I am a life-long animal lover with 7+ years experience as a veterinary technician and boarding kennel attendant. I have pretty much seen it all when it comes to pet care! Along with my experience in taking care of other’s beloved pets (feeding, walking, training, play times), I am also able to administer any type of medications (oral, topical, injections) and am confident in taking care of pets with any medical needs, especially senior dogs. Being a kennel attendant and vet tech, I know that so many dogs struggle with anxiety, especially when they’re separated from their owners. I have lots of experience with these kinds of dogs and can assure your fur baby will feel safe and comfortable with me. I genuinely just love spending my free time with animals of all shapes and sizes, and making sure they have the best experience while under my care. Consider me for any of your pet care needs!

Mattea watched our pup for a weekend while we traveled in Newport, and she was wonderful!! We booked a bit last minute and she was so accommodating. Our pup was well-cared for, and we got regular updates and photos. I would absolutely ask her to watch our pup again if and when we travel back to Newport!
Mattea and James were wonderful and very responsive and communicative during Jack’s stay. This was his first time staying with a sitter that had a dog, but all of my worries went away after a meet and greet where we and the dogs met. I will absolutely book again with them.

Mattea dog sat at her home for eight days with Brandy. She did a great job considering our dig Brandy was 14 and a little anxious and homesick. Would use Mattea again.

Schedule
I am an independent contractor, therefore my schedule is very flexible. My partner primarily works from home, so there is always someone home to look after your pet. We are a very active couple who loves going for walks, visiting dog parks, swimming, jogging, hiking, etc. Your pet will have potty breaks every 1-2 hours to ensure their comfort.

We are open to dog boarding or day care in our home. We are also open to dog walking. We have a small fenced in yard behind our apartment, which makes potty breaks a breeze. We have a 5 year old Aussiedoodle who loves other dogs. We are always keeping a close on your pets when they are getting acquainted and for feedings. They are allowed on the furniture. We have multiple dog beds, no crates necessary if your dog is house trained.

A typical day
Communication with my clients about their pet’s specific needs is my top priority. If your dog is high energy, I have many places I can take them safely to blow off some steam and get good exercise. I am located in the Newport, with a 10 minute walk to a variety of parks. I am also willing to travel to Middletown. I will take your dog to the park, beaches, walk along the water, bring them to dog parks (if you consent) and lots of other activities. I will also provide a comfortable and safe environment for those pets that love to just lounge around all day on the couch <3 Whatever your pet loves to do, I can make it happen!

- It’s important to me that I know about all of your pet’s needs prior to boarding with me or taking daily walks. If your pet has medical needs, I can assure that they will be taken care of properly and administered any medications needed to keep them healthy and happy. I would also love to know about your feeding schedules and if your pet gets along with other animals and children. I'm open to meet & greets beforehand if you prefer.
