“Nick is wonderful!! He takes great care of our pup and not just walks him but takes him playing in the park sometimes!! We really like working with him!! Thank you so much, Nick!”

“Contentious, thoughtful, on time and compassionate about animals. John has a mellow demeanor that puts dogs at ease and is attentive and understanding of my reactive dog’s quirks. I would definitely recommend to friends and hire again! Thank you, John!”

About: I've grown up with big dogs and am now a dog and cat mom. Before my dog I boarded friends' dogs with me, watching them while they were away. My big dog is from the shelter and is fearful, so I have experience with shy shelter dogs, training, and managing their triggers. I also walk others' dogs. My schedule is flexible and is different depending on the day of the week. Communication is key , but I will try to make things work. At clients' homes I will follow their instructions and communicate any questions. I make sure the doors are locked when I leave, and try to be careful entering so animals don't potentially run away. Depending on instructions or pet temperaments, I will observe and work with them for enrichment and socialization needs. I make sure there is enough water in the bowls and feed as needed. For cats, I clean the litterboxes. They will not be in my home since I have pets.
“Laura was an amazing sitter for my high-energy Vizsla, Ava! She was super kind, friendly, and communicative throughout the entire process. Ava had a fantastic time, and I could tell she was well cared for. Laura took her on a great, engaging walk that left her happy and tired—no small feat for a Vizsla! I really appreciate her attentiveness and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Jazminn is great! Rilo has so much fun on her walks. I really appreciate how well Jazminn communicates. Her updates are helpful in that she lets me know if she and Rilo need anything for the walks. I really appreciate that. I feel very secure in knowing that my senior pup Rilo is in experienced hands.”

“Becca is awesome! I really appreciate her flexibility in our schedule and her reliable communication! On dog walking days she always sends pictures and a report card so I know how my pup did. On the days we come home after our dog has been on a walk with Becca he is always so happy and relaxed! I would totally recommend her services!”

“Michelle is fabulous with Cami. Cami has been really scared of strangers recently, and Michelle has done amazing trying to get cami to trust her. Highly recommend working with Michelle, especially if you have an angsty dog!”

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I'm here to give you a seamless and easy pet sitting experience, caring for your babies as if they were my own. I've cared for all sorts of dog combinations, from solo to four at a time, healthy to healthyish to in the middle of a ruff time & managing all the special care, vet visits, and medications that come with it. I'm newer to cats, but adept in picking up on their cues and keeping up with all the many details passed along when pet parents put their babies in my care! As far as care & training philosophy, I believe only in a positive reinforcement environment and follow the owner's cues to make sure your babies are as comfortable with me as with you, without adding any confusion! In my professional career, I am a data and details person, skilled in managing spreadsheets and projects with all sorts of details, and I bring that detailed care to everything I do, including monitoring all aspects of your pet(s)' safe and loving care with me 💕 Flexible and adaptable schedule to your needs, as I live by myself and am currently in between jobs focusing on personal entrepreneurial projects. Based in Oakland, I have a car and am frequently traveling around the Bay Area, especially into SF and the Lamorinda area. You are the expert of your space and pets, and I take cues and direction from you to ensure every aspect of your pet(s)' care is accounted for (also have spent the last 7 years working in accounting!). My time with your pet(s) should feel as comfortable as if a trusted family member or friend is watching your babies, with all the extra love and attention you like to provide, including whatever recreation keeps your pet(s) happy. At a baseline, I ensure all the important needs and details are managed as if you were around, with as-frequent updates as you need to feel comfortable and connected while you are away. I'm a skilled communicator and multitasker (taking pics while walking multiple dogs) and happy to provide whatever silly/cute/direct updates of your pet(s)' care work for you.
“Chris and Krby were fast friends The walks in our neighborhood were different each day mixing things up and each was accompanied by really great photos. Chris has a really positive energy and clearly loves taking care of dogs! He's earned the top spot on our caretaker list.”

About: Hi! I’m Jaidah — a proud dog mom and total animal lover 🐾 Spending time with dogs is genuinely one of my favorite things, and I know how important it is to feel confident that your pup is safe, happy, and well cared for when you’re away. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, energy level, and routine, so they get exactly what they need — whether that’s a relaxed sniff-filled stroll, a brisk walk, or a fun run to burn off some zoomies. Safety, consistency, and positive vibes always come first! I treat every dog like they’re my own (because honestly, they deserve nothing less), and I’d love the chance to give your pup all the care, attention, and love they deserve. 🐶💛 I build walks, playtime, cuddles, and meal breaks right into my daily rhythm, so dogs always feel safe, happy, and loved. Some days we’re strolling around the neighborhood, other days it’s zoomies at the dog park or cozy snuggle time on the couch. I follow each dog’s schedule, energy level, and personality, so they get exactly what they need. 🥰 Patiences, consistency, and attention to their individual needs! I always follow the instruction a pet owner provides. From walk routines, feeding schedule, medication, and any other specifics. Dog walking: I like to ensure that your animal has the appropriate gear needed to have a safe and enjoyable walk. Whether that’s an adjusted harness, footies, coat, retractable leash, and treats/water for longer walks. I am a paws wiper after walks :) Sitting: I ensure they feel safe and welcoming! My home is clean and free from any hazards. My furniture is their furniture! They will be given attention, warmth, and care. I like to keep all owners updated throughout the stay as well! You can expect updates from me on a consistent basis 😌
“Alexandria took great care of Duke on daily walks throughout the week. She is very reliable and was responsive to changes in our schedule as well. Would highly recommend her and will book again!”

About: I have been caring for pets, mostly cats and dogs but also an occasional rabbit/fish, since I was around 8 years old. I helped care for my own cats and dogs as well as pet-sat for my neighbors. I have experience with a huge variety of pets in terms of age, personality and health. I have helped birth 4 litters of puppies, have nursed both young and old rescue dogs and cats back to health, have loved and cared for my own older dogs and cats until the end of their lives, and have bottle fed kittens and puppies. I have experience washing and enriching dogs and cats and am also an avid runner and love to run with dogs. I often take my neighbor’s Doberman on runs with me and also have experience running small dogs and walking dogs that cannot walk fast or far and need extra patience and attention. As a passionate animal lover, I have worked with and loved dogs and cats that are old and young, healthy and ailing, cuddly and unfriendly (including feral cats), outgoing and shy. I am dedicated to meeting your pet where they are and providing the attention, care and love that they deserve. I currently work from home and available days/nights. I have one cat (who can be easily put in a separate room if a kitty or stays over at my house). I am home in the mornings and evenings for feeding time and have a very flexible schedule that allows me to pay a lot of attention to pets. I live in a duplex, my unit is a one bedroom that is quiet, safe and pet-friendly. I do allow dogs on my bed but am happy to enforce whatever rules you prefer while I am caring for your fur baby. I have an unfenced yard and live one block away from a great park. I can easily crate your pet if need be as well. I am happy to follow whatever rules you have for your pet in your home.
About: Young college student, patience, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I provide individualized care based on each dog’s age, energy level, and needs. I’m experienced with puppies who need structure and consistency, as well as senior dogs who require gentle walks, medication reminders, and extra attention. Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine because I have an open and flexible schedule. This allows me to accommodate walks, drop in visits, and sitting at various times throughout the day. I can adjust my availability to meet your pet’s specific needs, including weekdays, weekends, and short-notice requests. I care for pets by following their usual routines to help them feel safe and comfortable. In a client’s home, I provide feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and lots of attention while keeping the space clean. I closely follow instructions for training, medications, and special needs, and I always prioritize safety, patience, and positive reinforcement.
About: I grew up with a Beagle named Sadie and two cats, Buster and Snowy. Spent many weekends as a child and teen watching my neighbor's and family member's cats and dogs. I would love to help you meet your pup's needs through exercise and play, and happy to help out with any special conditions or medications. While I don't have any official training experience, I am comfortable working with dogs on little tricks and commands. I also have experience working with dogs that have high prey drives and a lot of energy. I live in Rockridge and am currently unemployed, so I am a free agent to walk or care for dogs/cats any time throughout the day. I’m not currently able to host pets in my own home, but I’m more than happy to care for them in your home. I take time to learn each pet’s routine and integrate smoothly into their environment so they feel safe, comfortable, and secure. Whether your pet is more "chill" or needs more hands-on and frequent attention, I aim to maintain the structure and level of care your pet is used to - that means extra walks throughout the day, playtime and enrichment activities, specific mealtime rituals, or just hanging out and giving them plenty of love until you return! :)
About: I promise to work closely with you and your pet to meet their needs best, ensuring they are comfortable and happy! I love all kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, birds, etc., and I will take care of your furry babies like they're my own :) I have grown up around animals my entire life, so I’m familiar with how to care for them at any stage, including puppy training and senior care. Just let me know what you need! I have a flexible work-from-home schedule that can easily adapt to your and your pet’s needs. I can take your pet out for potty breaks as often as hourly during the day if necessary, and I can accommodate other needs such as frequent feeding, administering oral medication, and grooming! I live in a secure apartment complex, which would be suitable for small to medium-sized dogs and cats. There are no other pets in the apartment, so it would be great for pets that prefer to be housed alone! Please let me know when booking beforehand if your pet does not get along with other animals, so I know not to house another pet during your pet's stay :) Please provide food, leash, bed/crate, brush, litter, litter box/wee-wee pads, and anything else your pet might need if necessary/applicable. I live with my partner Sam, who also works from home, and he is a huge animal lover, having grown up with dogs and cats his entire life as well :) I can ensure that your pet will be in a safe, friendly, and loving environment during their stay, and that your pet will rarely need to be alone, as there is usually always at least one of us at home! Please note that we also have a few houseplants in our apartment that are not fatal if ingested, but in large amounts might cause discomfort for your pet. Let me know if your pet has a habit of getting into/eating/chewing plants, even if you are unsure about it! These plants can easily be moved into out-of-reach spots or completely removed for your pet's safety and comfort.
Longfellow dog parents share their Rover experiences
It was such a pleasure having John look after our dog for us. He’s great at communicating, reliable, and our dog really enjoyed time with him. John took the time to understand our dog’s (and our) preferences and made sure to keep our dog’s routine consistent while we were away. We would absolutely love to work with John again and highly recommend his services!

My favorite walker. Has come through for us time and time again. Even after long hiatuses of using Rover, we’ve been able to reach out to Jesse and get a timely response. And even if not available when we ask last second sometimes, he is responsible/reliable and we are usually able to work out future dates. Highly recommend.

I’m so happy that we chose David to walk our dog for two weeks while we were away! He was super attentive and kind to our dog. Loved every update of their walks including, our dog’s demeanor and what each walk entailed. He went the extra mile to care for him. Our pup got extra love and a nice treat for the holidays! Really appreciate his kindness and help while we felt at ease that our dog was in great hands with David. Highly recommend him!

Padraic is an exceptional dog walker—responsible, patient, dedicated, flexible, and completely trustworthy. Our almost 3-year-old dog is a rescued and very skittish pup who is incredibly sweet and affectionate but needs a lot of time to feel comfortable with new people and new surroundings. In the beginning, she barked at him constantly and hesitated during the first several walks, but Padraic never rushed her. With his calm, gentle, and friendly manner, he gradually earned her trust and helped her relax. Padraic consistently goes above and beyond to make sure our dog feels safe and comfortable, and he has always been accommodating to our needs. We feel very lucky to have found him. I highly recommend Padraic without hesitation, and we will absolutely be asking for his walking services again and again!

Zoe was flexible and despite a hiccup in our initial meet and greet plan, made a second trip out to meet Scout. She has a special touch as she was able to get our very shy dog to get in the harness to be walked on day 3 which is very rare! Zoe was understanding of our many rules for picking up Scout which was so appreciated!
