Experienced and loving pet care
I have had pets my entire life and consider my pets family. I have experience with all types of animals from horses, alpacas, and other livestock, to dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, and birds. Though I don’t currently have a dog, I have had many canine companions in the past and am the go-to dog sitter for friends and family. Big or small, I love all dogs and their unique personalities. My current critter family includes one elderly cat (who hates dogs), a Greek tortoise, and five hens who mostly stay in the backyard except when my kiddo sneaks them in the house. As a teenager I helped out at a veterinarian’s office doing the hard and dirty work and have a full appreciation for the less pleasant side of caring for our animal loved ones. Participating in 4H as a youth helped me build skills and best practices for safely caring for a wide variety of animals. I love playing with dogs and cats, taking dogs for walks/hikes/to the beach, and snuggling kitties that need cuddles. I’m happy to take your dog fast and far or enjoy a lazy sniff-every-bush walk depending on what is needed. Every pet I have met has their own personality and I enjoy getting to know them and making them feel comfortable and safe so their humans can feel confident being away.

When getting to know a new pet, I like to have a meet and greet with the pet parent so I can learn the ropes, gather information in regards to special concerns, and will ask what vet you use in case of emergencies. I love to hear about unique quirks and pet parent concerns so I can provide the best care possible.

Zarah is an exceptional pet sitter. The animals loved her immediately upon meeting her. She took very good care of them and sent lovely updates daily. My rabbit is generally a messy little guy but she kept his chaos in check. My cat is usually shy but he loved being loved by Zarah.

Schedule
I am delighted to accommodate dog walk and drop-in care clients between 6:30am and 8pm with before/after work hours availability on weekdays and anytime on weekends. I do not currently offer stay in your home services or care for cats and dogs in my own home. I am able to care for small mammals, birds, or reptiles in my home so please ask if this is a service you are looking for.

- It’s very helpful to know what times your dog usually walks and/or gets played with, as well as how they react to other dogs, kids, and anything else that might be encountered out in the world. I’d appreciate hearing about your training and communication style as well as any dog rules I can enforce or skills you are working on with them.
