“Kerry, simply put, was absolutely amazing!! Communication (A+), Care for our house (A+), Care for our dog (A++++). Our dog is a little standoffish at times and by the end of the first day, she was cuddling on him and giving him kisses. He left a heart felt note upon leaving our house, which I must say, seemed like he wasn't even here given how clean it was. Thank you so much, Kerry! Already looking forward to you watching Aurora again.”

“Bailey was the sweetest thing and we were very grateful she could accommodate us through the weekend. She was very responsive every time we reached out via text and we appreciate her meeting us in advance to introduce the pups to her.”

About: I grew up with two rescue dogs who I took care of. They were brother and sister. I always loved taking care of them. The brother was a bit on the slow side but he was really friendly. His sister lived to 18, and as needy as she was I loved taking care of her. It required a gentle hand that I was happy to provide. I love animals in general, and would be glad to help take care of anyone’s pets. I work part-time as a mover. Usually 2-3 times a week for 2-4 hours. The only other commitments I have during the week is church on Sunday mornings. I am available most days and nights. Since I am a college student I do not have any pets right now, so this job gives me the opportunity to spend some time with furry friends who make me very happy.

“Candace was amazing with my two dogs. She was patient and understanding. Both my dogs have anxiety when we leave and she did not hesitate to keep me updated on the two.”

“Xion was amazing! They went above and beyond in home sitting our dog over our Thanksgiving vacation. From near-daily text and photo updates, to even shoveling snow from our driveway and sidewalk, they really took care of everything and more. So grateful and would absolutely book again!”

About: Hi, I’m Ainsley! Dogs have been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my home was always filled with paws—giving me firsthand experience raising energetic puppies, keeping up with active adult dogs, and providing gentle, attentive care to sweet senior dogs. I’ve spent years pet-sitting for family members, treating their fur babies exactly like my own. Whether your dog needs a high-energy brisk walk, a slow and sniff-filled stroll, or just some extra patience and TLC, I’ve got you covered. I can’t wait to meet your pup and become their new favorite walking buddy! I have a fairly open schedule while school is out for the summer! I’m available most mornings for check-ins and walks, and most evenings for over night care. I’m willing to adapt to any space! I have plenty of experience with all types of animals, and am confident that I can care for yours.
About: I grew up with dogs since I was about 4! I have a big family with lots of aunts and uncles that rely on me to take care of their dogs while they are gone on trips. I love getting to know pets with all different personalities. I work 8-5 five days a week with rotating days. I go straight back to your home after work and am able to spend the rest of the night with your pets. I have a lunch in the middle of the work day I can check on the pets depending on distance. I am easy to reach outside of sleeping hours and can give any updates needed. I keep a close eye on your pets and keep in touch if anything seems out of the ordinary with them to take the best action.

“Ashley is absolutely amazing! She's very communicative, and you can tell she genuinely cares about the animals. She also took out my trash and did my dishes and a few other chores, which was a wonderful surprise. Most of all, the dogs were clearly happy and relaxed when I got home. I'll definitely be going with Ashley again!”

“Corona took great care of our dog while we were away. She sent lots of pictures and videos of a very happy dog! It made our vacation much more relaxing knowing he was being well-taken of!”

Traylor did an absolutely incredible job with our dogs and was very easy to adapt to our dog that has mega esophagus. Like other reviews have said, our house was left in a very clean state, and she even went above and beyond with cleaning the prepped dog food containers. We will be calling on her services again, for sure.

Sophie was a wonderful sitter to our 2 old pups! She made sure they were fed and taken out. She had to give medicine to one of our dogs with each meal and she was great at making sure it was all done how they are used to it. She cleaned up after herself and anytime I had a question she responded promptly. I would absolutely hire Sophie again as a dog sitter!!

There just arn't enough thank you's for the peace of mind that Christine gives us while we travel! Always up to date with the latest shenanigans the girls are doing and we know that they are safe and well cared for. They even get extra cuddles! Not to mention the house always is spotless when we get home and even the plants are cared for. Can't thank you enough Christine!!! We appreciate you SO much!

We contracted with Kerry to housesit with our 14.5 year old senior gal. Our last vacation was about eight years ago and we were very anxious about finding someone who would care for her with as much support as she’s used to receiving. Upon doing a meet & greet with Kerry, our fears were put to rest. After introducing himself, he immediately sat on the ground with our girl & waited patiently for her to approach him. He asked questions about her personality, habits, schedule, meals, etc while letting her get to know him. Between the meet & greet and our scheduled housesitting, they had several “walking dates” and soon grew familiar with each other. While we were out of town, Kerry sent photos and updates about walks, morning & evening routines, mealtimes, and he asked questions when necessary to ensure her needs and care were fully met. For anything that was a little new or unfamiliar, he took his time with her, giving her space & kindness to become comfortable with the activity. He also treated our home with respect. We’re so happy to have found Kerry! We would definitely recommend him for care, walks, housesitting for your furry family members. We’ll for sure work with him again.

Marcellene and her husband did wonderfully with our small zoo of dogs and cats, including a senior dog that needed medication and an overanxious dog. We met them in advance at the meet and greet and were pleased with their open communication. We received pictures and updates throughout the stay, multiple times a day, which was very important to us. They were adaptable and actively tried to be helpful with all of our requests. We came home to a clean house and happy, healthy animals. We also booked them separately for a last minute drop in to take our dogs in the backyard and they were super accommodating. We are very thankful.

We were a little nervous about leaving our two spoiled pups with someone new but Sami absolutely exceeded every expectation! This is her first time watching our dogs, and she took such wonderful care of them. She cuddled them, played with them, let Eden stay outside as long as she wanted, which is her favorite thing in the world and spoiled them exactly the way we do. We came home to happy, relaxed, and well loved dogs. You could tell they felt comfortable and cared for the entire time. Sami is thoughtful, communicative, and clearly a true dog lover. We felt completely knowing they were in such good hands. We will definitely be booking her again for future trips! Thank you so much for giving our furry kids the best weekend ever! Highly highly recommend.❤️

Caroline jumped in and saved the day for me as I was out of state, had a dog sitter cancel due to family stuff and was in a bind without service. She was able to stay with sawyer and without great communication on my end due to being camping in North Carolina. Would definitely recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South Ogden walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South Ogden maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Ogden choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
