About: Hi! I've been around animals my whole life, and caring for pets is truly second nature to me. I've owned and loved both dogs and cats since I was a kid, and that lifelong experience shows in how I care for every animal I meet. What really sets me apart is my background in pet care and dog training. I graduated from Norfolk County Agricultural High School, where I took many animal science courses. I took classes in canine behavior, pet shop management, and animal science. I learned how to handle, groom, and care for dogs of all breeds, through hands-on experiences. I bring patience, knowledge, and lots of love to every pet I care for. I am college student spending the rest of my summer from July 8 until August 22 at home. This means I have plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m already helping my family take care of our own dog, so adding more pets to my routine fits in perfectly! I am available Monday through Friday and am very flexible throughout the day, so I can easily accommodate different schedules and needs. Whether I am caring for pets in my home or in a client’s, their safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I stay in tune with how they are feeling, making sure they’re well-fed, clean, healthy, and getting plenty of rest and outdoor time. At home, I provide a pet-friendly environment. I’m also lucky to live next to a reservation with trails, open fields, and ponds and streams perfect for dogs who love to explore nature. I enjoy taking pets on these little adventures to keep them active and mentally stimulated. When it comes to pet care, I always treat each animal as if they were my own.

About: I’ve had my amazing dog Nalu for almost 5 years and have also been a dog walker for people in my life and neighborhood for multiple years. I love all animals, especially dogs! I am a college student home for the summer and I have a lot of free time when I’m not working so dog walking fits perfectly into my routine! I love being around dogs and I love being outside and walking so it works out perfectly. My dog is pretty well trained so when we go outside she doesn’t need a leash. I leash her when we walk on the roads or in mandatory areas. I am comfortable with dealing with new dogs and new personalities.

About: I have been around dogs all of my life. Growing up in the Hudson Valley, we had two dogs: an American Pit Bull Terrier and an APBT Staffie mix. They were the most athletic and lovey dogs! They completed a five mile hike that has a fairly long and vertical scramble section at 14 years old! In their senior years, they had medical issues so I am experienced with med management and adopting activities to their capabilities. Currently, my fiance and I have a half APBT, half Siberian Husky dog. He is the best! We adopted him from a family that kept him in his crate for so long that he bit off a large portion of the hair on his tail. He was reactive in the beginning, lunging at cars on the road and barking and lunging at dogs on walks. I used Spirit Dog Training’s reactivity course and my education in behavioral psychology and research to fix these issues. He no longer does either things and his hair has grown back in spades! We keep him busy by training him (tricks) and mentally stimulated with sniff walks and games like find it, as well as off leash time, hikes, runs, etc. We love hiking with Oto: he recently completed numerous hikes in Acadia National Park and has done Camel’s Hump in VT and Mt. Osceola in NH: he plans on completing the NH 48! In general, I love being outside and active: hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, running, kayaking, rock climbing and going to the gym. I love all dogs, but have a particular drive to keep working dogs happy and healthy! German Shepherds, Border Collies, Huskies, Cattle Dogs, Anatolian Shepherds: it is amazing what they can do and how they have served our communities in numerous roles for decades. I have spent a lot of time with my sister’s German Shepherd and half GSD half Anatolian dogs. I also volunteered at a therapeutic horseback riding center and rode horseback for several years; I find being around horses to be great training for how to interact with, and train, dogs. They are so big that they don’t HAVE to listen to you. Maintaining confidence (even if you don’t feel like it) and a steady hand go a long way, as well as keeping aware of their body language and behaviors. They are very sensitive creatures. In the Fall, I am starting my graduate program in clinical social work and have indicated my availability on my calendar. In general, during the Fall and Spring semesters, I will be conducting my practicum on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week, so am only unavailable on those days. Please share your dog's behaviors and needs with me before scheduling walks. If your dog is reactive (barks at dogs on walks or lunges) please let me know and I can adjust the walking route and make sure to give other dogs plenty of space. Let me know what their usual distance on walks is, as I can try to adjust my pace accordingly. I have a lot of experience with this (decades). If you have treats for your dog, I can take them out with me if needed.

“Mara is simply fantastic! I have a 6yr old very timid Jack Russell terrier and Mara was so incredibly patient with her. Never forced her to open up and took it at Zoeys pace ultimately making her feel more comfortable. I get the sweetest pictures and she had listened to all the instructions I’ve left for her. 10/10 would highly recommend her for your dog walking or sitting needs !”

“Karin does such a good job with my animals. My dog loses his puppy mind whenever she shows up, and it’s so obvious how much she loves animals and adores our dog. She has watched our cats as well and given them medicine, and they like her too 🙂 10/10 would recommend Karin!!”

Alexandra R.
“Ali is my fiancée, and I’ve seen firsthand how exceptional she is with dogs. Shortly before I left for deployment, we welcomed a 1½-year-old Husky/Pitbull mix named Oto into our lives. At the time, Oto was reactive toward people, cars, and other dogs. But when I returned, I was amazed at his transformation. Oto was off-leash trained, calmly ignored distractions, and now waits for a command before approaching other dogs at the park. What impressed me most was how Ali achieved this change, not through force, but through trust, patience, and consistent positive reinforcement. I used to believe that firmness and discipline were the key to dog training, but Ali helped me see that, like people, dogs respond best when you build a bond and reward the behavior you want to see. Ali has a degree in psychology from Wesleyan, and she applies her academic knowledge thoughtfully to her dog training approach. She’s also helped train her sister’s three German Shepherd mixes to be more manageable on leash, and she’s worked with several neighborhood dogs to reduce anxiety and improve behavior. We’re frequently stopped on walks by fellow dog owners asking for her advice! Beyond training, Ali is incredibly active and loves spending time outdoors with Oto and other pets. She has a knack for discovering fun new places to explore and makes sure every dog in her care gets the physical and mental stimulation it needs. Ali is not only knowledgeable and experienced, she’s genuinely passionate about the well-being of every dog she meets. I’m constantly impressed by her ability to adapt her methods to suit each dog’s unique personality and needs. Your pet will be in excellent hands with her.”

“I'm delighted to recommend Kathryn (Katie) as a pet sitter! She has been taking care of my cats and fish for the past year when I travel, and she is 100% reliable and responsible. She stays and visits with the cats for a while, and doesn't just "feed and leave." My cats love her! Katie is also a life-long dog owner and can walk/exercise all types of dogs safely and responsibly. I highly recommend Katie as a reliable, friendly pet-sitter and dog-walker!”

“I've seen firsthand how caring and responsible my husband is when it comes to animals. He's helped many of our friends by walking and pet-sitting their dogs while they were away, and every time, the pets absolutely adore him. He’s incredibly patient, gentle, and truly connects with animals—whether it's an energetic puppy or a shy senior dog. He takes the time to understand each pet's needs and treats them like family. If you're looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and genuinely great with animals, I couldn’t recommend him more!”

Alisa I.

“Thank you so so much my little girls always look forward to seeing you!”

Kendra M.
“Kendra is our go to dog walker if we ever need any last minute help. We don’t usually have much luck when it comes to hiring dog walkers as our dogs take a little while to warm up to other people, but our two dogs feel very comfortable around her. Would definitely recommend!”

Keaton W.
“Pets: 2 cats Services: Daily feeding, litter maintenance, playtime, and overnight care We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter than Keaton! As a young adult, he demonstrated remarkable responsibility and genuine care for our two cats while we were traveling out of the country. From day one, Keaton was incredibly attentive and reliable. He arrived promptly for or visit day taking note of the instructions we shared and asking insightful questions to understand the care of our cats and our expectations for their care while we were away. Keaton went above and beyond our expectations. What impressed us most was his proactive communication - he regularly sent photos and videos showing our cats playing and being their happy selves, which gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. Keaton didn't just feed our cats and leave. He took time to engage with them, ensuring they received the attention and interaction they needed. He was thorough with daily maintenance, keeping the litter boxes clean and even taking care of small household tasks like recycling cans. We returned to find our home in better condition than when we left! It's clear that our cats adored him - they were relaxed, happy, and well-cared for throughout our entire trip. Keaton's maturity, dependability, and genuine love for animals make him an exceptional pet sitter. We will absolutely book him again for future travels and highly recommend him to anyone looking for trustworthy, flexible, conscientious, and caring pet care.”
