“Andrew came over and met our pups. He not only followed my specific instructions, but one of our dogs had thrown up before Andrew came over to take them out, and Andrew cleaned it up for me while I was away. He is a super nice and conscientious guy. I would not hesitate to have him come over again!”

About: Animals have always been one of the greatest teachers in my life. Through my work as a shepherd and livestock caretaker, I’ve learned that every animal has its own language, personality, and needs. Working alongside livestock guardian dogs especially taught me the value of patience, observation, and earning an animal’s trust rather than demanding it. I love taking the time to get to know each pet as an individual and providing the kind of attentive, reliable care that helps both pets and their people feel at ease. I currently work part-time, which gives me flexibility throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and pet care visits. My schedule varies somewhat, but I do my best to be reliable, communicative, and consistent with each pet’s routine. I’m an active person who enjoys being outdoors, so I love spending time walking dogs, playing with them, or simply keeping them company while their owners are away. I believe pets do best when they can stick to their normal routine. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll follow feeding schedules, exercise routines, medications, and any specific instructions closely. Through my work with livestock and livestock guardian dogs, I’ve learned to pay attention to animal behavior and pick up on subtle changes that may indicate something is off. Most importantly, I want your pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away, and I’ll keep you updated along the way with messages and photos.

Based on word of mouth in friends and acquaintances. We will provide a nurturing environment where your pets feel like part of our family. As parents of three kids, we involve our children in daily pet care routines, teaching them responsibility and compassion. This hands-on approach ensures your pets receive personalized attention and affection. We understand that each pet has unique needs. Whether it's administering medication, adhering to specific feeding schedules, or providing extra playtime, we customize our services to ensure your pet's comfort and well-being. We believe in keeping you informed and are happy to provide updates and photos of your pets during our visits, so you can rest easy knowing they're in good hands. We are deeply connected to our local community. Our services are designed to support families and pet owners in our area, fostering a sense of trust and familiarity. Kids are in a hybrid homeschool program my husband works a remote job from home and I am a full time mom so we are in and out several times a day but rarely gone more than 30-60 mins at a time. Which means we are available for pet care at regular intervals majority of the day 7 days a week. We live on a one acre property set back from the road and fenced around the sides and back. We do have a gate that we put across the driveway at night to keep the deer out of the fruit orchard so we have the possibility of fencing the whole property by putting the deer gate up in the day. We have a separate fenced back yard off of our deck with dog door access from the living room of the house. We have 2 cats that have their own space in the garage with in and out access. And we have a 30 lb 16 year old dog named Ninja he is mellow and sweet and sleeps most of the day.

“Forest was great! He quickly befriended my kitties and took excellent care of them with his daily drop ins. The daily photos were perfect and he kept me informed of everything. I’ll definitely be rebooking!”

“Kari was a wonderful caregiver for my husky Watson. She was thoughtful, prompt and punctual and shared wonderful updates and pictures during the course of my travel over the holidays. She dealt with storms and power outages and kept me in the loop on status - knowing she was with Watson took my worries away and let me further enjoy time away with my family over the holidays. I would definitely recommend her to anyone with a pup!”

“Cami was so excellent with my sweet kitty Lucy - incredibly accommodating with my last-minute requests, and so attentive to Lucy’s needs. I returned to a really content cat which is all I could ask for!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets for the past 5 years, ranging from puppies and kittens to senior pets needing medications. All pets are treated like family in my care, whether it’s a relaxing day at home or a fun day at the beach! I’m currently working a 7am-5pm weekday job, and I go home for lunches. My partner comes home around 4pm, and the property is shared with a retail store, whose owner loves to say hi during the day. I can be available in the early mornings, evenings, & weekends. Other times may be available upon request, especially if you live close to town, I can go over for a quick visit during my lunch break. I have a secure, fenced yard that is always at least half-shaded. I have a very friendly 1.5 year old border collie mix that will keep your pup occupied & enjoys sharing toys with friends.

“Cat was so wonderful! She kept in constant communication through the few days she took care of my dog so I never had to worry. She also was flexible with visit times since the weather was extremely hot and walks would not be possible during the time frame I had her booked. I would absolutely book with her again. Thank you, Cat!”

Melissa was awesome! She checked on and kept good care of our dog Beau while my wife and I were gone for work. Our dog had an accident on the bed and she even helped put the bedsheets in the washer/dryer for us! She was so helpful and I will definitely recommend others to request her dog sitting services!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
