“Christina was the best Rover we have ever had! We felt so comfortable leaving Bo with Christina while we were traveling overseas. We received daily updates and Bo looked like he was living his best life and getting plenty of exercise. As soon as we got home, Bo slept all day!! Will definitely be bringing Bo back!”
“Willow had a great stay with Dana! We came back to pick something up that I left and Willow couldn’t contain her excitement. Dana is very prompt to respond and was able to accommodate a last minute request for us. Willow came back exhausted after her 3 night stay! This is a good fit for dogs that love other dogs (there were at least 6 other dogs while Willow was there). Lots of room to run and play so it’s like non stop daycare.”

“Yunshu took great care of our pup and would 100% recommend. She sent lots of picture and video updates ensuring us that Butter was settled and being loved on. Intend to rebook at the next opportunity.”

“I can’t say enough great things about Armitage. They take such amazing care of Kharma every single time. Even when Kharma had to stay really late, they were incredibly accommodating and made sure he was comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. It truly gives me peace of mind knowing he’s in such good hands. At this point, Armitage is the first sitter I call every time without hesitation. I honestly wouldn’t trust anyone else with Kharma. The level of care, consistency, and genuine love they show means everything to me.”

“Erica is a dog whisperer. She can calm even the most anxious dogs. Her whole family loves to have these guests in the house and keeps them busy. I am do happy she moved back to RI so I have a safe place for me leave my fur baby.”

“I couldn't be more happy with the care my puppy received while staying with Chris & Whitney! He sent daily pics and updates to let me know everything was going okay, he was responsive with communications, and he kept a close eye on my pup while he enjoyed special play time with other dogs.”

“Absolutely fantastic experience. We needed a last minute sitter and they were responsive and accommodating. Our doc is skittish but they seemed to make him a part of their family while he was with them. And their dogs are so friendly and cute to pets and people alike. Janay and Antonio will be our fort choice pet sitting from now on!”

“Karen and Chris were fantastic! They are such a nice family that took excellent care of our pup. They were great with communication and pictures. I knew our dog was safe and loved! Highly recommend!!!”

“My dog Theo had a great stay with Lindsey! She was very accommodating to his specific needs with leash reactivity and gave him a daily antibiotic that he needed to help fight an infection. She also accepted our request with only a week or so advance notice, this was a life saver for us! She sent daily updates on his food/med schedule, their plans for the day and plenty of photo video updates. She took him to a great beach spot in the local state park. He had a blast! I would absolutely recommend Lindsey for your pet sitting needs!”

“Natalia was great with our boxer. She had so much fun playing with her Corgi and came home happy and tired (always a good sign!). Natalia sent lots of pictures and updates, which we really appreciated. It was clear our girl was well cared for and getting plenty of attention. Would absolutely recommend her and would definitely book again.”

About: I have had dogs all my life. I have taken care of all different breads and sizes. I can handle large/strong dogs as well as puppies that need extra attention. We have kids and our own dog (Beira, the Scottish Terrier) so I know how important good, easy care is. As well as patience and attention. I am available during most days for quick care and walks built around school and kid activities. I have my own car and can make the trips or even transport if needed. Overnight care can be discussed as I'm open to it under a week long. I am flexible enough to meet your pet care needs. Basic walks and play, feeding, medicine distribution, and anything else you need. I myself am active so playing isn't an issue or even giving baths.

“Maddy came through for me when I needed a last minute dog sitter over 4th of July weekend and she took excellent care of my 2 dogs. She went above and beyond! I'd confidently leave Charlie and Rota in her care again.”

About: I’ve pet sat with my moms business since I was about 10, and over 18 years have taken care of many animals. I love to play with the animals, my goal is that when I’m rehired the come to the door to greet me to play with them. I work part time and can do mornings and overnights before and after work. I also get breaks on shifts that I can stop in and visit. I cannot do my own home, but can take care of the animals at their home where they’re more comfortable. Besides just feeding them, walking them or taking them out, it’s important to play with them and keep them entertained. Which always entertains me.
“Ollie had another great stay with “Aunt” Jean. She takes care of him as though he were her own pet and sends us regular updates. It’s so nice to know he is well taken care of and in good hands when we have to travel.”

“Tara saved the day! Our family needed quick assistance with an unexpected hospital stay. She was flexible and super helpful with providing updates and extending the stay as needed. Our dog was sad she had to leave! Thank you so much!”

“Karissa is very caring and will love your dogs like her own for the time she has them. She sends pictures at least once a day so you know they’re doing well. My dog had a great weekend while I was away. Would book again if I need it! Thank you so much!”
“Ziara watched our golden for us for one night while visiting Cape May NJ. She was great in communicating and sending us pics of our baby. I would highly recommend her. We would use her again if ever down there. Thank you Ziara🤠”

Jennifer was a wonderful sitter for Leo! ♥️ Leo is often a little restless his first night away from us, and Jennifer slept with Leo on the couch to calm him down. She was also very responsive and communicative — we appreciated all the updates and photos. We are grateful Jennifer took such good care of Leo so that we could take a trip to visit one of our (human) sons! ☺️☺️

Lillian was incredibly friendly, communicative, and clearly cared deeply about our dog’s well-being. Our dog is older and ended up getting sick while staying with her, and she handled everything exceptionally well. She kept us updated, was attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and properly cared for. That level of responsibility and compassion meant a lot to us. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Theresa took amazing care of our boxer! From the moment we dropped her off, we knew she was in great hands. She went on plenty of walks, got lots of attention, and we received wonderful updates showing all the fun she was having. Theresa is incredibly kind, genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and her responsiveness is outstanding. We always felt completely at ease knowing our pup was safe, happy, and well-loved. Highly recommend Theresa!

We cannot recommend Kolby enough! We dropped the ball on arranging care for our dog, Penny during our wedding weekend. Not only did we need someone to watch Penny, but also needed someone to bring her to our venue, as she was an important part of our wedding ceremony. On very short notice, we found Kolby through Rover, and she exceeded every expectation. From the moment we met her, it was clear how much she loves dogs and makes them feel safe and at home. She went above and beyond to care for Penny, kept us updated with daily photos, and ensured everything went smoothly on our big day. Thanks to Kolby, Penny was happy, cared for, and our wedding went off without a hitch!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
