“This was the first time we’d left our two frenchies with someone other than my mom so we were nervous to leave them. Lexi was very responsive and professional. She sent us pictures of the dogs throughout our trip and gave us updates on them. She even cleaned the sheets and one of our dogs crate bed when it needed it. Lexi made our trip less stressful knowing we didn’t have to worry about them.”

“We have never left our babies alone without a family member watching them. Tammy made us feel so comfortable. She communicated several times a day on how the dogs were doing, which put me at ease being away from them. I would highly recommend Tammy. She definitely treats your babies as her own. I already have our next sitting appointment with her!”

“Xion was amazing! They went above and beyond in home sitting our dog over our Thanksgiving vacation. From near-daily text and photo updates, to even shoveling snow from our driveway and sidewalk, they really took care of everything and more. So grateful and would absolutely book again!”

About: I have grown up around many kinds of animals, was a part of my local 4-H club in school, and have pet-sat for friends and family on multiple occasions. As a small business owner and mom, I have the time in my day that others don’t, and I would love to use it helping people with their pets. I prefer to sit kid-friendly pets, but have child care available to be able to tend to and love pets of all needs and temperaments. I keep pet rules, such as no pups on the bed, couch, in the kitchen, etc. but I also like to love and spoil them to make sure they don’t miss their owner(s) too bad.
“This was the 3rd time having Hettie in our home watching our girls. She is truly amazing. She takes such good care of our girls. Our home is left as we left it, if not better. I love the daily pictures and reports. I think by far my favorite was a report from this weekend about Lamb Chop and the culprit no where to be seen.”

“Hire McKenna!!!! She has got to be the BEST housesitter on here! She communicates extremely well, she respects our wishes, and she goes above and beyond her job title and duties. We are so pleased! Our dogs and our house were perfectly protected with McKenna! You will not be disappointed if you choose her.”

“We couldn’t be happier with Zoe’s incredible care for our baby doggie, Caramel, while we were away on a family trip to Hawaii! From the moment we left, we knew Caramel was in the best hands. Zoe treated her like royalty, giving her so much love and snuggles that it almost made us jealous! We especially appreciated the regular updates, complete with photos of Caramel’s adorable antics and health check-ins. It brought us so much peace of mind knowing our sweet girl was happy and thriving while we were away. Zoe went above and beyond in every way, and we can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will love your pet as much as you do, Zoe is the one!”

“Amber did a great job taking care of the house, it looked better than when we left and the pups were all well cared for. We have a couple of tricky doggos one is aggressive with other dogs, outside of his pack, the other guards their food and one is just a bit older and can just be a little needy from time to time. All to say Amber did great and we’d recommend her without question. Thank you!!!”

About: I’ve taken care of my family dog for 15 years, and he’s an anxious, picky little dog, so I am used to high maintenance animals:) (He’s a Shih Tzu and he’s still kickin it!) My schedule varies during the week, but I’m open to requests! I try to keep my calendar updated 2+ weeks in advance. Send me a message! I can check in on your pet multiple times a day, feed them, take them on walks, let them outside, play with them, etc! I am not knowledgeable enough to administer shots or similar forms of medications.
“Rachel and Melissa are wonderful sitters. They are very communicative, sent pictures daily, and left my house looking clean and tidy. I really feel like they love my dog like I do!”

“Grace is our go to for Sammy watching. Sammy adores her and Grace takes such good care of her. We had to leave town last minute for a funeral and Grace graciously stepped in to watch Sammy for us and we are so thankful!”

“Elva was a great house/pet sitter for us! This is the first time we have ever needed one for our 12 year old dog and we couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I appreciated that she was willing to come before we left to meet us and learn our dog's current routines. I came back home to the house still being clean and a happy dog. I will definitely reach out to Elva again for any upcoming trips!”

“My dog literally had diarrhea the whole time and was anxious without us but Anna and Cameron were amazing and took care of the situation for us so that we could have a good trip and they were really on top of making sure the safety of our dogs were a priority. We will definitely use them again, they are fantastic!”

“Kaylee took great care of our pups and house. They received tons of love and snuggles and had zero complaints. Great communication and very responsive, 10/10 would recommend her.”

“Our cat Monkey got used to someone always being at the house, since my girlfriend works from home. When we planned to be gone for nearly a week for the first time since adopting him, we weren't sure how poorly Monkey would react. Isela handled it with patience and professionalism! She stayed in touch frequently, included images and videos, and followed our care instructions to the last detail, asking questions when we needed to clarify. Even though Monkey didn't warm up to this new visitor much, Isela made sure he got his critical medicines and was as happy as could be. I would gladly book her again as a trusted cat (and house!) sitter.”

“Anne was amazing! Super communicative and easy going. She cared for and loved on our dogs like they were her own. She even sent picture updates of some of the happenings. I definitely recommend her for your dog sitting needs!”

“Gabriella went above and beyond to ensure our cat was cared for! She quickly and happily adapted to a change in our care plan from drop-in visits to house sitting when our cat started to feel unwell while we were away. We received great photos and communication throughout. We came home to a happy cat and our place was better than we left it! Thank you so much!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kaysville
Highly recommend Rachel and Missy! As first time Rover users, we were nervous about leaving our dogs, but Missy went above and beyond by coming over for a meet and greet first. We received photo updates every morning and evening, and we even came home to a clean house. They made the entire experience seamless and stress free. We will definitely be booking them again!

Kaylee took excellent care of our fur family. We got photos for the first couple of days of our trip. When we got home, all pets were in good spirits and had clearly been well cared for. The house was also exactly as we had left it. We were so grateful for the care she took!

Desiree does a great job for us looking after our dogs. 2 have health issues that require several medications. One has a colon issue that requires you to clean her up after she goes. It takes a special person to willingly do that for the dog. We have no worries when we go away; we know the dogs will be well taken care of.

Tammy and Jeff were more than you can ask for in a house sitter! Went above and beyond to care for our pets, plants, and home. When an unforeseen wrench came their way, didn’t hear a peep of complaining or annoyance. I know my girls were safe and felt comfortable with them and that’s all I needed while I was away. They were terrific!!!

McKenna is the real deal! I went out of country for a vacation super worried of my oversized, over-energetic dog would be well cared for - and McKenna more than met my expectations! She provided constant reports on how he was doing, with pictures, and made sure she followed the instructions I left to the letter. McKenna is a wonderful house AND dog sitter and I’m so glad I now have someone I can trust. My dog had a great time. Thank you McKenna!!

I appreciated the fact Mackenzie was able to do this at the last minute, as I was planning a "working vacation" and was unable to contact a friend to do this as well as having others on Rover.com not able or interested. Primarily to stay overnight with my two cats, who did enjoy her company, she did all I asked of her.
This is the second time Anna house-sat and watched my two cats and she is so great! I have one very sassy cat and one who takes lots of meds and she handles them like a pro. The house was tidy when I returned and she kept me updated the whole time. Thanks Anna!!

We love Ella! She has stayed at our home and watched our pets twice now. Both times she has done an exceptional job! She loves our pets as if they were her own and takes amazing care of them! Daily walks, play time, pup cups, and lots of cuddles and love! She always takes great care of our home, both times we came back to it very clean! We feel great peace of mind knowing our pets are at home where they feel safe with someone they are familiar with and loved by! Ella is the best, she is our go-to sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Kaysville on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,379 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kaysville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kaysville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kaysville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kaysville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kaysville. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
