“If I could give Tom 100 stars, I would. He truly went above and beyond in caring for our dogs. From the moment we left, we received continuous updates and photos which gave me complete peace of mind. He didn't just cover the basics, he showered them with so much genuine love, care, and attention. The real proof was in our dogs' behavior they were actually sad when he left! It is so rare to find someone who connects with your babies like this. I cannot recommend him highly enough.”

“Jacklyn took great care of our two young (3mo and 1.5yr old), energetic pups! She made sure they got the exercise & enrichment they needed, as well as the calm, rest time. She left the house in perfect condition, and we came home to two happy, healthy girls!”

“Kerri is wonderful! We are grateful to have found her. She is very communicative and flexible and our pup took to her right away. She even sent us photos from the visit.”

“We had a great experience with Josselyn! She watched our year and a half old husky while we were at work and kept us updated throughout the day. She was very attentive to his potty training needs, took him out often, and took him on a long walk to help get his energy out. She even brought him a special treat after checking with us about allergies, which we really appreciated. He was clearly well cared for, and she will definitely be our go-to sitter!”

“Lauren was fantastic with Atlas. She was also very communicative with pics, updates, and asking questions when he got anxious about a party next door and how to best support him. Will definitely book with her again!”

“AnnMarie was more than helpful for watching over Marley. We had an intro call so that she could get to know him and his needs, and on the day of the petsitting she was very kind, professional, and took excellent care of Marley. We couldn't have asked for better help. Thank you so much AnnMarie!!!”

“Masiel was friendly and came over a few days before the booking to meet our dog. She got along well with our dog and took him for several walks. She kept us updated with photos and videos. She also kept the house clean. We would definitely book her again. Thank you!”

About: I've had pets my whole life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I treat every pet like they're my own and understand how important it is for owners to feel at ease while they're away. I've helped friends and family with their pets over the years, and I know every animal has their own personality and comfort level. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind. Since I work from home, pets are rarely left alone and receive plenty of supervision, attention, and potty breaks throughout the day. Whether your pet is working on potty training, crate training, or following a specific routine, I’m happy to help keep things consistent while they’re in my care. I provide a safe, clean, calm, and smoke-free environment. While I don’t have a fenced yard, dogs receive regular walks, potty breaks, and exercise based on their individual needs and energy levels. For privacy and safety reasons, I don’t offer home tours.
“We had a great experience leaving our dogs, cat, and home in Annie's care! She was communicative and shared lots of photos but also gave us the freedom to enjoy our time away. The animals seemed to enjoy their time with her and the house was in great shape when we came home. Really all you can ask for! We look forward to using Annie's services again in the future.”

“Michelle was great! Our dog can be very shy and nervous. Michelle was able to gain my dogs confidence. She sent pictures and updates every day. I enjoyed my vacation knowing my dog Nellie was safe and comfortable. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Catherine gave our senior kitty wonderful care and attention over two overnights and days. She was also patient and responsive to these first-time clients over-concerned about being away from our cat. We so appreciated the updates, photos, videos, and reassurances, and now feel much more confident about leaving him, especially under Catherine's care. Thank you so much.”

“Sam was an amazing sitter for our 3 dogs and they loved her company so much. She watched the dogs while we had to travel far for a concert and she kept them loved and entertained until we returned. She is kind, sweet and clearly loves our dogs. She updated us with photos and kept us up to date frequently. We will hire her again without question!”

“Alexa has watched our Romie a couple of times now. She is always very communicative and on time. She sent us updates and pictures while we were gone. Romie has separation anxiety, but he eventually warmed to her. I'd highly recommend Alexa!”

“Andrew is an amazing dog sitter! He stayed at our home for two weeks while we were on vacation and looked after our 2 dogs. He was amazing, he texted us daily updates with pictures and even found a fenced area to play fetch with my mini aussie as he is high energy. Followed the care instructions for my yorkie who just had surgery. He definitely went above and beyond and I 100% recommend him!”

“Shelley is a great sitter! She is responsive and very communicative when she was house sitting our cat and dog. Our dog and cat warmed up to her instantly during our meet & greet. It was obvious safety was very important to her as well. Would book again without hesitation!”

“Ava was so amazing with our two dogs! Our puppy had significant training requirements and she handled them all with such care and was so great about checking in. Our senior dog isn’t a big fan of eating but she tried really hard several different ways to try to get him to eat. We loved getting all the photo updates about our dudes while we were away!”

Carol did a wonderful job caring for our foster dog! He did all of his normal things and was very happy when we arrived home, no changes in his behavior, eating or play habits while we were gone, he felt completely comfortable with her. She sent lots of pictures and updates on how he was doing, and it was very reassuring to us since it was our first time leaving him! Thanks for taking terrific care of our little guy!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Reading walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Reading maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Reading choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
