“Emily is simply the best! She’s so communicative and sends us all the best pics when leaving her with our pup. She goes above and beyond to make leaving your pets for a trip feel so much easier. Our girl Toast always looks like she’s having a blast and loves when Emily comes over!”

About: I grew up around many dogs. My parents LOVE English Bulldogs and we always had 2-3 in our home whether we were fostering or they were ours. A few years ago we found a cat in the woods and decided to add to the family! After moving out, I have decided to rescue two cats of my own and they have been such a blessing! I also watch my friends dogs and cats from time to time. I am currently studying to be a personal trainer and work at a gym opening a women’s fitness program. My schedule is pretty open currently as I am studying for my personal trainers certificate! I am also a bodybuilder so my life really revolves around the gym! My schedule is currently very flexible. I currently have two cats, and I play with them often. They have many toys and cat trees. I would consider myself very playful. I also love to walk dogs! My bulldogs at home love walks 1-2 times a day which I have been able to help out with when there. I hope to offer similar services!
About: I have had a dog since I was 5, and have been caring for him since he was a puppy through to adulthood and elderly age. I've also housed and cared for three dogs at once for months at a time, all varying breeds and ages and sizes. Additionally, I worked in animal husbandry in a professional setting at my university. I’m currently working part-time, and have the most availability on weekdays! On Monday through Friday, I’m typically free from noon to nighttime. I love being outdoors whenever possible, and am more than happy to take your dog on long walks! I’m a very detailed person who always gets the job done, and your pet’s safety is my utmost priority. I can feed, play with, take outside, clean up accidents, or just keep your pet company for hours at a time.
“Krissy took great care of our fur babies while we were away. She also left our home in spotless condition. We are lucky to have found her and look forward to work with her again soon!!”

“Kaylee took such good care of our girl while we were out of town for a long weekend! She sent detailed updates and we could tell how much fun our pup was having. And the house is absolutely spotless upon our return. Truly couldn’t ask for more! Thank you so much, Kaylee!!”

“Katelyn was great with our fur babies! She sent plenty of photo updates throughout the booking. She updated us about anything going on with the kids and asked questions along the way. We really appreciated her communication! The dogs loved her during meet and greet. I’m sure they wanted her to stay with all the doggy cuddle puddles! Would definitely book her again! It was so reassuring to have someone reliable, communicable, and compassionate. Made our vacation a breeze. We missed our doggos, but didn’t have to worry or stress with Katelyn!”

“Very happy with Scott! The dogs were happy, meds were given, house was tidy, he took the trash out without even asking.. and the pictures and text messages were nice to see while we were out of town for a week. Thanks Scott :)”

“Carolyn was a great housesitter for my lab and two cats. She agreed to housesit within one week for s trial night and did a fantastic job!! She is very good with walking my strong lab and giving commands, and Kaya seems to love her! I would recommend Carolyn for housesitting and dog walking.”
“Amy was absolutely amazing with our 90 lb bulldog, Beast! From the moment we met her, we knew he was in great hands. She was attentive, caring, and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and happy. We loved the updates and pictures she sent, and it was clear that Beast adored her. It’s not easy finding someone who can handle a big, strong pup, but Amy did it effortlessly. We’ll definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Gabrielle was so helpful with my doggos! We had a pet emergency right before we left to go on an international trip and she was able to help give medicine and comfort. You can’t go wrong with Gabrielle!”

About: Why should I be your sitter?? Great question! I have been an animal lover and pet owner my whole life. I have sitter experience for family, friends and neighbors spanning over 20 plus years. I aim to be very responsive and typically get back to interested clients in under 10 mins. I will provide multiple pictures and videos of any visit! I genuinely love spending time with animals and feel like it is not work to give pets a better life and great care. I specialize in: 1. Senior pets! I love our older furry friends and have many years of experience with medications, dietary needs and comfort for older dogs and cats. 2. Anxious pets! Animals that have separation anxiety, need boundaries when on walks ie. No petting, or triggers like thunderstorms. I have owned pets that have all of the above and sit for them as well. 3. Puppies and kittens! I know many are working on training plans that need a strict adherence. I am happy to work with goals you have for your young learners :) I believe that pets are members of our family and want to give every animal the support they need! If you need references, please reach out! I look forward to caring for your family :) I currently make my own hours so I am flexible to any schedule! I can be available for drop ins or any variety of sitting needs! I have experience with crate training and medication administration. I have watched animals with a variety of behavioral support as well. I am open to meeting your pet where they are at.
About: I’ve been a lifelong animal lover and have years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages and personalities. After losing my own beloved senior dogs, I’m not quite ready to bring another dog into my life permanently, but I truly miss having animals around and would love the opportunity to care for yours as if they were my own. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic dogs who love walks and playtime to senior pets who simply want companionship, cuddles and a cozy place to nap. I’ve also cared for large dogs, including my 100-lb Boxer, so bigger pups don’t intimidate me! I understand how important it is to know that your pets are safe, loved and getting plenty of attention while you’re away. My goal is to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible, with plenty of affection and updates for you along the way. I work full-time from 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., but I have flexibility that works really well for pet sitting. I’m available to stay in your home during the workweek as long as you have reliable Wi-Fi, which allows me to work remotely and be there with your pets throughout the day. I’m also available for walks and drop-in visits after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and have more flexibility on weekends. I love having furry coworkers! I know how much trust it takes to leave both your pets and your home in someone else’s care. I will treat your home respectfully and your pets as if they were my own. I’m careful about doors, gates, leashes, feeding instructions and medications, and I’ll follow your pet’s established routine as closely as possible. Their safety and comfort are always my priority, and I’m happy to send plenty of photos and updates so you can relax while you’re away!
“Charlotte was fantastic. We had a few hiccups and she was beyond helpful. She was very communicative and sent daily updates with pictures. I would highly recommend her to anyone for pet sitting and will definitely use her again!”

“We have a very sweet but very anxious toy poodle, who is very really slow to warm up to anyone. Before Traci we never left her with anyone who is not family or close friends. Traci did an amazing job, being patient with her and over several days winning her trust. I also really appreciated Traci’s responsiveness, flexibility and resourcefulness. She was ver quick to communicate, frequently updating us and overall giving us a peace of mind. I highly recommend her and will certainly use her help again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mount Prospect
This was our first time having someone stay in our home to care for our dog and cats, so naturally I was a little nervous, but Stacy was amazing! She immediately made us feel comfortable and took such great care of our pets and our home while we were away. She was reliable, communicative, and it was such a relief knowing everyone was in good hands. We came home to happy pets and everything just as we left it. I would absolutely recommend Stacy and will definitely be reaching out to her again!

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! My dog got really sick in the days leading up to my trip and was prescribed medication, so I was nervous about leaving him. Having a professional Vet Tech care for him gave me so much peace of mind. She was able to administer his medication, monitor how he was doing, and make sure his needs were being met throughout my trip. She also sent me lots of updates, along with pictures and videos, which made being away so much easier. I always felt comfortable knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and knowledgeable sitter. I will definitely be asking her to watch my dog again in the future! 🐾❤️

Kayla is the best and the only sitter we trust! She handles every unexpected problem with grace and gives us peace of mind while we’re gone. She stays in constant communication with us and is always willing to go the extra mile with our dogs needy schedules :) THANK YOU!!!!

Susan was absolutely amazing with my pups. She stayed overnight 4 nights at my house. She even let them sleep in my bed with her as that is what they are used to do. Sent pictures and communications. My house was left in perfect order and my pups were relaxed and happy when I returned. I would definitely recommend Susan and will use her again when the occasion allows. I am a very happy camper 😊😊

Branislava is fantastic! She took such great care of our dog while we were away for the weekend. Nova got lots of walks, snuggles, and play time, and we got so many great pictures and updates. And our house was even cleaner than when we left! Thank you Branislava!

Michael was great sitting our 3 dogs in our home! We have small, medium, and large and personalities to match, and Michael managed them all well. He sent pictures and videos daily, which kept our minds at ease while we were away. Our home was left as we found it. We are pleased overall and grateful for Michael's services!

Monica took wonderful care of our fur babies and our home while we were away for a week! We have a puppy and senior dog and Monica was great with both! She even worked on some training with our pup! She provided great communication and sent lots of pictures to reassure us our girls were doing well while we were away. If you are looking for someone you can trust to take good care of your fur babies (and your home) while you’re traveling, I highly recommend Monica. We will definitely be requesting her again in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mount Prospect walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mount Prospect maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mount Prospect choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
