“Magnoly is literally the best! She was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable with our dog Apollo and we’ll absolutely be booking with her again! She communicates everything every step of the way and was sooo flexible when I booked the wrong dates for visits and when we asked her to drop in again on short notice! She couldn’t have been a better person for Apollo’s first night by himself and our first Rover experience, we absolutely love her!!”

“Amanda was very professional and super easy to work with! She kept us well informed around her visits, and took great care of our cats. Our usually picky cat even really got into playing with her! We’d definitely love to book her again.”

“I can’t recommend Maddy enough! She took amazing care of my cat, Jinx, while I was away. Maddy was incredibly thoughtful, responsible, and clearly loves animals. She kept me updated with photos and little notes about how Jinx was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I got home, Jinx was happy and relaxed. It’s such a relief knowing I can trust someone who genuinely cares. If you’re looking for someone to treat your pets like family, Maddy’s the one!”

“Ann Marie was an amazing sitter for our two kitties! My first time using a sitter but she made the process seamless and gave us peace of mind. She even took time to take photos and give them treats. Couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely rebook next time we leave for vacation.”

“Bill and I always feel better after Jill checks on Murphy! Jill is timely, reliable and sends photos of our girls, which always makes our day. Murphy can't wait to see Jill again!”

“Walter was so courteous and showed up on time every day and I could tell me animals were taken care of. He even offered more support for the animals for an extended period when my travel was impacted by the snow. He came 2x a day for my dogs and played with them and even stayed extra time s few times, and was able to give them medications and feed them, along with my cats as well. He was also very communicative, and followed instructions. I can tell my animals are happy. I will be using Walter again!”

About: Although I don't have professional pet care experience, I've been a loving pet owner for many years. I cared for my dog for over 10 years and currently have a cat I've cared for for 5 years. I'm responsible, patient, and passionate about giving pets the love, attention, and care they deserve. Hi! I'm a college student studying Biochemistry on the pre-med track with a lifelong love for animals. As a dedicated pet owner and animal lover, I understand the importance of providing pets with attentive, compassionate care. I'm available on weekends and some evenings, and I'd be happy to help care for your furry family members while giving you peace of mind. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will carefully follow your instructions and maintain your pet's normal routine to help them feel comfortable while you're away. Whether it's feeding, walks, playtime, or simply providing companionship, I'll make sure your pet receives attentive care, plenty of affection, and a safe environment at all times.
“Arianna was fantastic! She was super responsive and sent me great photos of my kitty enjoying her company. I even came home to a little Polaroid of my kitty on my kitchen table. Would definitely book Arianna again!”

“Susan was wonderful, sending lots of photos and leaving detailed report cards. She is extremely nice and my girls took to her right away. I would recommend her and will use her again in the future.”

“Amy was very thorough with her details about the visit. Followed my directions on what I am working on with the puppy. And she was very professional when I met her during our meet and greet.”

“Fizzie is slow to trust people but Joseph and Megan are number 1 with him. They are terrific with Fizzie and we are sure that he loves their visits with him. Thank you so much for caring for Fizzie. ”

About: I believe what sets me apart from other sitters is that I’m a very organized and professional person, I am always on time and you can definitely rely on me for anything! I am currently a graduated 18 year old that stays at home most of my days! I have had plenty of work experiences besides pet sitting! I’d be more than willing to stay with any of your fur babies during any hour of the week! Provide proper food and fresh water for health, ensure regular exercise and mental stimulation to keep them happy and engaged, schedule routine vet visits for preventative care, and offer plenty of love, attention, and a safe home for their emotional well being!

About: I’ve had pets all my life but I had a pet all on my own since I was I was 11. Grew up with dogs and transitioned to owning cats when I was older. I’ve also had small rodents and the like. I trained my dog to become a therapy dog in high school as a year long project, and we were able to visit hospitals with children. I make board games and am a content creator, so having an excuse to get up and go outside is nice. I’ll be sure to take plenty of cute videos and pictures of your pet to document my visit :) I’ll adhere to your training, feeding, play, and/or daily routine. It’s important to me that I don’t instill habits into a pet that were not taught by its family (unless requested) a pet’s habits can make or break their behavior with strangers and children.

About: I’ve been taking care of cats and dogs since I was 16 and my love and connection and knowledge has only grown stronger for animals Right now I have plenty of time since it’s winter to take care of any pets, I prefer noon time or 12 and after that I have a two floor house plenty of room for a pet to enjoy himself and feel at home I had a round fenced backyard as well as stream in back of the fence

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Methuen
Yary provided care for my two dogs with only one day notice! First time using Rover and so impressed. She went above and beyond to give them a break from a long day home alone. The pictures she sent were adorable. I know they had quality time outside. Will definitely call on her again!

Ericka was great: she won Percy over and maintained daily schedule and tasks and kept us regularly informed, going above and beyond when we forgot to replace the battery in the time-release feeder! First time with Rover and Ericka and it was such a relief to entrust our kitty to such good care, now that he's on twice a day thyroid pills. Thank you!

Ava was AMAZING with our puppy, Willow! She watched her 3-5 days a week for a couple of months, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She was flexible with our schedule, always reliable, and her communication was excellent—we always felt at ease knowing Willow was in great hands. We would absolutely book with Ava again! Highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
