“Brianna took care of my cats while my fiancée and I were out of town. It’s a bit difficult to find sitters that can administer oral medicine to cats, and Brianna was able to meet the task, give love to my 2 cats and make sure their area was well kept. She responds quickly to texts as well. If you need a cat sitter, I would recommend her to any client!”

About: I have my own bull mastiff, trained him myself. Sit, stay, pray, paw, lay down, and he doesn’t pull on the leash and taught him how to “go home”. I’ve been around dogs my entire life as I have had a few and my mom has been on rover for 10 years dog sitting. I am a College student with primarily online classes so my schedule is flexible. I am not on campus, and am currently at home in Rolling Meadows. I care for pets in my own home as if they were my own. Very responsible college athlete, just finished my 3rd year of basketball and will graduate with my bachelors in May. Mindful of other peoples property and environments.
“We had to leave town shortly after bringing home our 8 week old puppy, and thankfully, we found Carl! From day one, he has been incredibly attentive, caring, and reliable. He’s knowledgeable about dogs and puppy care in general, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing our little guy was in great hands. He’s gone above and beyond to make sure our pup is comfortable, happy, and well cared for. We’re so grateful to have found him and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind dog walker/ sitter.”

“Kaylee did a great job. Very communicative and flexible when there was issues with our garage door opener while we were away. Glad to have her able to check in on our dog while we were away for a trip.”

“Melissa did a great job with my two cats! They can be shy with new people, but they warmed up to her on the meet and greet. She spent an hour with them each night and sent great photos of playtime. I hope to hire Melissa for future visits!”

“Cathy started caring for our black lab, Wendy, last week. She responded so quickly to my messages and was able to do a meet and greet within days of my first message to her! Our dog loves Cathy and it’s been going really well when Cathy comes to let her out at lunchtime. I would definitely recommend Cathy to care for your pet! She has a lab of her own and a lot of experience.”

“Having Jennifer as a cat sitter provided so much peace of mind when I was away. She is very reliable, pays attention to detail, and her updates also provided a lot of information on how my cat was doing.”

“We've transitioned from using dog daycare to having Shannon drop by to give some attention to our yorkie mix while we're away at work. We were alittle nervous about making the shift but we could tell our dog really hated going to daycare so we wanted to try. Shannon has made it SO easy. We've been using her 3x a week for a few months now. She is fantastic! She is patient with our dog, and meets him where he is at (which can be hard, given that some days he wants to go out, and other days he is only interested in napping or play time!). I'm so glad we found someone who is trustworthy, reliable, and flexible. If you're looking for help, stop looking - and book Shannon now!”

“Hannah was amazing! She helped us out in a pinch and took excellent care of our dog. I appreciate that she was a quick, clear communicator and followed our directions to make sure our dog was safe and loved. Thank you, Hannah!”

“This is the first time that Jessica has taken care of my cat. I am so pleased with the care she gave him and I am ready to rebook for my next trip. Jessica showed up as I requested, spent time with my cat, sent me pictures and notes on the visit, then locked up when she left. I’m so happy I chose Jessica for my cat care.”

“Melanie took wonderful care of Uno! She is reliable, dependable, responsible, and experienced. I felt completely at ease knowing Uno was in her care. She is trustworthy, caring, and kept me updated throughout. I highly recommend Melanie and will definitely book with her again!”

“Evelyn is a god send! She was FABULOUS with our pets. We have a sassy cat and two buns who absolutely loved her! She was prompt on timing and followed all of the directions we had. She met with us before our vacation to meet our furry friends and pick up keys. She sent hilarious updates and pictures. We never had a worry with Evelyn watching our pets. 10 out 10 would book her again.”

About: Currently, I have two cats. I've had a dog, but before that, I primarily had birds (parakeets), lizards (bearded dragons) and frogs (mostly bull frogs). I cat-sit on occassion for a friend and sibling. I also raise Monarch caterpillars in the summer and release the adults. I work full time outside the home but am home in the summer (teacher). I am available weekends and weekday evenings, with sufficient notice of weekday needs. I am usually available Friday evening through Sunday evening. I am looking to do drop-in pet care and dog boarding. I could board a small pet that resides in an enclosure in my home or a dog (or two dogs from the same household). Both my cats are comfortable with dogs but tend to keep to themselves. I have 2 children and 2 cats at home. It’s a one floor house. The yard is nice and big. I don’t have a fence but I do have a longer leash so the dogs can run a bit.
About: I have had the pleasure and joy of being able to take care of lots of different animals for over 10 years. I spent some time on a farm where taking care of sheep, pigs, chicken, ducks, and the barn cats and dogs was a daily thing. Later on, I was the proud mama of a german shepherd named Bruno who stole my heart in every way. Unfortunately he is now gone since November of 2023. Since then, my lifestyle has changed and I am not able to have another dog of my own due to long working hours four days out of the week. However I love taking care of pets, especially dogs, and this is the perfect way to still have a connection with these wonderful creatures, even if they are not my own :) I promise to take care of yours as if it was my own! They will be royally treated with me! My Fridays through Sundays are free from other work and I would love to be able to take care of your pets, especially your dogs! I have a spacious home where your pet can feel free to roam and rest. I also have many trails I can take them on walks. There is also a spacious park area where we can play around if that's what your dog prefers! If I am coming to your home, I am more than happy to walk them short or long distances, play with them, or tend to any other pet needs!
“I highly recommend Rebekah! Our first experience using Rover and was more than pleased with the care and concern Rebekah gave our cat George! I think he was a little spoiled actually, and couldn’t be happier. Will definitely use her service again!”

“Faith is a rockstar. Not only does she truly love animals, but she’s quite the animal whisperer. It’s clear from the numerous photos that she provides that my cat loves her just as much as she loves him. Faith is excellent with communication and on several occasions she has responded to my cat-sitting requests on super short notice. I cannot recommend her enough.”

About: I have some experience as a child as my single mother let me have a Gerbil, a Hamster, and some fish up until I talked her into a dog when I was 16. His name was Scotty and he was the sweetest Pomeranian. -We got him from an elder who was moving into a nursing home and could only take one of her two Pomeranians that were siblings. Leaving Scotty available to adopt. We were initially told at the time he was 3, but his first vet visit we took him on they said he was 5. So we never really knew his true age. Now I have a 3 y/o Mini-Poodle who I learned about early summer of 2020-Prime COVID19/Lockdown time frame. At the time, I had been with my partner, Steve for over 2 years and was living with him and his 7y/o Rat Terrier-Chihuahua, Bear. I was jealous of their bond and wanted to add a female puppy to our family. Rory has shocked me with her talent and smarts in the last 3 years. She is sassy, smart, and sometimes can be shy and scared. I am open to discuss your want and needs and can be flexible. We take them out in the morning, afternoon, and evening’s at the very minimum. We treat our dogs as people to say the least haha. We clean their feet and wipe them if needed (girl always needs it ) after coming inside each time we take them out on their leash to go potty throughout the day. We brush them at least weekly to keep them happy and clean. My background in ABA techniques is a helpful tool to have when required.

Leah is an amazing dog sitter!! Her communication was amazing!! Loved getting pictures of my pup while I was away! I have a dog who is very anxious, and she warmed up to Leah so quickly! She is great with dogs and very caring! It gave me piece of mind and I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing Blue was is great hands and well taken care of!! I will definitely be using her again!! Thank you Leah!!

Rebeckah is incredible!! She leaves the best reviews, photos and updates on the girls. I trust her 100% to make sure my BBs are happy and healthy. She is very aware of their needs, especially being cautious on walks in the summer heat. I feel very lucky to have found such amazing help with my girls!!! She brings them fun activities and makes sure their water full. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for hand with their pups.

Shannon has been an excellent sitter for my cat, Apollo. She administers his meds on each visit and gives him lots of attention and love that he clearly loves from the pictures she sends. I'd definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a reliable, caring and dependable sitter for your pet.

Arthur was great with my girls. 2 of them a bit leary with men they don't know well but seems things went well. He locked up when done and they all seemed just fine when I got home. He has a gentle nature with the pups and that is comforting from a stranger. I highly recommend to others and will call Arthur again.

Giada is great with our 2 dogs, we used her a few times while she’s home from school. Both our dogs love her and I will use her again when she’s home from school! She’s reliable and very kind. Thanks Giada for taking care of our fur babies while we were on vacation durning the Holidays.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
