About: I love walking and caring for dogs. I believe that regular exercise is important for every pet. I have been walking dogs for years. Over the past few months i have been providing daily care for my sisters two dogs. I have a flexible schedule and would love to be your pets favorite walker. I can fit your schedule very easily and will help your pet get appropriate exercise. I have been making sure my sisters dog got the vitamins and supplements he needed over the past few months when she was out of state.
“They took wonderful care of our animals and home while we were gone. Excellent communication, they left the house looking cleaner than when we left. Highly recommend. I would definitely rebook.”

“We have never left our pets for this long before so we were a bit nervous beforehand. Everything went great! We returned home to happy, well cared for pets. Thank you!!!!!”

“Traylor & Jason were so so good with our Tank while we were out of town! Their patience, knowledge, and attention to his extra need for space due to recent changes was absolutely the best. They moved at his pace and ensured his confidence and comfort. Lots of updates and photos helped us too while we were away. We will be calling on them again for sure. Thank y’all SO much for such good care of him!”

“Elva was a great house/pet sitter for us! This is the first time we have ever needed one for our 12 year old dog and we couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I appreciated that she was willing to come before we left to meet us and learn our dog's current routines. I came back home to the house still being clean and a happy dog. I will definitely reach out to Elva again for any upcoming trips!”

“Candace has watched my dogs twice now. They love her. She is very communicative and gives me updates morning and night. If something is wrong she lets us know right away! So glad we found her. 100% recommend.”

“Aubrey was great! She house sat and pet sat for us for 8 days. Our dog took to her right away! We also have a senior bunny who really only likes me, and she behaved as expected. She sent us pictures of the pets everyday, and was really respectful of the house. I would definitely hire Aubrey again! Thank you, Aubrey!”

“This gal hit a home run caring for my pup. I didn’t worry a single minute with Bailey by my fur baby’s side! She walked her daily before the temps were too hot and tended to her every need. I appreciated the photo updates as well! Bailey is an ALLSTAR!”

“Our usual dog sitter had to cancel on us last minute, so we were in a bind trying to find someone else to care for our sweet, special needs dog with less than a weeks notice. Big ask, especially last minute. Brandi was so quick to respond, happy to take on the job, and asked really good questions to ensure our doggo was well taken care of while we were gone. She sent pictures throughout our trip and made sure he had his medications at the times he needed them, and even took him to get a pup cup. She not only took great care of our dog, but our house as well. We came back to the house as we left it. She was kind, reliable, and we absolutely loved working with her. We will definitely be reaching out to her again.”

“I have booked with Ashley multiple times now. Having her as my go to dog sitter has been so amazing. I know when I am out of town everything is being very well taken care of. She is so amazing with my dog and sends the cutest pictures. I am so lucky I have her to be with Oliver while I am gone.”

“Jada was amazing house sitting to take care of our pup blue! He needs special medicine in his food and needs a few more potty times than most and we came home to a happy guy! Thank you Jada!”

About: I grew up with all sorts of animals my whole life and have always taken great care of them. I also worked as a vet tech for 2 years on small and large animals so I am well equipped in animal health knowledge. I am well trusted by family and friends to take care of pets of all shapes and sizes! I currently have school from 8-4 on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. I work mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-2. I am happy to provide any service that fits into that schedule. I am also able to provide bathroom breaks on my lunches! I am flexible with all sorts of care. I am comfortable caring for animals that are indoor, outdoor, or crated. I am happy to take your dogs for walks as well!
“Lyric stayed with my cat for 9 days and was more than willing to stay later in the day with him since my flight home got delayed. She sent pics and was very communicative throughout the whole process. She did a great job, was very trustworthy, and my cat loved her!”

“Shelly was so good with my dogs. She sent lots of pictures, which was great, because my dog Virginia is super timid and I was worried about her stressing out while I was gone. The dogs always looked happy and healthy in the pictures. Shelly was also very proactive in keeping me updated on how they were doing. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a good dog sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Riverdale
I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, 3 of which are seniors and one very fragile little dog. I have been leary about leaving them with anyone because of how much work they are. I hit the jackpot with Aubry. She was perfect. She had so much work to do with them and she did it all just the way she was asked to. Myy animals loved her and the was a bonus with my cats. I can not thank her enough or give her a high enough rating. She sent tons of pictures and gave me a play by play scenario of each pet. I loved her. She would definitely be my person for my next get away I have. Thank you Aubry so much!

Caroline jumped in and saved the day for me as I was out of state, had a dog sitter cancel due to family stuff and was in a bind without service. She was able to stay with sawyer and without great communication on my end due to being camping in North Carolina. Would definitely recommend!

Brenda took great care of my animals and home while we were away. She made sure they were stimulated enough, worked with the crazy puppy schedule and left my home the same if not better than I left it for her. I never leave my animals with someone I don't know but this was a wonderful experience, and if she is willing will use her again in the future.

Melia was a great sitter for our dogs. She was communicative with us regarding one of our dogs who had surgery a few weeks ago. Would have been a five star but the inconsistent house visits caused a bit of uncertainty for our older dogs who have to frequent the bathroom especially after eating. Recommend with a bit stricter schedule to follow

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Riverdale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Riverdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Riverdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
