“Jeff and Tammy took such good care of our dogs, we definitely will have them care for are dogs again! I’d recommend hiring them to dog sit. Also, we loved the dog pics we received daily”

“McKenna is absolutely amazing! McKenna house sat our two fur babies (dogs), fish and plants for about 10 days while we were out of the country. One of our fur babies is a high energy/maintenance, shy and anxious girl who needs a lot of extra lovings. McKenna did a phenomenal job giving her everything she needed (lots of play time, cuddles and she administered her veterinary prescribed medications). Both of our dogs were very well cared for and content when we got home from our trip! Not only were the puppies well taken care of but our home was left in pristine condition. McKenna left our home meticulous! My fish and plants were in great shape too! McKenna sent us daily updates and she was prompt to notify us of any questions/concerns. Needless to say, she will be our go to house sitter from now on! I honestly can’t express how much she helped us out and it was so nice that our animals could stay in the comfort of their own home with a warm smile while we were out of town. I cannot recommend her more!”

“Liz did a wonderful job watching our kids. We have one large dog and one small dog. Liz did a great job of catering to each of their needs. We could see through the pics that she sent with updates that they were happy and well cared for making it easy to relax while on vacation. And we came home to a clean house and happy dogs. We will definately reach out to her again when we need a sitter.”

“Xion was amazing! They went above and beyond in home sitting our dog over our Thanksgiving vacation. From near-daily text and photo updates, to even shoveling snow from our driveway and sidewalk, they really took care of everything and more. So grateful and would absolutely book again!”

“Jada was amazing house sitting to take care of our pup blue! He needs special medicine in his food and needs a few more potty times than most and we came home to a happy guy! Thank you Jada!”

“Traylor & Jason were so so good with our Tank while we were out of town! Their patience, knowledge, and attention to his extra need for space due to recent changes was absolutely the best. They moved at his pace and ensured his confidence and comfort. Lots of updates and photos helped us too while we were away. We will be calling on them again for sure. Thank y’all SO much for such good care of him!”

“Grace was lovely! Our girl, Sammy, loves her. Grace does a great job of keeping Sammy very active while we are gone. Sammy also had an eye infection that required daily drops and Grace did a great job of administering the drops for us while we were away.”

“It was our first house sitting and while there were some hiccups and an unexpected situation both Shayla and Derek did amazing. 20/10 ⭐️ Excellent communication and frequent updates ✅ Puppies were happy and anxiety free ✅ House was clean ✅ If you’re looking for someone who will love your fur babies like their own look no further. Very highly recommended!!”

“Lindsay is great! We have three big dogs with totally different personalities and interests so they can be a bit of a handful. She followed our routine well, kept us updated, and went above and beyond loving them while we were out of town. Would recommend to anyone :)”

“Elva was a great house/pet sitter for us! This is the first time we have ever needed one for our 12 year old dog and we couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I appreciated that she was willing to come before we left to meet us and learn our dog's current routines. I came back home to the house still being clean and a happy dog. I will definitely reach out to Elva again for any upcoming trips!”

“Madison was incredible! We felt so comfortable having her in our home. Our pitty is a senior with some medical issues. Madison was so confident in giving her medicine and giving her extra love while we were away. We also got regular messages to let us know that things were going well and photos! It’s always so fun to get photos! Madison also happily helped a neighbor that needed help with a package. We have a close knit neighborhood, so it was so nice that she would help. We will definitely use Madison in the future and will recommend her to our dog friends!”

“Laura took amazing care of my dog and was so easy to work with. This was my first time using Rover and Laura’s attention to detail made it so easy to enjoy my vacation! She’s awesome!”
“We couldn’t be happier with Zoe’s incredible care for our baby doggie, Caramel, while we were away on a family trip to Hawaii! From the moment we left, we knew Caramel was in the best hands. Zoe treated her like royalty, giving her so much love and snuggles that it almost made us jealous! We especially appreciated the regular updates, complete with photos of Caramel’s adorable antics and health check-ins. It brought us so much peace of mind knowing our sweet girl was happy and thriving while we were away. Zoe went above and beyond in every way, and we can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will love your pet as much as you do, Zoe is the one!”

“What an awesome sitter. My dogs were well taken care of. Plus after the weekend she stripped her bedding and put it in the laundry room. Everything was clean. Definitely will request her again”

“Baileigh did a wonderful job with our cat Babette! Babette's mood was warm and happy when we returned. She warmed up to her right away. Baileigh kept us updated with cute pics and our place was just as we left upon return!”

“Anna is so wonderful. She's sweet, funny and really really good with our boy. He immediately loved her and feels really safe (he is sometimes very shy around strangers). She also went above and beyond to take care of him and his fear quirks, like realizing he didn't really want to drink inside of the house today and taking his water bowl outside. I love how she noticed what he needed. Anna's communication is also amazing, we got a bunch of updates and photos while we were away and she was hanging out with him, and I really appreciate that. We will definitely ask her to pup sit again and highly recommend her.”

“Kelsey and Michael were great. We went out of town for 12 days and Kelsey stayed with our dogs and sent me daily updates and pictures. She came to our house twice before we left for vacation to meet us and our dogs. I will definitely be using their services again in the future. We have never used a service like this and Kelsey allowed us to enjoy our vacation knowing our dogs were being taken care of.”

“I had a fantastic experience with Alexander as my dog sitter through Rover. He was incredibly attentive and really took the time to bond with my dog. From our first meeting, it was clear that he genuinely cared about providing the best care possible. During my time away, Alexander sent me regular updates and photos, which eased my worries. My dog came home happy and well-exercised, a testament to Alexander's dedication. I can’t recommend him enough—he's a true gem for any pet owner!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fruit Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fruit Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fruit Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
