“Hannah helped us out agreeing to a drop-in visit on short notice. She did a great job tending to our 10 ½ yr. old chocolate lab, fed him, gave him his medications, walked and played with him and sent photos during her visit. We were pleased and appreciative of her help and would definitely recommend her services.”

“Tallon did a wonderful job caring for our cat while we were away! I will call her again when we need a sitter! She sent pics and let me know each time she visited. Thank you Tallyn!”

“Hayley looked after our dog for a long weekend while we were away. She was fantastic! She did a great job writing updates and sharing photos, and also did a lovely job engaging with our neighbors! Thanks Hayley!”

“Hayley took great care of our cat while we were away. Our cat hides when someone she doesn’t know well comes over, but Haley still did her best to comfort her without causing too much stress and rolled treats to her under the bed. Hayley is great at communicating and gave detailed feedback each day about how much our cat was eating, etc. She is compassionate and reliable. I highly recommend this wonderful, kind sitter.”

“I needed a sitter last minute, came across Jordan's profile, and was so pleased with the care she gave to my cat Glinda!!!! She was communicative, reliable and flexible!! I will without a doubt use Jordan in the future and would highly recommend her!”

“It was so nice meeting Alicia! Our cats were in great hands while we were away. She sent us regular updates so we never had to worry how they were doing. Would definitely book with her again!”

“Being away for two weeks was made so much better knowing Michelle was there to spend time with our Cooper. Seeing him look so happy every day made our vacation even more enjoyable”

About: My family are puppy raisers for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, so I’ve had lots of experience with young dogs and basic training (not certified). I’ve house sat and taken care of pets for years and dealt with pets both old and young, and have even navigated vet visits with an old pup after a lightning storm anxiety attack. I go on daily walks and would love to have a buddy! I work 6 days a week usually only from 4:30pm-9:30pm, but once or twice a week I do work a split shift where I go in from 9:30-12:30, and then again at 4:30. I am always free Tuesdays. I’ve cared for energetic dogs who just want to get out and play, and calm dogs who just want a couch snuggle. Every pet is different in their care needs but I’ve given medications, baths, and cleaned up messes for all types of pets.
“Lucas was great, talkative, and friendly. Asked all the right questions and sent us great photos of our cat. He made us super comfortable, and truly one of the best pet sitters we have had. We can’t wait to work with Lucas again, 10 out of 10 would recommend.”

“We came home to some happy puppies today! Shannon is dependable, easy to communicate with, and Is excellent with our three pups. Can defiantly tell she loves animals. Highly recommend!”

“Heather was wonderful! She came out and met Sampson before our planned services and her “check-in” seems to have gone off without a hitch. Heather’s updates were thorough and timely!”

About: Doggie Daycare, Private Boarding, Pet Photography all in a country setting with a huge fenced-in yard! Every dog is treated like our own while staying with us. You provide the food, we provide all the comforts of home. About this sitter: I love all animals but dogs have a special place in my heart for dogs! In business since 1996 and CPR certified. All dogs must get along with other dogs and be kid friendly.

“Paloma was available on short notice for an evening drop-in visit and even called ahead to ensure proper care instructions were followed. She was punctual and responsive while taking care of our senior dog and young puppy, even checking on our cats as well. She left the house in order and the pets happy. We will definitely book again!”

“Madalyn has been absolutely amazing, she has been very responsive and helpful with my dog's needs. She's also been very flexible with any changes. She's been very responsible and we're happy to continue using her services anytime we travel”

“Mary was beyond phenomenal taking care of my puppers. At no point was I ever worried for them. I always knew Mary was doing the best care. I will be a return customer and again, I can't thank her enough for the care given.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was very young. I watched my own dog and her siblings as well as neighbors or friends dogs many times. My dog Maggie actually passed away last year so I have plenty experience with senior dog care and puppies as well. Maggie was a medium-large dog and was 14 when she passed we loved her and made her as comfortable as possible until the end. I've also watched friends and neighbors cats as well so I have experience with both pets! I have class most mornings at 8am so i'm up early and I finish class early! I'm available monday, wed, friday at 1 pm and my Sundays and Tuesdays are free so i'm available all day!!! I have a fenced in yard and plenty of space within the home and a good location for frequent walks! I can crate dogs if needed in your home or stay/watch them while outside, whatever needed.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Narragansett
Julia did a super job! She took great care of my baby girl Orwell! She was very accommodating and helped me figure out my booking confusion. She took lots of pictures of my baby while I was away and provided thorough progress notes. She played with and cuddled Orwell - Orwell really liked her!

I could not be happier with the care our cat received! From start to finish, Tallyn was reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring. We received regular photos and messages, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy and professional, I’d recommend Tallyn without hesitation.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Narragansett. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
