“Karen and Chris were fantastic! They are such a nice family that took excellent care of our pup. They were great with communication and pictures. I knew our dog was safe and loved! Highly recommend!!!”

“I am so grateful for Isabel's care of Oliver! Oliver was in good hands with her. Isabel helped take care of Oliver during a difficult time of my life. I feel incredibly blessed to have had a petsitter like her and did not need to worry about Oliver during my sickness. She was very responsive and great to work with. Oliver always comes back happy and healthy.”

“Natalia was great about sending pictures and videos of my dog while I was away. It was our first time leaving her and she helped put my mind at ease, and it made my kids happy to know their dog was well taken care of!”

“Django had a great time staying with Ashley and her family, which included 2 new doggie friends! She was very responsive with any questions we had, and provided us with daily photos of his activities. We would definitely have Django stay there again, and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for care for their dog! Thank you, Ashley!”

About: I’ve pet sat with my moms business since I was about 10, and over 18 years have taken care of many animals. I love to play with the animals, my goal is that when I’m rehired the come to the door to greet me to play with them. I work part time and can do mornings and overnights before and after work. I also get breaks on shifts that I can stop in and visit. I cannot do my own home, but can take care of the animals at their home where they’re more comfortable. Besides just feeding them, walking them or taking them out, it’s important to play with them and keep them entertained. Which always entertains me.
“I can’t recommend Addison enough—I’d give 10 stars. She is incredibly sweet, caring, and always responsive, which makes the entire experience stress-free. My dog Luna absolutely loves spending time with her, and it’s clear that Addison genuinely cares about the dogs. Whenever I’m away, I have complete peace of mind knowing Luna is in such great hands. Addison consistently goes above and beyond, and it really shows in how happy and comfortable Luna is when she’s with her. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy and attentive to care for your pet, Addison is the one.”

“Leanne and Michael were amazing! They took great care of our senior dog and sent tons of updates and pictures while we were away. I truly appreciate the care they took with our dog. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends!”

“Tara was an amazing sitter for our dog Luna! She was easy to schedule with and sent photo/status updates throughout the stay. We would definitely have her sit Luna for us again and would recommend her to others!”

“I'm fortunate to have found Celina when I needed a pet sitter for the weekend! It was a pleasure meeting them, as they were kind and understanding when I expressed my concerns about Otto and leaving him in a new environment. I liked that they spend the time to get to know me and my pup before committing. Smokey is also a great pup, he's so sweet and clever and it was great watching him adapt his play with Otto. It's also clear that Celina and Smokey have a great relationship and love each other a bunch. They do great with establishing boundaries and advocating for the pups when it's needed. Celina also sent me photos of Otto's stay, which were all adorable to see! Communication was easy and simple, which I'm very appreciative of. Overall, it was a great experience working with them and I will definitely book again :)”

“Karissa is very caring and will love your dogs like her own for the time she has them. She sends pictures at least once a day so you know they’re doing well. My dog had a great weekend while I was away. Would book again if I need it! Thank you so much!”
“Jean is an absolutely lovely lady and I felt so comfortable leaving my Lil Emmett with her while I was in Montana. She sent pictures and updated me daily about Emmett. I appreciate her and will definitely book with her in the future. 🐶🐾🌸💕”

“Your dog is in great hands with Malerie and her family. They treated my pup as she was thier own. She provided photos and videos the whole time. I would use her again in a heart beat”

“Jessica is fabulous. Bashi loved being at her home and she took such good care of her. I was able to relax and not worry about Bashi on my away weekend. If I need to board her again I will call on Jessica”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Newport
Kolby is hands down the best pet sitter you could hope to find. From our meet-and-greet, I sensed Ben would be in great hands. She has a wonderful setup with a fenced yard and a welcoming, spacious, tidy home. Scout is the sweetest, most playful, well-mannered companion. You can immediately see how much Kolby genuinely loves and understands dogs. Ben's stay with Kolby and Scout somehow exceeded my already high expectations. Kolby treated him like one of her own, with plenty of exercise, playtime with both dogs and people, enrichment, snuggles, and love. I mentioned being worried about the heat, and she made homemade frozen treats for the dogs. She proactively sent thoughtful daily updates with lots of photos, which gave me total peace of mind. Kolby and I joked about how Ben was at summer camp, but it truly was that. He didn't have an adequate stay, he had an enriching stay. When I picked Ben up, he was happy to see me... then immediately ran back to keep playing with Scout. Ben came home happy, relaxed, and honestly better behaved than when I dropped him off. I couldn't ask for a better experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to trust Kolby with him again. If you're considering booking with her, do it, you and your dog will be so glad you did.

Lillian was incredibly friendly, communicative, and clearly cared deeply about our dog’s well-being. Our dog is older and ended up getting sick while staying with her, and she handled everything exceptionally well. She kept us updated, was attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and properly cared for. That level of responsibility and compassion meant a lot to us. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Theresa took amazing care of our boxer! From the moment we dropped her off, we knew she was in great hands. She went on plenty of walks, got lots of attention, and we received wonderful updates showing all the fun she was having. Theresa is incredibly kind, genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and her responsiveness is outstanding. We always felt completely at ease knowing our pup was safe, happy, and well-loved. Highly recommend Theresa!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
