“Cheyauna exceeded expectations! She was so communicative, she handled my 5 yr old and my puppy with extreme care and specific to their needs, and she even went above and beyond to come before the trip to meet and play with them for comfort. Anything that we asked she did that and more. Now that we have used Cheyauna we honestly couldn’t imagine going with anyone else in the future. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!”

“I was nervous leaving Willow with a stranger for the first time but the detailed updates and attentiveness Margaret gave me and Willow eased that. I would definitely recommend Margaret!”

About: Prepared for all dogs large and small. I have experience with puppies and seniors, large and small breeds. My entire life I've had dogs; Golden Retrievers, Yorkshire Terriers, multiple mutts, Siberian Huskies. I have a lot of experience with high energy dogs and understand how important consistent, high impact exercise is for maintaining a calm and happy pet! I'm fully prepared to handle whatever your dog needs. I'm currently working from home and am available for pet walking or drop ins most days whenever needed. I am extremely flexible time and can make adjustments to fit your dogs needs. If caring for a dog in their home, it would always just be me and the dog. I follow all house rules, and am very adaptable to both the needs of the dogs, and dog owners. In terms of walks, I spend so much time on my daily walks with my dog, that I am hyperaware of warning signs from other dogs and am able to avoid any potetial confrontations.
About: My name is Maria! I have owned and cared for other fur babies for over 40 years. I am also a local business owner and swim coach looking to make some extra money for my many Disney trips! I am a business owner, so I can make my own schedule. This allows me to be flexible with my schedule, so that I can be there for your pet's needs! My standard services include visits in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I also offer overnight care and can be flexible with your schedule as things come up!
About: I’m detail-oriented and observant—cats are subtle, and I notice the small things that matter. You’ll receive regular updates and photos, and I’ll flag anything unusual right away. Most importantly, I don’t force interaction. Whether your cat wants playtime, quiet companionship, or just someone reliable to keep their routine steady, I meet them where they are. I have full availability on weekends, which allows for extended visits, longer walks, playtime, and flexible scheduling. During the weekdays, I’m available in the mornings and evenings, making me a great fit for breakfast and dinner feedings, walks, medication schedules, and nighttime check-ins. Because I plan my day intentionally, I’m punctual, dependable, and able to stick closely to each pet’s normal routine—something that helps reduce stress, especially for cats, seniors, and pets who thrive on consistency. I care for pets by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible, whether they’re in my home or in a client’s home. I focus on consistency, safety, and individualized attention so pets stay comfortable and stress-free. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions exactly—feeding schedules, walks, litter or potty routines, medications, and any house rules. I keep the environment clean and calm, make sure pets get appropriate exercise or playtime, and monitor their behavior, appetite, and overall wellbeing. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners know how their pet is doing. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and supervised environment with plenty of attention, structured play, and rest time. I introduce pets slowly if others are present, separate when needed, and adjust care based on age, energy level, and temperament. Across all services, I prioritize clear communication, attention to detail, and treating every pet as an individual—not a one-size-fits-all routine.
“Mackenzie is an amazing and dependable sitter. Highly recommend. Communicates quickly and easily. Does her best with my 2 little chis. Can count on her 100%. Thank you Mackenzie!”

“I was looking for some help with a very elderly kitty ~ so he really needs someone who can be very gentle with him, and at the same time very competent. Jessi is absolutely both. I would definitely call her again! Also, I had to search at the very last moment, which turned out to be no problem!”

“My kitty was quite elderly, with some special needs. So when I had a last-minute need for a drop-in visit, I wanted to be extra sure to find someone very reliable, willing to do meds, and very gentle with the kitty. Emily is all that, and more! I would happily call on her again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Newport
Iris was FANTASTIC!!! She was easy to communicate with and loves your animals like her own. She is attentive to little things like an open window in the rain so your place is equally taken care. Could not be happier with our experience - we got so many great photos of our kitty enjoying playtime and treats while we were gone!

I highly recommend! Cheyauna was wonderful! She came to my house twice a day for 8 days to feed and check on my elderly cat. She was immediately responsive to my request and came to my house to meet me and my cat prior to my leaving. She communicated consistently every day and sent pictures of what my cat ate. All of this made me feel so comforted to know my cat was well cared for! I found it more difficult to a "cat" sitter on Rover, but Cheyauna clearly loves all animals and did a fantastic job.
Stevie-Rae did a great job taking care of my cats while I was away. I felt 100% confident that they were well taken care of. She sent pictures each day to show that they warmed up to her even though they are very, very shy around people they don’t know. I highly recommend her to you.

Mackenzie was absolutely amazing! Took such great care of our 2 kitties plus my son’s cat who was staying with us! She was punctual, responsive and sent us updates and pictures! We will absolutely use her again and highly recommend her for all your pet sitting needs! Thank you so much Mackenzie 🐾

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newport. On Rover:

- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
