“Erena was great communicating how Sadie was doing, even when Sadie was a bit restless initially. Sadie had fun playing in the yard, as she is tired now. Thanks for the active day!”

“When you drop your doggy off you can tell that Patricia is someone who truly loves dogs. She always has playmates which is perfect for my puppy to socialize and he always comes home to me happy and tired! Definetely recommend she is very flexible with time as well.”

“Mary was great. We were in the area for an unexpected family trip and wanted to do a little nearby sight-seeing without leaving Bibi alone in a strange environment. She took us on with late notice and was a great communicator through the whole process, which was especially great as we were new to the Rover platform. Highly recommend. Thanks so much.”

“Rhondarose took such great care of my 5 month old puppy, kept me updated. First time leaving him alone and she made me feel so comfortable! Boe had so much fun!”

“Sue has been watching our pup Archie for a while with her daughter and does an amazing job. She treats him like her own giving us piece of mind that our pup is safe and happy while we are at work. We also appreciate the socialization he’s gotten meeting some other pups while at day care. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sue to anyone!”
About: Hi! I’m a caring and reliable dog walker and sitter with a deep love for animals and hands-on experience as a proud pet parent to my sweet 9-year-old Maltipoo. I treat every dog like my own—with patience, love, and lots of tail-wagging fun. Whether your pup needs a daily walk or a cozy home while you’re away, you can count on me for safe, personalized care. I’m here to give your furry friend the attention and care they deserve. Safety, comfort, and tail wags guaranteed! I work from home, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility to care for your pup! I’m available for dog walks any day between 10 AM and 9 PM, and I also offer boarding any day of the week. Whether your dog needs a midday walk or a cozy place to stay while you’re away, I’ve got you covered with lots of attention, playtime, and love. I live in a quiet cul-de-sac, perfect for calm walks. Dogs are always kept on-leash outside, and I take them to fenced-in parks for safe playtime. At home, they get a clean, cozy space with lots of care and supervision.
“Our stay with Courtney was SOO great!! My dog was really anxious at first as this is her first time in daycare with a new person, but by the second day Belle wasn’t nervous at all. By the end out our daycare session she didn’t mind leaving me at all. I could tell she was getting all the love while she was there and enjoyed being there! Courtney was great, she was super helpful and accommodating with start and end times and let me know if she had any concerns or issues with belle during her stay. Her little one Pucca was respectful that Belle wasn’t very playful l, though I’m sure she was disappointed! I would definitely recommend and rebook with Courtney! Thank you!!”

“Marta is extremely flexible and dependable. I can tell Ernie loves going to daycare at her house! She is able to accommodate his separation anxiety which is a huge plus. I enjoy the many updates/pictures I receive when Ernie is in her loving care. Highly recommend!”

“Patricia was great to work with. She was able to help dog sit last minute. She provided great care and followed up with us and provided timely updates. Would definitely recommend.”

“She is an incredible professional. Her energy, knowledge, and passion for training dogs really stand out. She doesn't just work with the dogs—she also teaches owners how to better understand and train them. Scöll always comes home happy, relaxed, and excited after spending time with her, which says a lot about the care and dedication she puts into her work. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an outstanding dog trainer.”

“My baby Blaze gets so exited to go to his sitter. He is super responsive and kind 10/10. I highly recommend him and will be using his services for the foreseeable future.”

About: My journey with Rover began approximately 8 years ago and it's been a delight to meet and care for furry babies when their parents were in need of a responisible and trusted caretaker. At that time, my Lola, was just as excited to befriend and play with pals. As my Lola grew older, she developed medical issues and my attention and all the time I could give, was directed only towards her. Therefore, I took a pause to spend time with her and give her all I could. Her time, to join the rest of angel friends, came on December 17th, 2025. I came back to Rover simply because I miss the company of the most pure soul and my best friend of 13 years. I know how important it is to leave your pet in good care, cater to your best friend just as your own family and hope to meet them soon.
“Absolutely wonderful! Andy was so kind and caring to Walter. He was also very understanding when we had a travel hiccup. I wholeheartedly recommend having him watch your furry loved ones!”

“Prithvi has been absolutely wonderful from the start of our communication, to the meet and greet, and to caring after Penny today while our caregivers are still out of town. I felt very comfortable leaving Penny with Prithvi and her new friend Loki. Thank you for the updates, pictures and videos.”

About: I love taking care of dogs. I have my own dog who is very friendly and loves to play but also loves to be lazy. I've watched dogs for friends and family members for years and always enjoy it so I decided to open my home to more frequent furry guests. All dogs are treated like my own and get lots of love and attention (or space, if that's what they prefer). I'm happy to administer medications or accommodate individual needs. Working from home full-time enables me to closely supervise furry guests and allow for plenty of time to tend to their needs and provide lots of outside time by opening and closing the door multiple times a day (haha). I have a fenced-in yard and large deck for doggy sunbathing. My dog loves having canine guests and doesn't mind sharing me, his bed, toys, or food. I also have a teenage daughter who absolutely loves having more dogs around. I have lots of extra blankets and allow dogs on the furniture and beds. Everything is washed regularly. Paws are always wiped on muddy yard days. If your dog prefers sleeping in a crate or having a crate for alone time, that is perfectly fine, too.
“D’Artagnan is a great provider for our boy and made sure to send us updates every once in a while to let us know he was doing alright. Reassuring and understood things our boy couldn’t eat or do. Overall very satisfied and believe our boy had a great time.”

About: The phrase man’s (or woman’s) best friend is extremely fitting for me! I connect so well with animals, and have always been a reliable source for family, friends, neighbors, and more! I have dog walked, pet sit for cats and dogs, and taken care of pets (including my own dog) since I was 10 years old. Animals are a huge part of my life and I want to surround myself with them more! I currently am a sports photographer so I only go in at most once per week to capture photos and videos, and then I edit at home. Sometimes it gets lonely, so I would absolutely love to take care of a pet whenever I can! I have a perfect dog park in my neighborhood, a nice walking path where sometimes there are other furry friends out for walks so we can meet them if they are interested, and a cozy home that welcomes any pet!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Palatine
Louie had his first time day daycare with Mary. There were a few other dogs there that Louie seemed to be very happy with. Mary is super kind and friendly and I can tell her whole family cares for all of these dogs in their home. Having him here in a home is so much better for him than some of the other larger doggy daycare‘s I’ve been to in the past. He seemed very relaxed and happy when I picked him up.

Robert and Val showed lots of care for my fur baby, Pantera. They were both very welcoming and made sure my dog was comfortable and settled in. I also received pictures and updates throughout the day, which was nice. I would definitely book them again in the future.

Jessica was amazing at communicating with me as we are new to Rover. She helped me feel reassured that our pups would be in great hands and we were extremely satisfied with her services! You can really feel that she loves caring for pets and our pups seemed pretty happy as well. We will be back real soon!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
