About: I’ve always loved dogs, and over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to become much more hands-on with caring for them. I regularly care for the family dog, Pepper, including staying with her when the family is out of town, taking her on walks, feeding her, and playing with her. Through these experiences, I’ve become very comfortable with the day-to-day responsibilities of caring for a dog. Most importantly, I genuinely love being around dogs. Whenever I visit friends or family who have dogs, I’m usually the person spending my time playing with them, giving them attention, and making sure they feel comfortable. Caring for dogs has made me realize just how much I enjoy it, which is a big reason I decided to join Rover. I’d love the opportunity to give your dog the same attention, patience, and care that I give the dogs in my own family. My goal is to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I work remotely and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to prioritize your dog’s needs throughout the day. My meetings are typically only once a day, 30 minutes to an hour, so I have plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and companionship. I’m available most days and can easily work from a client’s home when house sitting, allowing me to spend plenty of time with your dog and keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. When caring for your dog in your home, I’ll do my best to maintain the routine they’re already comfortable with. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, bathroom breaks, and bedtime routines. I’m comfortable handling dogs on a leash and administering basic medications when needed. I also love giving dogs plenty of attention, playtime, and cuddles while respecting their personality and boundaries. Whether I’m stopping by for a walk or staying in your home, my priority is keeping your dog happy, comfortable, and cared for in the environment they know best.
“Scott did a great job with our XL pups, especially the one that is slow to accept new people. Communicated each day (w/ pics), and left the house & yard clean. We would use him again (and plan to) in a heartbeat”

“Julianna did an unbelievable job watching our huskies while we were away. She stayed in great touch with daily photos and catered to all their needs. On top of taking such good care of the dogs, she even cleaned up all the extra fur from Aurora shedding so we came home to a clean house. We're so thankful for her help and will absolutely be reaching out to her next time!”

About: Why should I be your sitter?? Great question! I have been an animal lover and pet owner my whole life. I have sitter experience for family, friends and neighbors spanning over 20 plus years. I aim to be very responsive and typically get back to interested clients in under 10 mins. I will provide multiple pictures and videos of any visit! I genuinely love spending time with animals and feel like it is not work to give pets a better life and great care. I specialize in: 1. Senior pets! I love our older furry friends and have many years of experience with medications, dietary needs and comfort for older dogs and cats. 2. Anxious pets! Animals that have separation anxiety, need boundaries when on walks ie. No petting, or triggers like thunderstorms. I have owned pets that have all of the above and sit for them as well. 3. Puppies and kittens! I know many are working on training plans that need a strict adherence. I am happy to work with goals you have for your young learners :) I believe that pets are members of our family and want to give every animal the support they need! If you need references, please reach out! I look forward to caring for your family :) I currently make my own hours so I am flexible to any schedule! I can be available for drop ins or any variety of sitting needs! I have experience with crate training and medication administration. I have watched animals with a variety of behavioral support as well. I am open to meeting your pet where they are at.
About: I’ve always grown up with animals and had to be very responsible at a young age for crate schedules, feeding times, play times. Etc. My dog back in my hometown was my pride and joy but since I moved I also do miss that bond every now and then w a furry companion. Part time server / bartender and just needed some extra work but also something that I enjoy doing. Who doesn’t love spending time w fur babies?!? I do have a smaller apartment so smaller animals preferred when it comes to boarding within my own home. Very respectful for other people’s homes and will do whatever is necessary to make sure the home and animals are both taken care of.
“Krissy took great care of Otis while my wife and I were out of town. Regular updates, accommodated his picky eating habits, lots of walks and love. 10/10 would recommend for all pet/house sitting needs!”

Kayla is the best and the only sitter we trust! She handles every unexpected problem with grace and gives us peace of mind while we’re gone. She stays in constant communication with us and is always willing to go the extra mile with our dogs needy schedules :) THANK YOU!!!!

Susan was absolutely amazing with my pups. She stayed overnight 4 nights at my house. She even let them sleep in my bed with her as that is what they are used to do. Sent pictures and communications. My house was left in perfect order and my pups were relaxed and happy when I returned. I would definitely recommend Susan and will use her again when the occasion allows. I am a very happy camper 😊😊

Branislava is fantastic! She took such great care of our dog while we were away for the weekend. Nova got lots of walks, snuggles, and play time, and we got so many great pictures and updates. And our house was even cleaner than when we left! Thank you Branislava!

Michael was great sitting our 3 dogs in our home! We have small, medium, and large and personalities to match, and Michael managed them all well. He sent pictures and videos daily, which kept our minds at ease while we were away. Our home was left as we found it. We are pleased overall and grateful for Michael's services!

Monica took wonderful care of our fur babies and our home while we were away for a week! We have a puppy and senior dog and Monica was great with both! She even worked on some training with our pup! She provided great communication and sent lots of pictures to reassure us our girls were doing well while we were away. If you are looking for someone you can trust to take good care of your fur babies (and your home) while you’re traveling, I highly recommend Monica. We will definitely be requesting her again in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mount Prospect walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mount Prospect maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mount Prospect choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
