Joleen did an amazing job taking care of our two dogs. One of our dogs is a little nervous about meeting new people, she did excellent at getting him comfortable with her. We got photos throughout the day. Would definitely ask her to watch our dogs again.

Beatriz did a great job watching my dog while I was away for a short trip. She gathered lots of information from me beforehand, provided just the right amount of photos and updates, and gave my dog a lot of attention. I found her to be motivated, responsible, focused, and tidy. I will definitely request her for future trips.

About: I’ve taken care of my neighbor’s cats since I was young, I’ve dog sat for friends, family, and friends of the family. I’ve taken care of 4 rambunctious dogs at once so I can handle the commotion. I am back in school so I can take care of pets whenever I’m not in class. Though I will need time to study and do homework outside of class I still will have plenty of time to take care of your pets. I do whatever the owner wants me to do to take care of their pets. I normally walk them once a day, feed them, let them out a couple times, and give them plenty of attention.

Barbara was awesome! She stayed in our home for a week with our rescue dog who is incredibly stubborn. She was so patient with him and found some great ways to get him out of the house and playing. We got lots of great pictures and felt so good knowing that he was in good hands. She also left our house spotless! Thanks Barbara!! :)

Ann Marie did a great job caring for my older French Bulldog while I was away on a sort trip. She was very easy to work with, responded promptly, kept me informed throughout her stay, and had lots of patience letting my dog get to know her and become friends. I will definitely consider her for future bookings.

About: ***Apply promo code LESLIP89701 for $20 off your first booking. *** I'm a local cat mom with 13 years of experience. I have a 9 year old Raggamuffin named Patches. I specialize in cat care, but also have hands-on experience caring for dogs of my friends and family. Whether I'm visiting a shy cat who needs space or an energetic dog ready for a walk, I promise to show up consistently, follow your pet's routine, and keep you updated with photos so you can relax while you're away. I currently have an open and flexible schedule which means I can accommodate early morning visits, evening drop-ins, and multi-day house sitting stays. Whether I'm doing a drop-in, a dog walk, or an overnight sit, I treat your pet and home the way I'd want mine treated. For cat visits I follow feeding and play routines, scoop the litter, and refresh water. For dog walks I keep them to familiar, low-traffic routes until I know your dog well. For house sits, I keep the space tidy with doors and windows secure.

If I could give Tom 100 stars, I would. He truly went above and beyond in caring for our dogs. From the moment we left, we received continuous updates and photos which gave me complete peace of mind. He didn't just cover the basics, he showered them with so much genuine love, care, and attention. The real proof was in our dogs' behavior they were actually sad when he left! It is so rare to find someone who connects with your babies like this. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

About: I have had dogs since I was a child. Throughout the years I have owned Shepards, Rottweilers and most recently Boxers. They have been a part of our family since before I can remember but after losing our last Boxer “babies” and with the kids now in college, I have decided to pour my love for dogs into taking care of yours. It was always stressful leaving our dogs so let me take some of that stress away from you. I promise to stay in contact, send pictures and give them a home away from home. I work 3 minutes from home with a typical workday being 8-4 with an hour lunch. Although I will say this is pretty flexible. However, my husband works from home so there is always someone home. I am happy to come to your home to take your dog for a walk or to let him/her out in your yard. I can also feed him/her and give any needed medications. Or in my home, they will be treated like our own. We do allow pets on the furniture if that is what they are used to and accept dogs that are not crate trained.

We needed a sitter at the last minute and John was great with our husky/pyr rescue dog, who can be anxious, especially when we are away. I was nervous leaving Nala with someone new, but John stayed with her to make sure she had company and lots of attention. Nala loves laying out in our yard most of the day and he was constantly checking on her to make sure she was okay and had her food and water. He was also very responsive whenever I checked in for updates which gave me the peace of mind needed to enjoy my vacation. I would definitely recommend booking John if you need a trusted dog sitter for your pup.

I will definitely be calling on Courtney again!!

I can’t say enough good things about Ava. We had never left our dog with anyone prior to this trip. Our pup is anxious & not super fond of having guests at our house, so we weren’t even sure it would work. Ava won her over during several dog walks & visits, and the overnight stay went better than I could ever have hoped. Ava sent lots of photos during her stay, which helped us enjoy our vacation with peace of mind. She is responsible & easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!

From the very first meet‑and‑greet, I knew Carina was the perfect match for my boy, Sheppy. She connected with him instantly, and the peace of mind I felt from that moment only grew throughout my trip abroad. Carina went above and beyond while staying in my home and caring for Sheppy. She checked in regularly, shared the sweetest photos, and kept me updated in a way that made me feel completely at ease. It was clear she treated him with the same love, patience, and attention she would give her own dog. Carina is responsible, thoughtful, and genuinely gifted with animals. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I’m so grateful for the care she gave my boy. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their furry family member. I will be booking her again even without travel plans just to keep Sheppy and his new BFF Carina connected.

Seana was the absolute BEST person that I could have left my puppy with. My puppy is still just 5 months old and with that comes many puppy behaviors that can be hard to handle. But Seana clearly loves dogs and especially Golden Retrievers like Noodles and therefore she did an amazing job. She was incredibly responsive, sent many updates, and even brought Noodles to her house so she could play with her golden. While I was nervous to leave Noodles I knew based off our meet and greet that everything was going to be okay and it was even better than okay. I came home to a happy and healthy and well tired out puppy and I couldn’t have asked for anything more!

FAQs for House Sitting - North Andover

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in North Andover on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 6,145 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across North Andover. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Andover walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Andover maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Andover choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Andover. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
