“Michael was great with our kitties (as always). The kitties were timely cared for and were also treated extra special with treats and playing at each visit. We trust Michael with our babies and will continue to seek his services in the future!”

“Chelsea has been a huge help. She is wonderful with our puppy, and it’s so reassuring to know our dog is loved and well cared for when we’re away. It’s clear she genuinely enjoys spending time with her. Chelsea is also very responsive and always willing to help, even with last-minute drop-ins. We couldn’t ask for better care”

“Jen is so amazing. We trust her implicitly with my animals that have included a 15-year-old dog with medical issues, a fear aggressive rescue dog and two cats that love to try to escape the house. She is extremely communicative and loves the animals as if they are her own. I never worry when I am away and she is taking care of my crew. Can not recommend her highly enough!”

“Ashley came over to meet Pippa prior to the drop in visits. She’s so pleasant and has experience with rescue dogs. She follows up with pictures after each visit. I highly recommend her.”

“Walter was so courteous and showed up on time every day and I could tell me animals were taken care of. He even offered more support for the animals for an extended period when my travel was impacted by the snow. He came 2x a day for my dogs and played with them and even stayed extra time s few times, and was able to give them medications and feed them, along with my cats as well. He was also very communicative, and followed instructions. I can tell my animals are happy. I will be using Walter again!”

“Adele was awesome! She arrived either on time or early to each of the scheduled appointments and checked in upon arrival. She gave us thorough reports on how Mickey behaved and the activities they did during the drop-in visits. She was even accommodating to our last-minute scheduling change, which was very much appreciated as well. Highly recommend Adele to anyone in the area!”

“Hannah is awesome. Flexible, consistent, great with the pets. She is great at communicating and filling us in on how everyone is doing when we are on trips, and leaves you with a peace of mind that is invaluable when you are away. We will continue using her for both our dog and cat needs,”

“Jeanne was great and very responsive. I had full confidence my cats were being well cared for while I was away. I would definitely recommend Jeanne and hope to reschedule her services for future dates.”

About: A few years ago, I visited Aruba and rescued a dog from New Life for Paws. I brought him through the airport and plane in a small carrier bag. I was able to foster him for a few weeks and send him off to his forever home. However, my entire life I have had a strong passion for dogs and have always found myself drawn towards them whether it’s in the street or even just visiting a friends house! Although I don’t have a dog of my own right now, I have grown up around dogs and animals my entire life. I have spent mostly every summer from when I was born at my grandpa’s farm which has a variety of animals; chickens, dogs, cats, and lots of cows. I also have plenty of experience dogsitting and walking dogs for my family and friends. As a young adult who is a junior at the University of Denver, I have free time to care for pets! The daily exercise for dogs is also a good way to implement it into my daily life as well! I’m not in this for the money but more so to prioritize your animal and their well-being. I am free seven days of the week and will work around my school schedule to make time for your beloved animal:) As someone who loves to hike, I love having a furry companion with me. Whether your dog can walk for miles or even just a block, I’m willing to do whatever it takes for them!
“Collette is the best. She responds quickly to requests and is always willing to help. She has taken such great care of our french bulldog and we would never hesitate to hire her again! She leaves great notes and pictures, especially when she thinks our pup is having an “off” day. You can tell she really enjoys working with pets.”

“Jordyn was extremely easy to work with and understanding when circumstance changed. Wish we’d been able to complete our reservation with her as scheduled, but again, appreciate her humanity and understanding when we needed to cancel. Round recommend Jordyn to be others, wholeheartedly.”

“Ann Marie was an amazing sitter for our two kitties! My first time using a sitter but she made the process seamless and gave us peace of mind. She even took time to take photos and give them treats. Couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely rebook next time we leave for vacation.”

“Henry was terrific! Great communication, photos and videos, and flexibility! He was a pleasure to deal with and my cat, who is nervous around men, adjusted to him well. I would definitely recommend Henry.”

About: I have worked at a cat boarding facility for the better part of five years. I have many pets and experience with the following; medicine administration, injecting insulin, monitoring the cats’ health and appetite, cleaning, and making sure each and every cat got the adequate attention they needed. In addition to this I have also pet sat for dogs and cats for years. Most of customers were regulars and I got to get to know each animal very well. I have also had both a dog and a cat my whole life, so I know what it is like to not only constantly care for a pet, but also love and worry about them, which is why I take such pride in ensuring my customers have complete peace knowing I will care for their pets! I am a college student and am available most afternoons, but have more freedoms Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the weekends. My schedule can be very flexible though. My main concern in caring for pets is their health and safety. I will always make sure they are doing well and have all the care they need in that aspect. I also will make sure they are happy and receiving the attention from me they need. I will always follow any and all instructions left on caring for pets.
“Jaclyn was great with our 5 cats! She was really attentive to the details and very proficient. Over the course of the week she even managed to win over our shy guy. We will definitely have her back?”

About: I’ve been fostering dogs for the last four years! Even during my crazy college schedule I made it a priority to spoil all my foster pups! When I was too busy for a full time foster, I’d take the local shelter dogs on walks for a shelter break! Currently looking for a full time position, so my schedule is super flexible! Let me know whenever you need help and I’ll reply as soon as possible. I always make sure to stick to the sidewalk when walking pets and maintain a safe distance from the road and from other animals! It’s also crucial to me that I leave your home in the condition I found it, with no mess left behind!
About: I’ve cared for pets for my whole life, including cats, dogs, and exotic pets such as frogs, lizards and birds. I’ve also been trusted as a dog walker and cat-sitter by family friends, coworkers, and teachers. I hope to get the chance to meet your beloved pets! I’m a college student free for the summer, so I will have very open availability during the entire week! I am glad to make multiple visits if needed. I can easily handle your pet’s food, bathroom and comfort needs. This includes feeding and administering medications, taking your pet out for walks/bathroom breaks, litter box cleanings, keeping their surroundings tidy and returning them to a crate if needed.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Boxford
Olivia is exactly what I always look for in a sitter - responsive, timely, flexible (I had to keep changing my departure time and she was totally understanding!) and most importantly, so great with taking care of my cat, Franklin. Traveling is so much more enjoyable when I know someone is taking great care of him and treating him like their own. Would totally recommend her to anyone!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boxford. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
