“We have never left our pets for this long before so we were a bit nervous beforehand. Everything went great! We returned home to happy, well cared for pets. Thank you!!!!!”

“This was the first time we’d left our two frenchies with someone other than my mom so we were nervous to leave them. Lexi was very responsive and professional. She sent us pictures of the dogs throughout our trip and gave us updates on them. She even cleaned the sheets and one of our dogs crate bed when it needed it. Lexi made our trip less stressful knowing we didn’t have to worry about them.”

“Elva was a great house/pet sitter for us! This is the first time we have ever needed one for our 12 year old dog and we couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I appreciated that she was willing to come before we left to meet us and learn our dog's current routines. I came back home to the house still being clean and a happy dog. I will definitely reach out to Elva again for any upcoming trips!”

“We couldn’t be happier with Zoe’s incredible care for our baby doggie, Caramel, while we were away on a family trip to Hawaii! From the moment we left, we knew Caramel was in the best hands. Zoe treated her like royalty, giving her so much love and snuggles that it almost made us jealous! We especially appreciated the regular updates, complete with photos of Caramel’s adorable antics and health check-ins. It brought us so much peace of mind knowing our sweet girl was happy and thriving while we were away. Zoe went above and beyond in every way, and we can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will love your pet as much as you do, Zoe is the one!”

“Kerry, simply put, was absolutely amazing!! Communication (A+), Care for our house (A+), Care for our dog (A++++). Our dog is a little standoffish at times and by the end of the first day, she was cuddling on him and giving him kisses. He left a heart felt note upon leaving our house, which I must say, seemed like he wasn't even here given how clean it was. Thank you so much, Kerry! Already looking forward to you watching Aurora again.”

About: I grew up with dogs since I was about 4! I have a big family with lots of aunts and uncles that rely on me to take care of their dogs while they are gone on trips. I love getting to know pets with all different personalities. I work 8-5 five days a week with rotating days. I go straight back to your home after work and am able to spend the rest of the night with your pets. I have a lunch in the middle of the work day I can check on the pets depending on distance. I am easy to reach outside of sleeping hours and can give any updates needed. I keep a close eye on your pets and keep in touch if anything seems out of the ordinary with them to take the best action.

“Candace was amazing. She asked thorough and thoughtful questions and shared pics of our pups regularly. We have already rebooked her and highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs!”

“From the moment I met Kianna I felt completely comfortable leaving my dogs in her care. The dogs were well looked after, and it was clear that Kianna was an animal lover. She kept me updated with photos and messages, which gave me peace of mind as it was the first time I was leaving my dogs, (Zeke is 12 years old) and my home in someone else’s care. The dogs seem to be happy and relaxed when I returned, which is a huge benefit of in-home care. It was evident that the dogs and my home were treated with love, attention, and respect. With about 6 inches of snow and rain and a doggie door, I was expecting paw prints everywhere but this was not the case not a muddy paw mark to be seen. I would recommend Kianna to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and responsible dog sitter. Thank you for taking such good care of my pups.”

“Lyric stayed with my cat for 9 days and was more than willing to stay later in the day with him since my flight home got delayed. She sent pics and was very communicative throughout the whole process. She did a great job, was very trustworthy, and my cat loved her!”

About: I grew up with two rescue dogs who I took care of. They were brother and sister. I always loved taking care of them. The brother was a bit on the slow side but he was really friendly. His sister lived to 18, and as needy as she was I loved taking care of her. It required a gentle hand that I was happy to provide. I love animals in general, and would be glad to help take care of anyone’s pets. I work part-time as a mover. Usually 2-3 times a week for 2-4 hours. The only other commitments I have during the week is church on Sunday mornings. I am available most days and nights. Since I am a college student I do not have any pets right now, so this job gives me the opportunity to spend some time with furry friends who make me very happy.
“Haylie was so sweet and and kind caring for our dog. She kept us connected while we were away by sending pics and updates. She was great at communicating and a pleasure to work with.”

“Jayda and Echo were amazing dog sitters. They took great care of both our vizslas. Both our dogs have very different personalities and they were great with them! The house was left clean and the dogs were tired. They sent pictures throughout the day. We were so grateful we could leave the dogs without any worries!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hill Air Force Base
We were so blessed to have found Ilina on Rover! She came and stayed at our apartment Monday-Friday on short notice and took great care of our dog and cat, We have never had a sitter before. My pets were fed, watered, walked several times a day, and definitely loved on. I will be having her watch them again. What a responsible and honest person Ilina is🧡🐕🐈

Brandi is absolutely exceptional! She went above and beyond taking care of my animals while I was away. She kept me well informed with updates, was incredibly kind and caring, and proved to be completely reliable throughout the entirety of my trip. It was a huge relief, knowing that my pets were in such great hands! On top of that, she was genuinely fun and easy to work with. I came home to happy, well cared for animals and couldn't be more grateful. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter! I will most definitely be using Brandi again in the future! She's THE BEST!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We could not have asked for a better person to watch our dogs over Christmas. This was a very last-minute situation for us, and she truly saved the day. She was incredibly attentive, kept our home clean, and clearly cared so much about our dogs. She sent us multiple pictures and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She went above and beyond in every way — she brought treats for them out, clipped Bean’s nails (after getting our permission) at no charge, and even got the dogs a Christmas gift. It was obvious from the start that our dogs were comfortable, happy, and so well cared for. We would 100% trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and thoughtful pet sitter.

Nicole took great care of our kitties and house when we were out of town. She's very pleasant to work with and sent regular updates. It was great being able to enjoy a vacation without worrying about our pets, especially our elderly cat. We came home to happy health furbabies!

Caleb did an awesome job with our three pups! He understood the importance of how they are to be fed to avoid any outburst since one of them can get food aggressive. He made sure they were in the specific location stated when not at the house. Watched them when let out as we have an escape artist. Just all around, he did a fabulous job in watching them and providing them with great care!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hill Air Force Base walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hill Air Force Base maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hill Air Force Base choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
