Hey fur babies! (in Newport, RI)
Hello, my name is Jan. Over the past 15 years, Rover has become a wonderful way for me to get to know and care for a wide variety of pups. Dogs (and cats) have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember...we've had all shapes & sizes, from new puppies to seniors. I do believe our pets are like children, beloved members of the family. Although I don't currently have a fur baby of my own, I do have so much love to give to yours. I would enjoy the opportunity to walk your pup, take care at your house, or welcome him/her into my loving home. Thank you! I am up with the sun, so I will be ready for a walk as soon as your pup wakes up. Walks and outdoor playtime during the day, as weather allows. My backyard is fenced on all sides, and I ALWAYS stay outside with dogs as they play/take care of business. Dogs are allowed on any furniture and will have mostly the run of the whole house, as appropriate.

Jan is fantastic! She made me feel so comfortable, especially leaving our new rescue for the first time. She was so wonderful with him and made sure to keep me updated with pictures and how he was doing overall. I highly recommend her. And now my boy has a new Auntie to care for him when we are out of town!

Schedule
I work part time outside of the house, so at times your pup will be at home for a couple hours. They are allowed to sleep on the couch and look out the window. I do allow dogs to sleep with me, if that’s what they’re used to.

My yard is completely fenced to keep them safe. Additionally I do have a large crate if necessary and will fill the baby pool on hots days.
A typical day
We live in a very dog-friendly community, and love to walk. Your pup will enjoy 2-3 adventures per day, with the chance to greet people and other dogs along the way. If he/she likes to go for a ride in the car, we can run errands together. With your permission, I will even take them to the beach or for a walk in the woods. Of course, if chilling out on the couch is more their speed, I can accommodate that as well.

- I know it can be hard to leave your baby with someone new. My goal is to provide a pleasant, stress-free environment for your dog while you travel. I would love for him/her to feel like one of the family in my home. In turn, you will be able relax & smile as I send you pictures of all the fun things we're doing! Whatever I can do to ensure health & happiness, please let me know. Tell me their little habits & quirks, favorite chew toys, joys & fears...all of this information will be helpful in keeping your pet peaceful and safe until you return.
