitter. While she watched our Golden Retriever, she stayed in communication with us while we were away, sent photos with updates, took her on walks, left our space clean, and she took really good care of our girl. With our permission, she even took her over to her house during the day to play with her own dog. We had a great experience with Karlee and would book with her again!”

About: I grew up with my mom finding strays to care for and finding them homes. I've always wanted my own. I've had my dog for 4 years and adopted my kitten a few months ago! I am mostly free on weekdays and most weekends so any day works for me to give your pets my undivided attention and my best care. I will be able to drop in and hang out with your pets as long, or as many times as needed to make them and yourself more comfortable!
“Liz did a wonderful job watching our kids. We have one large dog and one small dog. Liz did a great job of catering to each of their needs. We could see through the pics that she sent with updates that they were happy and well cared for making it easy to relax while on vacation. And we came home to a clean house and happy dogs. We will definately reach out to her again when we need a sitter.”

“Xion was amazing! They went above and beyond in home sitting our dog over our Thanksgiving vacation. From near-daily text and photo updates, to even shoveling snow from our driveway and sidewalk, they really took care of everything and more. So grateful and would absolutely book again!”

“It was our first house sitting and while there were some hiccups and an unexpected situation both Shayla and Derek did amazing. 20/10 ⭐️ Excellent communication and frequent updates ✅ Puppies were happy and anxiety free ✅ House was clean ✅ If you’re looking for someone who will love your fur babies like their own look no further. Very highly recommended!!”

“Thankful for the availability, communication and response time in finding a sitter for the dogs. The meet and greet was nice with Trista beforehand and for her to feel comfortable with the dogs/home. It looks like food got mixed up during the weekend and I also had to deep clean upon return home for some pet messes. I'd consider Trista for when we are in a pinch but with better written instructions.”

“Zoe has been an amazing sitter! We get daily updates and pictures and when we get back from our trips our home is spotless. We couldn’t ask for a better sitter and are so so happy to have someone we can trust to watch our pets!”

“Cameron was great. I have three dogs and my dog Sam requires some additional care and cleaning, Cameron was willing to provide it and did a great job. He provided daily updates and pictures from their walks. My house was clean and dogs were happy when I returned. I'll use Cameron's services again and highly recommend him!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a kid. I would feed, walk and scoop the poop of my childhood dog for years. I also sitted for my sisters dog every day for a summer when she was a puppy. I currently have two cats and one kitten that enjoy a happy home full of treats, catnip and toys. I also have experience administering an inhaler to cats which I do morning and night for one of mine. I have open availability and can work Monday-Friday. I feed, clean the litter box, and play with my three cats daily and always make time to make sure they are happy and healthy. I have two cat trees for my cats to rest and relax on as well as plenty of toys, treats, and hard and wet food for them. I make sure to give them plenty of belly rubs and attention. I can assure that your cats and dogs will be happy, safe, and well fed with me in their care.
“Alex was amazing with my 3 ladies ( Beela oy soon yo be 6 year old Schnaussie, Daisy, our 3 year old Aussie, and Willow our 4 year old Aussie) He sent daily pictures and all 3 were happy. I would sneak a peak in the backyard cameras, he was throwing the ball and giving them a lot of attention. Alex is kind. I would have him again when needed.”

“We had the best experience with Grace! She was super responsive and sent daily check-ins with pictures, which I loved. She made sure our dog got her walks and multiple drop-ins every day, and followed all of our instructions perfectly. She took care of everything—our dog, cat, and even our fish—and went above and beyond by handling little things like taking our garbage cans out on garbage day. That kind of attention to detail meant so much while we were away. Our dog can be pretty shy, but she was so sweet and patient—and somehow won her over in no time. That alone says a lot! It gave me so much peace of mind knowing everything at home was in such good hands. We will definitely be using her again and would 100% recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Farmington
We love Madison! We had a day trip planned (not necessarily needing care for our dog) and decided to switch to an overnight because of our great experience with Madison last time. She is so great with our medically complex dog. We accidentally packed some of our dogs medication in our bag this trip. Madison was so great about asking questions, letting us know it was missing, and waiting for our instruction. She happily searched until we told he we found them. Thankfully that medication wasn’t a big deal, but it’s nice to know that we had someone who would have done whatever was needed. We can’t wait to have Madison back in the future!

McKenna is the real deal! I went out of country for a vacation super worried of my oversized, over-energetic dog would be well cared for - and McKenna more than met my expectations! She provided constant reports on how he was doing, with pictures, and made sure she followed the instructions I left to the letter. McKenna is a wonderful house AND dog sitter and I’m so glad I now have someone I can trust. My dog had a great time. Thank you McKenna!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Farmington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Farmington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Farmington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
