“Dar took great care of our cats while we were gone. She was easy to get in touch with, fast at responding to our messages, and reliable. We will definitely keep her in mind for the next time we need pet care.”

“Brianna took care of my cats while my fiancée and I were out of town. It’s a bit difficult to find sitters that can administer oral medicine to cats, and Brianna was able to meet the task, give love to my 2 cats and make sure their area was well kept. She responds quickly to texts as well. If you need a cat sitter, I would recommend her to any client!”

“Wendy is wonderful! When I forgot to give my other pet sitter a key to the front door’s bottom lock, she was a huge help in making sure the issue got sorted. Even though I told her she could leave after feeding and scooping litter for my very shy cat, Wendy would still stay and listen to music for the full half-hour visit so Tawny wouldn’t feel as alone. So professional and so nice! Highly recommend her.”

About: I have grown up with many animals, including exotic animals. We have a grooming station in home and love animals of all types and breeds. I haven’t accept exotic animals as well. I have owned horses, mini pigs inside my house, sugar, gliders, chinchillas, hamsters, lizards, cat, dogs, ferrets, I’m probably forgetting a few more. I have an open schedule and care for my pets very well. My dog even gets dental cleanings every year. My favorites get their nails cut and bathed weekly. I have multiple dog beds, a cat tower tons of toys for all different red animals. Have a fenced in backyard, grooming, station, and home. I have extra cages or tanks if need be. I prefer not to kettle animals unless they need to be under the owners agreement.
“Jenny is the best. She sends adorable photos and tells me everything (good and bad) I need to know about my cat. She really takes a lot of the pressure of leaving off my shoulders and I cannot thank her enough!”

“Siris is a strong dog and will try to lead, which can be a challenge. Liz has the know-how to control him yet provide the experience he loves on his walks. We will definitely continue with her service.”

“Emily was an absolute doll. She came through on a snowy holiday weekend and went above and beyond with our shy little Toasty girl. Emily was super communicative before, during, and after the drop-in visit. We could tell from the photos that Toast had a blast with her new friend!”

“Scott was absolutely fantastic checking in on our 2 cats. He was extremely patient and ensured the more anxious of our 2 cats was okay and eating / drinking while we were gone. Thank you Scott!”

“Charlotte did a phenomenal job with my kitty, Kira. She was well looked after while I was away for a few days. She had no problem fulfilling my requests for how to feed and care for her. Highly recommend”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life and have over 9 years of hands-on experience. I currently have a 3-year-old dog who I’ve raised since she was just 2 months old, and before that, I was the primary caretaker for my childhood dog for more than 8 years. I’m comfortable with daily routines, feeding, walks, playtime, crate care, and building trust with pets of all ages. I’ve also provided pet sitting for others, including multi-day stays (up to 5 days in a row), so I understand how important communication, consistency, and reliability are when someone is away. About: I've had dogs my whole life and adore them as well as many other species (except snakes). I am a certified virtual dog trainer and currently accepting longer house sits. Currently, I am studying dog naturopathy and help out at Bordertails Animal Rescue. I volunteered at The Humane Society of Southern Illinois for 5 years where I exercised animals and taught them tricks, so they were more likely to be adopted... then I got really into the show, "The Dog Whisperer" and “Pitbulls & Parolees”. I I can be highly active, yet remain calm and assertive when giving commands. I practice positive reinforcement and use a no-force approach. With exercise and attention being important, I provide both (in accordance to limits and individual needs), and I will follow the rules you have in place all while loving them to pieces. I am happy to cuddle, if they're into that, and respect their pace by reading the dogs body language. I find dog psychology fascinating and by the end of 2025 I’ll have competed my Dog Training Certification program through GoodPup and be offering virtual dog training! My one rule is that I do not accept in person visits with mature pets with a history of attacking a human previously. I tend to accept longer term house stays when working remotely, and nearby recurring walks/ drop-ins. Feel free to reach out and tell me more about your needs. Thanks for reading! I enjoy the presence of animals, and caring for them. I have a lot of experience exercising with dogs, and cuddling them whenever they are near and desire to be cuddled of course. I know most dogs love being petted, but some don't and I respect each dog as an individual. Being present with them and paying attention to their needs. For the time being, I am only offering services in your home, and some dog walking. In the future, I may add boarding as a service and you can always inquire.
“Nancy was very warm and patient with our Stella, because she is shy around new people. She sent a report with photos everyday which made us feel comfortable while we were on vacation, and even cleaned a few dishes we left behind! Highly recommend.”

Liz exceeded all of my expectations! She took amazing care of my four cats while I was away for a week, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She is incredibly kind, thoughtful, reliable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Every day she sent a detailed Rover Card with photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my cats were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It was obvious she treated them as if they were her own. Coming home to four relaxed, content cats was the best feeling. I would absolutely book Liz again without hesitation and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional pet sitter. She’s truly one of the best!

Emily is the best! I enjoy reading Josie’s report cards and viewing the photos of her playing and eating! I know she’s in great hands and I can enjoy my time away from home when Josie is in Emily’s care. Emily has great communication and I appreciate all of the detailed updates. Thank you, Emily!

Brianna took care of my cats while my fiancée and I were out of town. It’s a bit difficult to find sitters that can administer oral medicine to cats, and Brianna was able to meet the task, give love to my 2 cats and make sure their area was well kept. She responds quickly to texts as well. If you need a cat sitter, I would recommend her to any client!

We had Nicole drop in on our 2 shorthair cats for around a week and a half while me and my (now) husband were getting married, and she was famtastic! She was receptive and quick to respond, and it felt like our babies were well taken care of when we returned. I would absolutely boom her again!
Alexandra did a wonderful job taking care of our cats while we were out of town. She was reliable, communicative, and made sure they were well cared for throughout our trip. We appreciated the updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind knowing our pets were in good hands. We came home to happy, relaxed cats and everything exactly as we left it. We would gladly book with Alexandra again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter. 🐾 Thank you, Alexandra! 😊
Stacy has a phenomenal gift with animals! They love her instantly. She is punctual. Follows your care plan for your pet. Is trustworthy in your home and communicates well. Part of her communication, is an incredible ability to photograph animals, which she shares freely with you while you are away. I had never heard of Rover, Stacy was my first contact. I will be using her again and again.

Susan is absolutely amazing. Not only is she skilled and trustworthy; she has a special heart for animals that few do. My Marv warmed up to her right away and he typically takes awhile! She quickly understood Marv for his quirks and leaned into those quirks with patience and adoration. We are so lucky to have Susan's animal heart, expertise, and reliability.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
