“If I could give Tom 100 stars, I would. He truly went above and beyond in caring for our dogs. From the moment we left, we received continuous updates and photos which gave me complete peace of mind. He didn't just cover the basics, he showered them with so much genuine love, care, and attention. The real proof was in our dogs' behavior they were actually sad when he left! It is so rare to find someone who connects with your babies like this. I cannot recommend him highly enough.”

About: I grew up having 3 dogs and caring for them. They have bad anxiety so I’m really good with comforting anxious dogs. Also if they have certain medications and timing. I currently have a senior dog so I understand the stress of making sure they get proper care. Since I’m a college student my summer is more open so I have an incredibly flexible schedule. I’m an early riser so I’m able to help in the mornings as well. The weekends are more tricky but I could make it work if needed. My own dogs do not do great with other pets due to their anxiety so I would not be able to bring pets back to my home. However, I am able to sit at a house and do over nights. I am comfortable going in to feed them or take them on walks as well.
“Jamie took great care of our dog. She was communicative and was able to help us out last minute. Callie seemed to have a great time and felt very comfortable with Jamie. We will definitely rebook!”

“Barb was amazing as always. Our dog has complicated medical issues that require both oral and IM medication administration and Barb doesn’t flinch!! Our dog loves her and I think she looks forward to us going away now lol”

“Beatriz’ services were above and beyond expectations. She house sat and took care of our four cats for three weeks. Beatriz was professional, detail oriented and took the time to be certain she understood our cats and their care needs before we left. Plenty of pictures and updates while we were gone. When we arrived home, our cats were relaxed and in great place - a sure sign they had been well taken care of. Thank you Beatriz!”

“I highly recommend Kam for pet sitting. My very anxious dog was taken care of so well. She kept in touch with me throughout my trip and sent pictures. I will definitely use her again and refer her to family and friends. I could not be happier.”

About: I'm a local cat mom with 13 years of experience. I have a 9 year old Raggamuffin named Patches. I specialize in cat care, but also have hands-on experience caring for dogs of my friends and family. Whether I'm visiting a shy cat who needs space or an energetic dog ready for a walk, I promise to show up consistently, follow your pet's routine, and keep you updated with photos so you can relax while you're away. I currently have an open and flexible schedule which means I can accommodate early morning visits, evening drop-ins, and multi-day house sitting stays. Whether I'm doing a drop-in, a dog walk, or an overnight sit, I treat your pet and home the way I'd want mine treated. For cat visits I follow feeding and play routines, scoop the litter, and refresh water. For dog walks I keep them to familiar, low-traffic routes until I get to know your pup. For house sits, I keep the space tidy with doors and windows secure.
“Amazing sitter. She took great care of my boy and provided updates. She was also able to help out at the last minute. Will definitely be having her watch him again in the near future.”
“From the very first meet‑and‑greet, I knew Carina was the perfect match for my boy, Sheppy. She connected with him instantly, and the peace of mind I felt from that moment only grew throughout my trip abroad. Carina went above and beyond while staying in my home and caring for Sheppy. She checked in regularly, shared the sweetest photos, and kept me updated in a way that made me feel completely at ease. It was clear she treated him with the same love, patience, and attention she would give her own dog. Carina is responsible, thoughtful, and genuinely gifted with animals. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I’m so grateful for the care she gave my boy. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their furry family member. I will be booking her again even without travel plans just to keep Sheppy and his new BFF Carina connected.”

About: I’ve been pet-sitting for over 20 years! Neighbors, colleagues, family, and friends have relied on me to look after their pets during long and short intervals. Every pet parent knows what it’s like to need an extra hand with their pets, whether it’s an extra check-in or potty break for senior dogs and cats, to some couch time spent with them during a long trip. I like to make sure people come home to a happy pet and that they feel reassured of their pets’ safety and comfort while they’re away! I’m not working during the summer, which means I’m free anytime to spend quality time with your pets. I’m an early riser! Always happy to get a walk in before the sun heats everything up. From September to June I work in an elementary school, which leaves me with a lot of flexible time to walk dogs, cuddle cats, bring in the mail, water the plants, and anything else you need! I will take care of your pets and your home as if they were my own. That means safety is always my top priority for your creatures and your house. I will respect the rules of your house, and do my best to alleviate any concerns you have about being away- frequent check-ins, photo updates, etc. My goal is to provide maximum peace of mind for my clients.
“TJ did a great job with Cruz while we were away. Very good communication. He spent a lot of time walking her and making sure she was well cared for. Sent a bunch of pictures too. I will definitely book him again to sit with Cruz.”

“Kyleigh was a lifesaver!! Kyleigh took our pet sitting job on short notice when our previous sitter had a medical emergency. She took great care of our very timid dog noodles and our two curious cats. Her communication skills are great. She updated us every day. I would definitely have Kyleigh sit for us again!”

About: I have had dogs since I was a child. Throughout the years I have owned Shepards, Rottweilers and most recently Boxers. They have been a part of our family since before I can remember but after losing our last Boxer “babies” and with the kids now in college, I have decided to pour my love for dogs into taking care of yours. It was always stressful leaving our dogs so let me take some of that stress away from you. I promise to stay in contact, send pictures and give them a home away from home. I work 3 minutes from home with a typical workday being 8-4 with an hour lunch. Although I will say this is pretty flexible. However, my husband works from home so there is always someone home. I am happy to come to your home to take your dog for a walk or to let him/her out in your yard. I can also feed him/her and give any needed medications. Or in my home, they will be treated like our own. We do allow pets on the furniture if that is what they are used to and accept dogs that are not crate trained.
“Monika was amazing. Very attentive to our golden Murphy. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Very easy great communication and enjoyable to work with. I will definitely use her again. 5 stars!!”

About: I’ve been around pets my entire life, whether it was feeding my own dogs and cat or volunteering 150+ hours for the MSPCA. My family frequently asks me to feed, walk, or just provide company to their pets, and I am always happy to do so! I am very flexible with rates/services so feel free to reach out with any questions and I'll try my best to make it work. I am home from college in the winter and summer and have lots of availability to provide a friend for your pet! I do work part-time but Rover is my biggest priority. I am a very flexible sitter and base my pet care to the behavioral needs of the dogs. I am always willing to play and use toys or just let them rest if needed!
“AnnMarie was more than helpful for watching over Marley. We had an intro call so that she could get to know him and his needs, and on the day of the petsitting she was very kind, professional, and took excellent care of Marley. We couldn't have asked for better help. Thank you so much AnnMarie!!!”

About: I’ve taken care of my neighbor’s cats since I was young, I’ve dog sat for friends, family, and friends of the family. I’ve taken care of 4 rambunctious dogs at once so I can handle the commotion. I am back in school so I can take care of pets whenever I’m not in class. Though I will need time to study and do homework outside of class I still will have plenty of time to take care of your pets. I am willing to do whatever is needed to ensure your pet gets the proper care. If I’m not given more specific instructions I will walk them once a day, feed them, let them out when needed, and give them plenty of attention.
“As someone dog sits myself, I am very particular about who we trust to watch our pups. This is our second time having Kaitlyn sit for the girls and we feel so, so grateful to have found her. She is very trustworthy, responsible, and caring. I know they are in the best hands with Kaitlyn and the girls are already looking forward to seeing her again in June!”

About: I have lived with dogs my entire life! Currently I have one small senior little dog in our home today. Dogs are allowed on furniture and we have a large fenced in yard with plenty of space for your dog to run around! I 100% work from home and have flexible schedules so that I can play/take your dog/s for a walk throughout the day based on their schedule. I am fully remote and have a flexible schedule. When the weather is nice I tend to work in our backyard so your pets can play outside all they want. Summer months my 4 & 6 year old will be around towards the end of the day and they are balls of energy and love playing with new dog friends. I have a large fenced in back yard for your pets. They would be fed according to your schedule and requirements, and regular photos provided.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Andover
Thanks to John we were able to go out of town and visit with our daughter. He was extremely helpful and took really good care of our pups! We have a challenging Pup on many medications and he did a great job on making sure LANI and others got their medications. We are very grateful and hope to use John again on the future!!

Courtney was an amazing dog sitter to my very nervous dog. She got him settled into his routine and kept me posted all along the way. Courtney took him on many long walks and gave him lots of belly rubs. Also, Courtney left my house as clean as it was when she arrived, even taking out the recycle. I will definitely be calling on Courtney again!!

Kamilla was absolutely amazing with Oliver! She stayed with him for 3 nights and went above and beyond in every way. She even got him a new toy and a pup cup, which I’m know he loved. It was clear she genuinely cared about making sure he was happy and comfortable, not just looked after. I came home to one very content pup. Will 100% be booking again and highly recommend Kamilla to anyone looking for a sitter who truly treats your dog like their own!

Julia did a wonderful job watching our senior lab mix in our home for a long weekend. She sent us regular updates about how our dog was doing and was easy to communicate with. He is on several medications that she administered perfectly. She was respectful of our home and left it just like it was when we left (probably better). We would absolutely hire her again.

Vanessa was amazing! I’ve been a rover pet sitter for a few years but this was my first time using it as a pet parent and I couldn’t be happier! She sent so many pictures and I could tell our cat was being taken care of and completely comfortable with her. I would 1000% recommend Vanessa and plan to use her again.

Monika was wonderful. She had to take care of two dogs who do not get along with each other, a visiting dog and the dog in residence. She did a great job of caring for each dog and taking each of them for a walk. She kept the peace and all was well when we got home.
Sam did a phenomenal job pet sitting for my 2 large dogs. He responded to my short-notice request right away and made arrangements to meet with me ahead of time to meet the dogs, ask questions, and learn about their routines. Sam maintained ongoing communication with me to provide updates on how things were going along with photos. My dogs take time to feel comfortable with new people, and they connected with Sam right away! I am thankful for his care and professionalism, as well as his conscientious approach. Highly recommend and will absolutely use again!

Kyleigh was a lifesaver!! Kyleigh took our pet sitting job on short notice when our previous sitter had a medical emergency. She took great care of our very timid dog noodles and our two curious cats. Her communication skills are great. She updated us every day. I would definitely have Kyleigh sit for us again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Andover on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,295 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Andover. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Andover walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Andover maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Andover choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Andover. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
