“Carolina is simply amazing. She is so accommodating and trustworthy. I had at least two updates, pictures, and videos of my little guy. Her family is wonderful, loving, and caring. I will be using her again on our next vacation.”

“Eve was great! She and her family clearly care about the pets they sit. I received photos and updates daily about how Coco was doing and it was obvious she felt welcome and at home. Eve was flexible and accommodating about pick-up and drop-off times and made the entire process a breeze. Will definitely trust her with Coco again. Thanks Eve!”

“Best pet sitter on Rover!! Ok so she’s the only sitter I’ve used but trust me she’s the only sitter you need! Right from the start Anely was great! She was very accommodating of every request and special need that was required for my dog and I immediately felt like I was leaving her with family. Communication was prompt and she kept me updated throughout the day with texts and pictures about how Ruby was doing. When I picked her up after the weekend she was calm and happy and I could tell she was in good hands and enjoyed herself. I will without a doubt book with Anely in the future and you should too. Your pet will thank you!!”

“Emily is a phenomenal sitter. I booked at the last minute and she was so gracious and ready to help. Her care for my pup was top tier! I could not ask for a better person and sitter to take care of my pup. Emily was attentive, communicative and made my pup feel at home. I HIGHLY recommend Emily to take care of your pup. I’ll definitely book again.”

“My dogs LOVE it at Briana’s! Prior to their overnight stay, we scheduled a day of daycare to get them used to everything and when we came back to the overnight stay, the dogs couldn’t get out of the car fast enough to get to her front door. They were so excited to come back, and says a lot!”

“Paige is friendly, professional and her lovely home is set up perfectly for pet sitting. She sent me daily updates including pictures of her kids loving up my precious pup. And while he didn't leave the house for walks, she has an adequate fenced in yard and he was able to come in and out of the house freely. I felt completely at ease knowing that he was well taken care of since she has 4 children who were all respectful and great kids!”

“Cathy was absolutely amazing with boarding my 10 y/o daschund for 2 weeks. This was my first time apart from her and she 100% set my anxieties at ease. She is a loving, caring sitter and I hugely appreciate the care she gave to my little pup.”

“Ashley is Absolutely amazing dog sitter! From the moment we met, I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in their care. They were attentive, loving, and kept me updated with messages and photos. My dog was happy, well cared for, and clearly loved. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again—highly recommend!”

“This was my first time being away from Stevie for longer than 8 hours and I was very anxious about it. Zachary sent me photo updates everyday and it was very helpful with easing my anxiety!!! Stevie had a great time and I would 100% recommend Zachary for all your doggy boarding needs!!!”

“Dana's boarding home is a pet oasis!! Our pets returned to us as if they had received some sort of week long puppy spa treatment, they were calm, happy and just overall well. Our neurotic belgian shepherd finally learned to relax and literally returned to us a well adjusted dog. We are so grateful: Thank you Dana!!!”

“Stephanie did a wonderful job with my two dogs while I was out of town for several nights. I got multiple pictures each day. They were in her care and they got plenty of exercise. She was very communicative regarding some trouble. One of my dogs got into at no fault of her own. It all worked out wonderfully because of her care and attention, and the dogs continued their boarding experience in style. I would definitely use Stephanie again next time I go out of town, as I highly recommend her.”

“Jackie did a superb job hosting my dog for the past week! My dog was not well socialized when he was a puppy and does not always do well with new people and surroundings. However, he warmed up to Jackie and her family immediately, and had a great stay. I received messages with pictures of Willis 3 or 4 times daily. He was so happy, clearly enjoying all the attention and love he was given. I highly recommend Jackie for private boarding of your dog. I hope that she will be available the next time the next time I need a place for Willis to stay.”

“Christina was the best Rover we have ever had! We felt so comfortable leaving Bo with Christina while we were traveling overseas. We received daily updates and Bo looked like he was living his best life and getting plenty of exercise. As soon as we got home, Bo slept all day!! Will definitely be bringing Bo back!”
“Lisa and her daughter were fantastic with my Pug/Jack Russell Terrier mix, Maddox. They went on walks and adventures at the park, and he was even treated to a spa day! Lisa updated me on how Maddox was doing, sending notes and pictures during his stay. I highly recommend Lisa if you need someone dependable and experienced to watch your fur baby!”

“I am so thankful that my dog got to hang out with Danielle over the holiday weekend. He is a ball of energy sometimes but she was up to the task. Danielle was communicative and easy to work with. I would not hesitate to work with her again.”

Victoria is a wonderful dog sitter. She was incredibly responsive from the moment I reached out, which made the whole process stress-free. My dog is older and can be picky about eating, but she went above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of. She even picked up treats to encourage him to eat, and it made such a difference knowing she was willing to put in that extra effort. It was clear she genuinely cared about his well-being. I would absolutely trust her to watch my dog again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and dependable sitter.

Natalia was fantastic with our boxer over the 4th of July weekend. She was reliable, caring, and made us feel completely comfortable while we were away. Our dog was well taken care of, and we really appreciated the updates and attention she gave her. We would absolutely book with Natalia again and highly recommend her!

Christina was truly exceptional, and I cannot recommend her highly enough as a dog sitter/boarder. She cared for my two dogs (both labs) —a 5-year-old and a 6-month-old puppy—for eight days while my family and I traveled out of the country. I was incredibly nervous about leaving them, especially the puppy, who is so young. Both dogs were adopted after spending time in shelters and foster homes, and I worried about how they would feel being away from us. On top of that, it had been a long winter with constant snow, and the puppy has endless energy—they are a lot to handle even under normal circumstances. I knew this would not be an easy job. From the very beginning, Christina went above and beyond. She graciously met with me over Zoom and in person before our trip, taking the time to understand their personalities, routines, and my concerns. Her thoughtfulness and calm, capable demeanor immediately put me at ease. While we were away, Christina communicated with me every single day. She sent updates and reassurances that meant the world to me, and it was clear she was attentive and deeply invested in their wellbeing. She adapted to their individual needs, handled their energy with patience, and even carefully cared for the puppy when she got a small cut during play with her older sister. I always knew they were safe. Her home is also a wonderful environment for dogs—she has a large, secure fenced yard and a very thoughtful approach to introductions. She had a clear plan for introducing my dogs to hers and uses gates throughout the house so each dog can have space and quiet time when needed. It showed how experienced and intentional she is. When we returned home, our dogs were thrilled to see us—but it was obvious they had been happy, comfortable, and very well cared for. That is the greatest reassurance any pet owner could ask for. Leaving your dogs behind—especially rescues and a young puppy—is incredibly hard, but Christina made it possible. She is responsible, communicative, compassionate, and truly exceptional at what she does. I would trust her again without hesitation.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
