“Catherine was great with our kitties. Very affectionate and kept us up to date. She also shoveled a bit to clear snow from the stairs and spread some salt for us which was much appreciated!”

“Holly did a terrific job! She dealt with an unexpected situation (my fault, gave her the wrong key) with ease. She inspires confidence, took the time to take care of everything we requested.”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has become second nature. Over the years I’ve cared for everything from my family’s golden retriever to my Maine coon cat, to bunnies and horses. I’ve also fostered dogs of all ages, from wiggly puppies to seniors needing extra patience and support. Those experiences taught me how to adapt quickly, read animal behavior, and respond calmly in any situation. What really sets me apart is the way anxious or shy pets open up to me. Many families have told me, “Don’t be surprised if my dog keeps their distance,” only to come home and find their pup happily curled up at my side. Building that kind of trust — especially with nervous animals — is one of the things I love most about this work. I bring a calm, steady energy that helps pets feel safe, understood, and cared for like they’re my own. As a graduate student, most of my days are spent working from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility for walks, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day. And I’m happy to work from your home if I’m house sitting! On rare occasions when I have a longer day on campus (8 hrs), I will let you know before booking. That way, we can create a plan together to make sure your pet is cared for without interruption. My goal is to provide consistent, reliable care you can feel confident about. I treat every pet as if they were my own. At your home, I’ll respect your routines and preferences, making sure pets feel safe and secure in their familiar space. Safety is always my priority — I’ll keep a close eye during walks, follow your instructions carefully, and ensure your pets feel comfortable and cared for.
About: I love animals and I’ve always had pets. In 2020, when work went online, I started doing a lot of dog sitting and dog walking. I have experience with lots of different breeds and different needs. I currently have a senior dog, Bailey, who is an absolute angel. Bailey has some health issues so I have lots of experience with dogs who may have specialized diets or need medications. My daughter has an Australian shepherd, so I also have experience with dogs who may need some more structure when you are away. On top of dog care, I have experience with most other pets (cats, fish, gerbils, bunnies, guinea pigs, birds and even geckos) so if you have any other pets who need some care while you are away, I am able to. I am an assistant teacher, so during the school year, I follow the schools calendar but during the summer I am completely free. During the school year, I am able to care for your dog before and after the school day and always have weekends and federal holidays off if you are going away for a long weekend. During the summer, I’m very flexible with my time, and can easily help walk and care for pets, when you are busy at work or doing other things. I love animals and will make sure they get the best care possible! I will make sure they’re happy and well taken care of at all times. I will also always provide updates during a service or stay and communicate with you to ensure your pet is doing the best they possibly can.
“Courtney was awesome! She communicated well with me and sent pictures and updates that made me feel like my cats were being well taken care of. Thank you and I will be reaching back out!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life and have one of my own currently so I understand how nerve wrecking it can be leaving your pup in new hands! I ran my own dog walking, sitting & boarding business, worked at a doggy daycare & worked at a dog bakery so I have a great range of experience. I can’t wait to meet and care for your pup! I work from home all week which is what makes pet sitting so much easier. Having my own dog makes scheduling around their needs second nature! I love going on walks and getting the pets active to help get out some of their energy! I’ve used a lot enrichment toys with dogs I’ve watched and those are always super helpful.
About: I am a recent college graduate hoping to add to my savings before attending graduate school. I have been the primary caretaker of my cat, Cookie, for almost 7 years now and have grown up caring for small dogs. I am primarily knowledgeable in caring for cats and enjoy playing with, grooming (long-coated cats and nail trimming), feeding, and cleaning and providing a fresh litter box. I am familiar with walking small dogs, providing basic care and exercise. I’m currently working part-time with a hybrid schedule, I have a lot of time available in my schedule to care for your pets and have a wide availability. I can easily follow instructions and am happy to provide at-home care services for your cat or small dog. I can provide meals in a clean environment, regularly play with and provide exercise, and basic grooming.
Ballardvale cat parents share their Rover experiences
Walter was so courteous and showed up on time every day and I could tell me animals were taken care of. He even offered more support for the animals for an extended period when my travel was impacted by the snow. He came 2x a day for my dogs and played with them and even stayed extra time s few times, and was able to give them medications and feed them, along with my cats as well. He was also very communicative, and followed instructions. I can tell my animals are happy. I will be using Walter again!

Carina was great at taking care of Missy! She checked in on time each day and spent time playing with her, fed her, cleaned the litter box as we had requested her to. Our little Missy became comfortable with her on the first meet and greet itself. We will definitely hire her again when needed.

Ary did such a wonderful job with our cat while we were away for three weeks. Her communication was great, and she sent multiple pictures each day, which the kids loved seeing. I appreciated all the love and cuddles and care our pet received, we felt she was in very good hands!

Sarah took great care of my kitties. Unfortunately one of my cats became ill right before I left on vacation, and Sarah did a great job with the extra care around medicine and diet changes. She was great about sending updates and communication. One of my cats is really timid and she warned right up to Sarah.
