“Walter was so courteous and showed up on time every day and I could tell me animals were taken care of. He even offered more support for the animals for an extended period when my travel was impacted by the snow. He came 2x a day for my dogs and played with them and even stayed extra time s few times, and was able to give them medications and feed them, along with my cats as well. He was also very communicative, and followed instructions. I can tell my animals are happy. I will be using Walter again!”

About: Hi, I’m Betsy in Andover and I’m a lifelong pet owner. I have experience caring for and owning dogs, cats, chickens, gerbils, hamsters, and fish. I live with my 4-year-old dog Ruby and 7-year-old cat Bobby. I’ve cared for pets from 12 weeks to 14.5 years old and am comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including high-energy dogs, shy rescues, and seniors. Services include dog walking, backyard play, brushing, bathing, teeth brushing, exercise, training reinforcement, medication administration, overnight boarding (in your home), and drop-ins. I will provide daily photo and video updates. I’m reliable and detail-oriented. Please message me to discuss your pet’s needs or schedule a meetup. I was recently let go from my full-time position. I am in between jobs/contract roles and I am looking to fill up my days and nights. I have a very flexible schedule and I am available with little advanced notice. I would love to take care of your animals as if they were my own. I am a responsible pet caregiver and will take care of your furry family members as if they were my own. I provide updates : text, photos and videos.
About: I am a huge animal lover I have dog and cat sat for multiple different families since I was 13 and would love to continue to do so throughout this summer I am currently working for myself as a gardener so I have plenty of time throughout my week to take care of any kind of pet. I make my own schedule so I can move my work around to fit different walking times and visiting times etc. I have a 6 month old puppy of my own so I have plenty of experience as well as patience when it comes to taking care of dogs and I also have two cats that I grew up with and love hanging out with them whenever I can. I would prefer to take care of your pets in their own home to maximize their comfort while their people are away or at work.
“Magnoly is literally the best! She was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable with our dog Apollo and we’ll absolutely be booking with her again! She communicates everything every step of the way and was sooo flexible when I booked the wrong dates for visits and when we asked her to drop in again on short notice! She couldn’t have been a better person for Apollo’s first night by himself and our first Rover experience, we absolutely love her!!”

“Courtney was so great with my cat, Arya. Arya is normally very skittish around strangers and Courtney was able to engage with her. She also followed all of my care instructions perfectly . 10/10 recommend Courtney.”

“Eleanor did a phenomenal job watching my two dogs over Memorial Day Weekend. Constant communication throughout the drop ins and provided picture updates as well. Highly recommend Eleanor and hope to rebook in the near future!!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life and have one of my own currently so I understand how nerve wrecking it can be leaving your pup in new hands! I ran my own dog walking, sitting & boarding business, worked at a doggy daycare & worked at a dog bakery so I have a great range of experience. I can’t wait to meet and care for your pup! I work from home all week which is what makes pet sitting so much easier. Having my own dog makes scheduling around their needs second nature! I love going on walks and getting the pets active to help get out some of their energy! I’ve used a lot enrichment toys with dogs I’ve watched and those are always super helpful.
“Bill and I always feel better after Jill checks on Murphy! Jill is timely, reliable and sends photos of our girls, which always makes our day. Murphy can't wait to see Jill again!”

About: ***Apply promo code LESLIP89701 for $20 off your first booking. *** I'm a local cat mom with 13 years of experience. I have a 9 year old Raggamuffin named Patches. I specialize in cat care, but also have hands-on experience caring for dogs of my friends and family. Whether I'm visiting a shy cat who needs space or an energetic dog ready for a walk, I promise to show up consistently, follow your pet's routine, and keep you updated with photos so you can relax while you're away. I currently have an open and flexible schedule which means I can accommodate early morning visits, evening drop-ins, and multi-day house sitting stays. Whether I'm doing a drop-in, a dog walk, or an overnight sit, I treat your pet and home the way I'd want mine treated. For cat visits I follow feeding and play routines, scoop the litter, and refresh water. For dog walks I keep them to familiar, low-traffic routes until I know your dog well. For house sits, I keep the space tidy with doors and windows secure.

“Tom was great! He came by our house per our request to meet us and our dog a few days prior to the appointment. He was very communicative and left us lots of pictures during his visit. Will definitely book again!”

“Ann Marie was an amazing sitter for our two kitties! My first time using a sitter but she made the process seamless and gave us peace of mind. She even took time to take photos and give them treats. Couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely rebook next time we leave for vacation.”

“Joleen was wonderful with my two cats while I was away - she left very detailed messages about the visit, including how they were behaving and that everything looked normal in the litterbox. She was quick with communication and took great care of the kitties. Thank you so much Joleen!!!”
“Rachel was great to work with! She came by for several drop in visits for our dog who really enjoyed it! She was easy to communicate with and prompt for each appointment. Would recommend working with her!”

“Allison is the best! She has been available every single time I've requested service even if its last minute. She always keeps me updated on how my puppy is doing and even sends pictures and tells me how many times he went potty. I am always able to rely on her to take good care of my baby while I'm at work! :) Thanks Allison!”
About: I’ve taken care of my neighbor’s cats since I was young, I’ve dog sat for friends, family, and friends of the family. I’ve taken care of 4 rambunctious dogs at once so I can handle the commotion. I am back in school so I can take care of pets whenever I’m not in class. Though I will need time to study and do homework outside of class I still will have plenty of time to take care of your pets. I do whatever the owner wants me to do to take care of their pets. I normally walk them once a day, feed them, let them out a couple times, and give them plenty of attention.

“Alison does a wonderful job watching Max the cat. I have found her to be very reliable, easy to work with and coordinate care/visits, she provides thorough updates daily and takes great care of him. It's easier to be away knowing that she's around!”

Ary did such a wonderful job with our cat while we were away for three weeks. Her communication was great, and she sent multiple pictures each day, which the kids loved seeing. I appreciated all the love and cuddles and care our pet received, we felt she was in very good hands!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Andover. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
