“Carl was amazing with our dog, Heidi! He kept us updated with funny stories and great pictures while we were away, which really made us smile. He took her on plenty of walks, and it honestly looks like she found a new friend. We could tell she was happy and well cared for the whole time. We'll definitely be booking with Carl again!”
“I would highly recommend Kaylee for in-house dog sitting. This was my first experience with someone staying in my home and for an extended period of time (7 nights). Immediately after the first night, it was a completely different vacation experience for me with Kaylee’s continued updates and pictures and seeing my dog so much more at ease being in her own home vs in someone else’s home/training facility. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“I cannot say enough about Gabrielle. She was just the best! She sent pics of my doggies everyday and they looked so happy. If you are looking for a great dog sitter look no further!”

About: I have owned, raised and loved all kinds of dogs my entire life. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personality types! Dogs have always been apart of my life and bring me so much happiness! I have trained my own dogs to walk on leash. I have also trained them to perform tricks such as shake, sit, lay down and “ready”. I have attended obedience classes with my own dogs and learned how to deal with behavioral problems such as overactive issues, jumping and potential aggression. For dog sitting I will ensure your dog or cat is safe, happy, and well cared for every time I come and visit. I would be so honored to come and walk or pet sit for you.
“Ida was very loving and attentive to my 2 large dogs while I was away. She kept me updated with photos and a video. When Harlee had some issues with her IBD, Ida went above and beyond to address the situation. Excellent care. Highly recommend.”

“Emily is once again amazing as a sitter with our little pup. She’s super communicative and sent so many picks. Toast absolutely loves her! I feel so comfortable any time we have to leave knowing Emily will be there.”

“Brittany is a wonderful dog sitter! She’s very professional and reliable and she spoiled our dog! I felt very comfortable having her in our home while we were away. I will definitely call on her when we go out of town again.”

“For the first time in 12 years, I decided that taking my female Maltese, Gemini, on vacation with me was going to be too difficult. My family planned and invited me to an international 13 day trip with many planned stops and activities was too much to handle (I use a walker and I'm 83) so I hired Tina to watch my dog and home. Managing a dog that has not separated from its owner in 12 plus years is challenging. Tina did a great job of dealing with the separation anxiety while simultaneously building a relationship with her. Within days, Tina had won Gemini over and that allowed me to completely enjoy and unforgettable vacation. I am so grateful. Tina also watched my home and did a great job with that. Tina is responsible, attentive to even the smallest details and is 100% committed to take care of her customers. I will hire her again.”

“Karina stayed at our house for two weeks, watching our dogs and cats while we were away on vacation. During our entire time away she was very communicative and shared plenty of photos! She made sure we knew our animals were well taken care of the entire time sharing details of walks and feedings. When we came back all the animals were happy and the house was spotless and in an even better condition than when we had left it. If you are looking for somebody to take care of your animals, Karina is an excellent choice.”

About: hello! my name is charlize i’m 22 i’ve grown up with animals my whole life and now i currently work at an animal hospital helping taking care of the dogs and cats that come in to see the vet. i’m very experienced with animals and taking care of animals and i love all different kinds of animals. i’ve worked at the animal hospital now for two and a half years and its been the most amazing two and a half years of my life. i am also going to school to practice becoming a veterinarian so i am really excited to meet all new furry friends for more experience. i am good with administering medication, i am good with dealing with aggressive dogs, i am good with any diabetic cat or dog with dosing insulin. you name it and i can do it!! i work part time hours at the animal hospital during the summer months and full time during fall and winter but i am extremely flexible, as i work on my terms and conditions. i am willing to fit last minute accommodation if it works with my personal schedule but i can also take time out of my day if needed to walk a dog etc. i unfortunately cannot have pets in my building but i am more than willing and able to go to anyone else’s beloved home to pet sit, or walk, or feed animals. i come in with a soft expression and wait for the animals to get used to me and my scent and then i wait for their approval to come further in their home/space. i am very careful to not touch them when they don’t want to be touched and i am always patient with animals especially if they’re new to my route.
“Krissy is amazing. Very professional. Extremely communicative and sent a ton of pictures of our babies while we were away. We were able to really enjoy our time away knowing our babies were in good hands. Would love to have her back!”

“Charlotte was fantastic. We had a few hiccups and she was beyond helpful. She was very communicative and sent daily updates with pictures. I would highly recommend her to anyone for pet sitting and will definitely use her again!”

“Tania was GREAT!! Such a relief to find someone we can trust and who cares for our babies the way we do. She interacted with them all day and sent many great pictures! We all look forward to seeing her again soon!”

“Phillip is fantastic. Very responsive, receptive, and attentive to the needs we outlined for him. Super friendly guy and I can tell our pups enjoyed having him around!”

“You know you have a good sitter when you aren’t stressed about your pups while you are away from home. Ashley was great, checked in prior to stay to confirm details, sent updates with pics and kept us informed while we were away for the weekend. Having 2 senior dogs is no joke and Ashley handled them fantastically.”

“Stacey put a lot of love and care into watching our animals, and sent us lots of updates and videos of how they were doing. I think they were better behaved for her than they are for us. I would absolutely recommend her if anyone needs a petsitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rolling Meadows
As a first timer, this experience has been wonderful. Kaylee calmed my fears by communicating the things I needed to hear as well as sending pictures. She left the house clean and even took care of the sheets which was not expected. I would not hesitate next time and will save myself a lot of unwarranted worry. Thanks Kaylee!!!
Ida is terrific! We appreciated her professional communication skills, determination to be sure our expectations were met and her desire to provide our dogs a relaxing few days at our home. We couldn’t be happier and hope to continue our work with Ida shortly!!

100% the best sitter we ever had! Sent pics everyday and communicated what was going on. We never worried about our dogs while away...I knew they were in great hands with Carl. From the first time they met, my dogs liked Carl...so we knew we got the perfect sitter. We will definitely hire Carl again for our fur babies.

Kristen was an absolute amazing pet/housesitter. We are so happy we found her to watch our two pups. She is great with communicating, she is punctual, takes great care with our house, and is very kind and caring with the pups. We plan on contacting her to help with our girls again, and would highly recommend her to anyone

Lois was a life saver! I needed a last minute sitter she was quick to respond and jumped right in! She was able to adapt to my dogs needs and my pup took quick to her! She was so kind and listened well to what my needs where! I’m so thankful to found her and can’t wait to book her again!

Jane was great with Riley- understood her special needs and took great care of Riley. She provided updates during her visit. She also responded promptly to our initial questions and meet and greet request. I would recommend Jane to others and will use her again for any future needed dog sitting.

Best cat sitter I’ve ever had! My babies felt loved and safe with her. She’s was in constant communication with me and sent me pics and videos everyday. She was very clean and respectful of my condo. Very considerate and kind person. Would have her move in if I could!!

Julianna agreed to a last minute house sitting request for our dog Augie, who suffers from separation anxiety. She made it a point to show up early to meet Augie and ensure she understood everything he would need for the evening. Augie loved her right away and Julianna took great care of him, giving him lots of attention and affection. We highly recommend Julianna and will definitely keep her on the top of our list for future sittings!
Yssis took great care of our 2.5 y/o Border Collie mix in our home while we went away. I was nervous at first because we would be completely out of contact (camping with no cell signal) for 10 days and Pando has separation anxiety, but Yssis was patient and professional with him and quickly earned all of our trust. She's personable and knowledgeable and sent lots of updates. Will absolutely call on Yssis again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Rolling Meadows on Rover is $58.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,226 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rolling Meadows. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rolling Meadows walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rolling Meadows maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rolling Meadows choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rolling Meadows. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
