“Gabrielle was so great with our chocolate lab! She was professional and sent photos and an update on him the entire week we were out of town. She also left our home clean and tidy .”

“I always leave a review so that others will feel more than comfortable when considering Kaylee to watch their dog. I’m grateful to have found her and have hired Kaylee a few times already as this last trip was 2 weeks outside of the country. It made my trip more enjoyable, and my seven-year-old dog has really bonded with her!”

“Scott took such great care of our two pups when we were out of town. We are so grateful we were able to book his services at the last minute. We got consistent updates on how our pups were doing while we were gone and we could tell they were nice and relaxed and were able to spend a lot of their time outside. We really hope to book his services again soon!”

“Joanna was amazing. My pups loved her and she went above and beyond to care for them. I felt rest assured they were in good hands while I was out of town. I highly recommend her and I will be having her come again in the future.”

“Krissy was great! She was able to help out in a pinch and took great care of our Toby, who normally takes a bit to become comfortable with new people and he settled right in. She took plenty of pictures, shared lots of updates and most of all kept him safe. Will definitely be using her again and highly recommend to others who need a sitter!”

“Ida took not only exceptional care of my pets but also my house. It was as clean, if not cleaner, when we got home than when I left it. She sent pictures of my fur babies almost daily. So much that I think I have more pics of them from her than I’ve taken myself the past few months. 🤣. I highly recommend her and will be having her back without hesitation.”

“Emily was awesome with our animals. She made an immediate connection with our cats and dogs over a short house sitting. She was communicative and sent great photos so we never had to miss anybody. She left the house clean and tidy.”

“Michael did a great job taking care of our dog Scout and staying at our home while we were away. He took excellent care of our pup, he was very responsive, and he kept us updated throughout his stay which gave us peace of mind. He also sent pictures of Scout who looked happy as can be. The house was in great shape when we returned. I highly recommend Michael and we will definitely look into having him stay again in the future.”

“Branislava is fantastic! She took such great care of our dog while we were away for the weekend. Nova got lots of walks, snuggles, and play time, and we got so many great pictures and updates. And our house was even cleaner than when we left! Thank you Branislava!”

“Karina stayed at our house for two weeks, watching our dogs and cats while we were away on vacation. During our entire time away she was very communicative and shared plenty of photos! She made sure we knew our animals were well taken care of the entire time sharing details of walks and feedings. When we came back all the animals were happy and the house was spotless and in an even better condition than when we had left it. If you are looking for somebody to take care of your animals, Karina is an excellent choice.”

About: Hello, my name is Hannah. I am a part time art instructor and online Art Therapy student. I prioritize attentiveness and timeliness in my teaching as well as dog walking and sitting. I love all animals, have dog walked locally on and off since I was in middle school, and have had a dog of my own for 10 years. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. I am an active person and look forward to taking your pet on frequent walks, or even runs! I’m currently working part-time and attending online school, so I have a lot of availability for overnight dog sitting, as well as many walks and drop-ins throughout the day. Besides a few mid-day classes and teaching the occasional night class, my schedule allows me to be very flexible. I treat all pets the way I would want my own dog, Sailor, to be treated. Your pets safety and happiness are my top priorities! I aim to create a stress free experience for you, and a fun experience for your pet.
“Aury was super with our dogs - we have one that is very nervous and still new to our apartment and she was able to immediately win him over. She kept us informed during the whole time we were out and we couldn’t have been happier with her!”
“This is the second time Sarah has pet sat for us, and both times she took great care of our dog and our cat, and left our house immaculate. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“The experience with Diane was great! We will not hesitate to book with her again. She recently stayed for 4 nights with our 90-lb German Shepherd Dog. Being so comfortable with Diane made being away so much more enjoyable and relaxing. Diane sent multiple videos throughout each day to reassure us that our boy was getting exercise and having a good time. In addition, she took great care in the house. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. 5 Stars!!”

“Yssis was great with our pets! We got lots of cute pics and the furkids were definitely getting all the snuggles. We will definitely try and use Yssis again next time we travel.”

About: hello! my name is charlize i’m 22 i’ve grown up with animals my whole life and now i currently work at an animal hospital helping taking care of the dogs and cats that come in to see the vet. i’m very experienced with animals and taking care of animals and i love all different kinds of animals. i’ve worked at the animal hospital now for two and a half years and its been the most amazing two and a half years of my life. i am also going to school to practice becoming a veterinarian so i am really excited to meet all new furry friends for more experience. i am good with administering medication, i am good with dealing with aggressive dogs, i am good with any diabetic cat or dog with dosing insulin. you name it and i can do it!! i work part time hours at the animal hospital during the summer months and full time during fall and winter but i am extremely flexible, as i work on my terms and conditions. i am willing to fit last minute accommodation if it works with my personal schedule but i can also take time out of my day if needed to walk a dog etc. i unfortunately cannot have pets in my building but i am more than willing and able to go to anyone else’s beloved home to pet sit, or walk, or feed animals. i come in with a soft expression and wait for the animals to get used to me and my scent and then i wait for their approval to come further in their home/space. i am very careful to not touch them when they don’t want to be touched and i am always patient with animals especially if they’re new to my route.
“She was kind to the old ladies and very friendly. They liked her alot. When we returned to our apartment, they were so tired and happy even the cat was happy. Thank you again Susan for treating the old lady's very well.”

“Nicholas was an incredible sitter for our elderly dog Stella. She requires a lot of extra gentle care, can’t see or hear well, & requires diaper chances multiple times a day. Nicholas handled everything with ease, sent us lots of updates and photos, & gave us incredible peace of mind on our trip!”

We appreciate Scott’s care and flexibility while taking care of our dog during her post surgery healing. He also was willing to give an extra hand watering our small garden and bringing in mail and packages. It makes such a difference to know our dog and house are safe in Scott’s care. Highly recommend!

Kayla is the best and the only sitter we trust! She handles every unexpected problem with grace and gives us peace of mind while we’re gone. She stays in constant communication with us and is always willing to go the extra mile with our dogs needy schedules :) THANK YOU!!!!

Susan was absolutely amazing with my pups. She stayed overnight 4 nights at my house. She even let them sleep in my bed with her as that is what they are used to do. Sent pictures and communications. My house was left in perfect order and my pups were relaxed and happy when I returned. I would definitely recommend Susan and will use her again when the occasion allows. I am a very happy camper 😊😊

Branislava is fantastic! She took such great care of our dog while we were away for the weekend. Nova got lots of walks, snuggles, and play time, and we got so many great pictures and updates. And our house was even cleaner than when we left! Thank you Branislava!

Michael was great sitting our 3 dogs in our home! We have small, medium, and large and personalities to match, and Michael managed them all well. He sent pictures and videos daily, which kept our minds at ease while we were away. Our home was left as we found it. We are pleased overall and grateful for Michael's services!

Monica took wonderful care of our fur babies and our home while we were away for a week! We have a puppy and senior dog and Monica was great with both! She even worked on some training with our pup! She provided great communication and sent lots of pictures to reassure us our girls were doing well while we were away. If you are looking for someone you can trust to take good care of your fur babies (and your home) while you’re traveling, I highly recommend Monica. We will definitely be requesting her again in the future!

This is was our first time booking a house/dog sitter through Rover. Our experience with Tina was perfect. she took very good care of Sammy, followed every instruction, sent periodic updates, and overall went above and beyond. I can't say enough good things about Tina - she clearly enjoys dogs and wants the best for them. Thank you, Tina!

Best cat sitter I’ve ever had! My babies felt loved and safe with her. She’s was in constant communication with me and sent me pics and videos everyday. She was very clean and respectful of my condo. Very considerate and kind person. Would have her move in if I could!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mount Prospect walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mount Prospect maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mount Prospect choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mount Prospect. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
