About: Hi, I'm Melissa! I graduated from Stanford two years ago and now work remotely in San Francisco. I've grown up with pets my whole life, including two pit bull/lab mixes, guinea pigs, and even frogs, so caring for furry friends has always been part of my normal day-to-day. Some facts about me: - When I'm back home in Sunnyvale, you'll usually find me sneaking off with our 12-year-old pup Maddie for long neighborhood walks or a park vacation. She might not look the part, but boy can she spend hours chasing around a tennis ball. - I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes, from tiny warriors to big, enthusiastic walkers. Maddie is a 60+ lb pit bull mix, so I'm very used to strong and energetic dogs. - I dogsit for my parents regularly in both Sunnyvale and San Francisco, so I've got a solid routine down for feeding, grooming, and walks. - I've lived in North Beach for the past two years and know the area well. Your pup will think they're a North Beach native! - Yes, I am a huge fan of dog hugs and kisses. I currently work remote with a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of time to play with and care for your pet throughout the day. I’m available every day in the afternoons and am very flexible on weekends for longer walks or more involved care. I love taking dogs to the park (Washington Square is a must!) to play fetch, go on nice long walks, or even just listen to music while they sniff around and explore! You can rest assured your dog will definitely get both attention and exercise with me. I always keep dogs within my sight, whether I’m working at the counter or quickly checking my phone, they’re always at least in my peripheral vision. I don’t feed dogs any table or counter food and stick closely to their regular feeding schedule. I also make sure they get routine walks so they can get fresh air, burn energy, and stay healthy. When we’re out, I’m very cautious and keep dogs on leash at all times, and I avoid other pets unless the owner has said their dog is okay socializing. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first.
“Sarine was very sweet and I appreciated her flexibility helping with my pup on short-notice! She was very communicative and gave me status updates on how Pico was doing whenever she saw him. Super helpful when I’m away from him at work!”

About: Hi! I'm an artist working from home who loves spending time with pets and has a little black cat at home. I often pet sit for friends, from short visits to boarding for several days, so I’m very comfortable with daily routines like walks, feeding, playtime, and just keeping pets company so they feel safe and happy. I also tend to take way too many photos, so you can expect lots of photo updates while I'm with your pet! I work from home doing freelance work, so my schedule is pretty flexible and I’m able to plan my day around pet care, whether that’s walks, drop-ins, or staying with them for longer periods. I’m available for boarding, house sitting, and walks, and I like keeping a consistent routine so pets feel comfortable and not rushed. I live in an apartment right next to Washington Square Park and Coit Tower, so it’s really easy to get dogs out for nice long walks and some additional short walks to get some fresh air! I also have a 3-year-old cat who’s used to being around dogs. I keep my place clean and calm, and I pay attention to how each pet is feeling so they’re comfortable. I’m also happy to follow any routines or instructions so things feel familiar for them.

About: I've lived and worked on farms, raising small and large animals, since I was born. Over the years I have trained, worked with, and pet sat dogs of a huge variety of breeds--from Corgis to Great Danes. I like to match a pet's needs-I love an excuse to take a dog for a hike, but I'm also happy to cuddle with a more laid-back, lovey pup. While I am not a veterinarian, I have some history with caring for senior animals and animals with challenging health conditions. I am currently taking a break from full time employment and subletting a room in my friend's apartment in order to visit with some sick family in the Bay Area, so I have unlimited time to spend with your pet. I am a very respectful, clean, and tidy person. I don't make myself too comfortable in anyone's home, and would prefer to take a pup (or just myself) on as many excursions as it makes sense. I am young and active and I love coming back to the Bay Area and really getting out and about (not hunkering down for too long). That being said--if a pet needs more laid back TLC in their own home, I am happy to circle back and check in frequently, as I am always content to get to know a neighborhood better and explore in a close radius to the home.

Additionally, she has been flexible and able to help me out in a pinch when I've needed to book last minute. About: I am a responsible, experienced dog/cat owner-lover and will treat yours like my own. I was raised in a family that had dogs including 3 dachshunds, a mutt, and a chow over the years. As an adult I have been the loving pet parent to three adult cats consecutively. Very comfortable around cats and dogs. Available for dog-walking, cat/dog drop-in's, and daytime extended stay drop-in's / house-sitting (no overnights). I have worked remotely for over ten years so have a very flexible schedule. Walking your dog or visiting your cat would be a pleasure and a chance for some fresh air and exercise. I do this for supplemental income during my free time and the opportunity to visit different neighborhoods. I am available daytime hours, not overnight (mid-morning til before sunset). I will give your cat or dog as much or little attention in your home as you (or they!) specify. Reliable, trustworthy. Not able to care for your pets at my home.
North Beach dog parents share their Rover experiences
Joslyn was available and flexible on a last minute basis when I was scrambling for a dog walker! She offered a meet and greet which I always appreciate and on the evening I needed her with my dog, she provided lots of photos and even told me my cat was doing well when she picked him up for an hour long walk! As someone who has anxiety with leaving my dog to someone else’s care, she was so warm and genuine that I felt reassured that she was the right one! Joslyn was awesome and I would definitely rebook her again!

Selena was amazing! She took great care of my dog Lucky on his first walk through Rover. He was a little nervous at first but she made him feel comfortable and he seemed to have a great walk. She provided live updates to let me know how he was doing and took plenty of cute photos so I knew he was in loving hands. She is also very kind and friendly. Would definitely rebook!

I made a last-minute booking with Javier and not only did he respond immediately, but he took great care walking Quattro. When my dog expressed a bit of reluctance to leave with a stranger, Javier took the time to help my dog get more acquainted with him. Highly recommend.
