“Carl came highly rated and highly recommended. Could not imagine how he could have exceeded expectations, but he did in every way. Took incredible care of our dog and our home. We plan to use him again and again.”

“Judy was fantastic taking care of our dachshund. Dachshunds require specific care to protect their spine, and lots of patience as they can be very stubborn. Judy was excellent proving Rocky the exact care he needed. She was a pleasure to work with. We are so lucky to have had her care for our fur-baby.”

“Kaylee took such good care of our girl while we were out of town for a long weekend! She sent detailed updates and we could tell how much fun our pup was having. And the house is absolutely spotless upon our return. Truly couldn’t ask for more! Thank you so much, Kaylee!!”

“Ida stayed at our house and watched our dog and cat while we were gone for 9 days. We had a meet n greet beforehand so she could get to know the pets and it assured me that she was the right fit. She was great at giving me updates and letting me know how things were going at the house! We will definitely use her again for a long trip 😊 the house was clean when we returned home and the pets were happy!”
“We’re so thankful that Ana was able to hang out with our cat and dog again today! While we were away, she kept us laughing by sending us the funny expressions our dog naturally makes and provided us with regular updates. We truly recommend Ana for any pet-sitting you may need!”

“Krissy is amazing. Very professional. Extremely communicative and sent a ton of pictures of our babies while we were away. We were able to really enjoy our time away knowing our babies were in good hands. Would love to have her back!”

About: hello! my name is charlize i’m 22 i’ve grown up with animals my whole life and now i currently work at an animal hospital helping taking care of the dogs and cats that come in to see the vet. i’m very experienced with animals and taking care of animals and i love all different kinds of animals. i’ve worked at the animal hospital now for two and a half years and its been the most amazing two and a half years of my life. i am also going to school to practice becoming a veterinarian so i am really excited to meet all new furry friends for more experience. i am good with administering medication, i am good with dealing with aggressive dogs, i am good with any diabetic cat or dog with dosing insulin. you name it and i can do it!! i work part time hours at the animal hospital during the summer months and full time during fall and winter but i am extremely flexible, as i work on my terms and conditions. i am willing to fit last minute accommodation if it works with my personal schedule but i can also take time out of my day if needed to walk a dog etc. i unfortunately cannot have pets in my building but i am more than willing and able to go to anyone else’s beloved home to pet sit, or walk, or feed animals. i come in with a soft expression and wait for the animals to get used to me and my scent and then i wait for their approval to come further in their home/space. i am very careful to not touch them when they don’t want to be touched and i am always patient with animals especially if they’re new to my route.
“Kenyale was amazing with my two dogs! I let her know it was our Airedale’s 4th birthday and she went above and beyond getting them gifts and throwing a little party. Felt so good knowing they were having a great time while we were gone!!”

“I can’t believe how good Lily was with our pup and home. We felt so safe with her being there. Our dog is usually so timid and scared around people and she was so happy with Lily!!! She took great care of everything and sent many updates, everything was clean when we got home, and she truly did more than what was expected with our baby”

“Karina was absolutely amazing. She gave us regular updates and spoiled our dogs more than we do. She took care of all of their medical issues. We will definitely ask Karina to watch our dogs again.”

“Gabi did awesome with our Rory! She is a 4 month old lab mix that can be quite the handful. Gabi stayed over at our house for 4 days and was able to handle her great :)”

“Brittany did a great job watching our pooch as well as the house. She was very friendly, communicative, clean, and Dozer seemed happy as could be when we returned from our vacation. Highly recommend Brittany for dog-sitting!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rolling Meadows
Kenyale is the consummate professional. Literally. She has been an animal professional for many years already, so we felt confident in leaving our two boys in her care for a lengthy trip to the city while they stayed in a suburban lodging. We were particularly impressed that when she got the idea that we were a little nervous about it, she and her adult daughter came for a lengthy meet-and-greet the day before. Though that has happened once before, we know not to expect that from every other sitter, and other clients probably shouldn't expect that every time they book this pro family. But it told us that they truly care and want the dog parents to be as at-ease as the dogs themselves. We appreciated all the little extras that came with this booking, especially the high quality photography that makes us love our pooches even more. Kenyale will be on our A-list for a Chicagoland sitter.

This was our second time having Ida dog sit for us and needless to say we are lucky to have found her! Ida stayed with our elderly pup for 3 weeks while we were out of the country, and as usual she provided exceptional service, multiple daily updates including photos and videos, and the utmost care and compassion for our dog, who is a special needs older pup, who requires medication and walks multiple times a day. Ida left our apartment spotless and kept daily communication with us and our neighbors, who absolutely adored her. Our dog loved her the moment he met her and was so excited to see her again, which goes to show her care for him. We cannot be any luckier to have found such a trustworthy sitter and will always rebook with her. Thank you, Ida 🩵

As a first timer, this experience has been wonderful. Kaylee calmed my fears by communicating the things I needed to hear as well as sending pictures. She left the house clean and even took care of the sheets which was not expected. I would not hesitate next time and will save myself a lot of unwarranted worry. Thanks Kaylee!!!
Kristen was an absolute amazing pet/housesitter. We are so happy we found her to watch our two pups. She is great with communicating, she is punctual, takes great care with our house, and is very kind and caring with the pups. We plan on contacting her to help with our girls again, and would highly recommend her to anyone

Lois was a life saver! I needed a last minute sitter she was quick to respond and jumped right in! She was able to adapt to my dogs needs and my pup took quick to her! She was so kind and listened well to what my needs where! I’m so thankful to found her and can’t wait to book her again!

Jane was great with Riley- understood her special needs and took great care of Riley. She provided updates during her visit. She also responded promptly to our initial questions and meet and greet request. I would recommend Jane to others and will use her again for any future needed dog sitting.

Best cat sitter I’ve ever had! My babies felt loved and safe with her. She’s was in constant communication with me and sent me pics and videos everyday. She was very clean and respectful of my condo. Very considerate and kind person. Would have her move in if I could!!

Julianna agreed to a last minute house sitting request for our dog Augie, who suffers from separation anxiety. She made it a point to show up early to meet Augie and ensure she understood everything he would need for the evening. Augie loved her right away and Julianna took great care of him, giving him lots of attention and affection. We highly recommend Julianna and will definitely keep her on the top of our list for future sittings!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rolling Meadows walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rolling Meadows maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rolling Meadows choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rolling Meadows. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
