“We had Beatriz house sit for us and take care of our two cats. This was the first time we had someone stay in our house, and Beatriz was wonderful! She was very professional and communicative. I know our cats were happy to have the company while and it felt much easier to leave knowing she would be there with them and also keeping an eye on things while we were away. She cleaned up after herself and was very respectful of our home. I would definitely recommend Beatriz for house and or cat sitting, and would have her back!”

“This was my first time using Rover but Joseph and Meg put me at ease. They sent me multiple pictures of my dog and updates on how she was doing. They even made a late trip back to my house because my flight was so late. I was extremely happy with them and already have them booked again. I would highly recommend them as sitters.”
“Joleen was wonderful! She gave us several updates and photos during our weekend trip - Ralph was very comfortable with her, and we are so happy to have had such a kind and considerate person taking care of our pup.”

“AnnMarie was more than helpful for watching over Marley. We had an intro call so that she could get to know him and his needs, and on the day of the petsitting she was very kind, professional, and took excellent care of Marley. We couldn't have asked for better help. Thank you so much AnnMarie!!!”

“Emily was a fantastic sitter, she provided regular updates and photos, and allowed us to truly enjoy our time away from home without worrying about our dog. I will absolutely reach out to Emily again for our next trip!”

“Jamie took great care of our dog. She was communicative and was able to help us out last minute. Callie seemed to have a great time and felt very comfortable with Jamie. We will definitely rebook!”

About: ***Apply promo code LESLIP89701 for $20 off your first booking. *** I'm a local cat mom with 13 years of experience. I have a 9 year old Raggamuffin named Patches. I specialize in cat care, but also have hands-on experience caring for dogs of my friends and family. Whether I'm visiting a shy cat who needs space or an energetic dog ready for a walk, I promise to show up consistently, follow your pet's routine, and keep you updated with photos so you can relax while you're away. I currently have an open and flexible schedule which means I can accommodate early morning visits, evening drop-ins, and multi-day house sitting stays. Whether I'm doing a drop-in, a dog walk, or an overnight sit, I treat your pet and home the way I'd want mine treated. For cat visits I follow feeding and play routines, scoop the litter, and refresh water. For dog walks I keep them to familiar, low-traffic routes until I know your dog well. For house sits, I keep the space tidy with doors and windows secure.
“Lilian was fantastic with Dexter and Nova during our booking. Dexter, our energetic little pup, and Nova, our sweet cat, were both calm, happy, and clearly well cared for when we got home. Lilian kept everything smooth and stress‑free, giving them plenty of attention and making sure their routines stayed on track. It’s such a relief knowing they were in kind, capable hands. We’d definitely book with her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of my neighbor’s cats since I was young, I’ve dog sat for friends, family, and friends of the family. I’ve taken care of 4 rambunctious dogs at once so I can handle the commotion. I am back in school so I can take care of pets whenever I’m not in class. Though I will need time to study and do homework outside of class I still will have plenty of time to take care of your pets. I do whatever the owner wants me to do to take care of their pets. I normally walk them once a day, feed them, let them out a couple times, and give them plenty of attention.

About: I have a family of 3 🤍👩🏻🐶🧑🏽including our mini Golden Doodle, Daisy. I am here to provide top-tier care for your pup. Just as I dote on Daisy as our own, your furry companion will receive the same loving treatment. Daisy is incredibly affectionate and adores the company of other dogs. I come from the business world and operate from the comfort of our home offices. I offer round-the-clock (24/7) care for your pet thanks to my flexible work schedule. Your furry friend will enjoy plenty of playtime, exercise, undivided attention, and lots of love. I will share lots of photos to share with you all the fun we are having! I will be super respectful of your home and only be there for the requested time and always focusing on our main goal which is to care for your pet.
“Barbara was awesome! She stayed in our home for a week with our rescue dog who is incredibly stubborn. She was so patient with him and found some great ways to get him out of the house and playing. We got lots of great pictures and felt so good knowing that he was in good hands. She also left our house spotless! Thanks Barbara!! :)”

“From the very first meet‑and‑greet, I knew Carina was the perfect match for my boy, Sheppy. She connected with him instantly, and the peace of mind I felt from that moment only grew throughout my trip abroad. Carina went above and beyond while staying in my home and caring for Sheppy. She checked in regularly, shared the sweetest photos, and kept me updated in a way that made me feel completely at ease. It was clear she treated him with the same love, patience, and attention she would give her own dog. Carina is responsible, thoughtful, and genuinely gifted with animals. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I’m so grateful for the care she gave my boy. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their furry family member. I will be booking her again even without travel plans just to keep Sheppy and his new BFF Carina connected.”

“Tom did a great job with Chidi! He can be tricky and he was very patient as Chidi reacclimated. He also shoveled our stairs and cleaned off our car after the snow which was nice to come home to.”

“Kadence was wonderful at looking after my dog. She was patient during his "warm up" phase but got him to settle down and settle in. Unfortunately he needed at trip to the emergency vet and Kadence handled it calmly and competently. We had good communication throughout my vacation and I returned home to a happy dog and clean house.”

“Odris was helpful, communicative and wonderful overall. We needed her for a very extended period and she stayed with our pup the whole time. She was kind and our dog was clearly very comfortable with her!”

I can’t say enough good things about Ava. We had never left our dog with anyone prior to this trip. Our pup is anxious & not super fond of having guests at our house, so we weren’t even sure it would work. Ava won her over during several dog walks & visits, and the overnight stay went better than I could ever have hoped. Ava sent lots of photos during her stay, which helped us enjoy our vacation with peace of mind. She is responsible & easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!

Joseph and Meg were fantastic! They were always responsive and took great care of our dog and cat. I had our house professionally deep cleaned before our 2 week trip when Joseph and Meg would be staying at our house. When we got back, it looked EXACTLY the same! They were very respectful of our space and I will most definitely be using them again.

Dari was great with my boy, she communicated a lot with me and send me pictures my boy was having a blast with her 😹 I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I have trust issues and I never felt a bad vibe or anything I was at peace with my boy being under her care for my 4 day trip. Would definitely book her again when needed.

For the past 5 years it’s been increasingly difficult to find dependable and understanding house sitters for my anxious and fearful Chihuahua.Jacky is both and more. She was punctual and adapted to Finn’s personality and schedule without a problem. He’s scared and yippy when meeting new people but it didn’t take long for him to cuddle up to Jacky. There were many pictures and updates which I appreciated and put me at ease knowing that Finn was being well cared for.Unfortunately, for us, distance is a problem going forward with house sitting which is our main need.I would not hesitate for a second to have Jacky care for Finn, again, and I highly recommend her.Your babies will be in excellent hands.

Sasha is simply the best. She gives me such peace of mind because I know with her my dog is as well cared for as if I was there myself. She is the consummate professional, we are so incredibly thankful and lucky to have her in our lives. It does not get better for your dogs caretaker than Sasha G.

The average cost for House Sitting in Methuen on Rover is $50 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Methuen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Methuen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Methuen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
