“Becca has done multiple walks for my dog Phoenix and he's had a wonderful time. She's on time, kind, and flexible with our schedule. I highly recommend her for your dog walks!”

About: Hello, my name is Heather. I’m an Oakland based animal care giver & artist. Offering dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight care. I’m most experienced with cats, dogs, ferrets and bunnies, but have a love for all in the animal kingdom. I once trained a fighting pit bull into a licensed assistance dog. It was exhausting but so fulfilling! I like to spend my free time creating art, walking the beach and hiking. Does your lonely pet enjoy this type of environment? Let’s meet up! I can’t wait to meet you & your furry friend 🐾 As a freelance artist, I enjoy a flexible schedule that allows me to provide attentive, dependable pet care with plenty of time for walks, play, and companionship. Your pets deserve safe, loving, and reliable care. 5 Star care- attentive, and trustworthy, I provide peace of mind while keeping your furry family happy, secure, and comfortable.
“Yen Ning was able to work with me on short notice to walk my bigger dog, who can be reactive. She was able to handle my loud dogs and provide really great updates! Communication is really great and I will definitely continue using her services!”

“Erika is an excellent human being and fine dog walker. She shows up on time and gives my little dog the exercise she needs. She is sensitive to Annie's quirks. I completely trust her and feel very fortunate to have Erika helping me with my pup.”

About: I've grown up with big dogs and am now a dog and cat mom. Before my dog I boarded friends' dogs with me, watching them while they were away. My big dog is from the shelter and is fearful, so I have experience with shy shelter dogs, training, and managing their triggers. I also walk others' dogs. My schedule is flexible and is different depending on the day of the week. Communication is key , but I will try to make things work. At clients' homes I will follow their instructions and communicate any questions. I make sure the doors are locked when I leave, and try to be careful entering so animals don't potentially run away. Depending on instructions or pet temperaments, I will observe and work with them for enrichment and socialization needs. I make sure there is enough water in the bowls and feed as needed. For cats, I clean the litterboxes. They will not be in my home since I have pets.
“Alexandria took great care of Duke on daily walks throughout the week. She is very reliable and was responsive to changes in our schedule as well. Would highly recommend her and will book again!”

“David was such a fantastic walker for our dog Nico- he came to do a practice walk beforehand and was super thorough, making sure he had all the info he needed from us. David was always communicative and punctual, and clearly took great care of Nico. Highly recommend!”

“Cindy was my first rover walker and she did not disappoint! She was responsive and followed directions. My pup is overly excited when meeting new people and Cindy did great. Thank you Cindy for taking good care of my lulu. I definitely recommended her and will be booking Cindy from now on.”

About: I’ve been raising a very cute black pug for four years. For some reason, I couldn’t bring him with me and I miss him a lot. I really love dogs, so I’d love to do some dog-related work in my free time. I’m happy to let dogs on the sofa or bed, since I always clean them up after walks to make sure both they and the environment stay clean. I’ve spent time with many different dogs, including some that were initially unfriendly. By offering treats, approaching them slowly, and taking the time to get to know them, I was able to build trust. I’m very patient with dogs! From Monday to Friday, I’m usually out for 2–4 hours a day, but I’m home all day on weekends. During my free time, I’m happy to take dogs out to play. 1. Diet: I carefully control meal portions and feeding times, and always make sure dogs stay hydrated—especially in hot weather. After walks, I wait 5–10 minutes before giving them water. 2. Hygiene: I clean eye discharge promptly and keep both the dogs and their environment clean. 3. Exercise: I walk dogs 2–3 times a day. 30min/walk. 4. Playtime: In my free time, I love playing fetch, tug-of-war, or hide-and-seek with them. 5. Companionship: I spend as much time with them as possible. 6. Safety on walks: Dogs are always leashed outside. I stay alert when they interact with other dogs and separate them immediately if there are signs of aggression. I also make sure they don’t eat things off the ground, and I always clean up after them. 7. Sleeping: I used to sleep with my own dog, so if your dog is used to that, they’re welcome to join me too.
“Erik is so great with my dogs! He’s very patient and is able to handle both of them even though they have different walking temperaments- One wants to stop and sniff everything and the other wants to run😁”

“Contentious, thoughtful, on time and compassionate about animals. John has a mellow demeanor that puts dogs at ease and is attentive and understanding of my reactive dog’s quirks. I would definitely recommend to friends and hire again! Thank you, John!”

About: Hi! My name is Stephanie and I have been pet sitting for over 15 years. My love of animals has led me to initially start looking after family and friend's critters to wanting to help others as a way to care for their pets when they're busy or unable to. I have cared for both cats, dogs, even a pig, ranging from young to old. Currently, I provide daily check-ins to see how pets are doing. I also provide walks and play time so they get some engagement and aren't lonely while their owners are away on business or vacation or just busy with work. If you are looking for someone to help you with a walk, a check-in, or play time, please don't hesitate to contact me! I'm currently funemployed so my schedule is extremely flexible. For drop-ins, I drop in once in the morning at 8:30am and/or again in the evening at 6:30pm. For walks, they would be during middle of the day at around 1pm. Prior to an service, I try to communicate with pet owners about anything I should know. I prefer to over communicate to make sure everyone is on the same page and that I have everything I need to make every visit, stay, or walk successful. When visiting a client's home, I allow pets to come up to me first so they can get acquainted with me. I don't force interaction since that can break down trust. If any of the pets have soiled or damaged anything on the property, I'd document it, send it to the client, then clean up any mess. Whether I'm staying at someone's house or doing drop-ins, I give each pet lots of love and attention in the form of pets, belly rubs, and playing games with them. If they are skittish, I tend to let them approach me when they feel comfortable.
About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have a few years of experience helping take care of them. I’ve helped friends, neighbors, and family with walking, feeding, and general care. I’m available anytime on weekends and from noon to 3pm Monday through Friday. I have a consistent schedule and am very reliable during these times. I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment for pets. I will follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, and any specific instructions you provide. I make sure your pet feels comfortable and well cared for while always keeping the area clean and secure. I’m respectful of your space and will communicate with updates if needed.
“I realized at the last minute that I would be out all day and connected with Supriya to take our dogs out for a midday walk. Supriya was super responsive, kept me updated with photos, and took the dogs out for a nice, long walk at the time we agreed to. I'll definitely have her back when the need arises and would wholeheartedly recommend her.”

Golden Gate dog parents share their Rover experiences
I can’t recommend Karly enough. She is quick to respond, always on time, and my pup loves walking with her! She has even been able to accommodate last minute requests on such a short notice. I can relax a bit at work knowing my pup is in good hands when she is scheduled to walk with Karly.

We’re repeat clients of John’s and continue to work with him because he’s fantastic with our dog and an all-around great human. He cares for our pet as if he was his own, and that has led to developing a level of trust that’s hard to come by. As always, we highly recommend John if you’re considering contacting him.

It was wonderful to be able to count on Natalie to help us with three walks over the holiday weekend! Our dog, Grover, is anxious around new people and dog reactive. Natalie was happy to take things very slowly with him until he was comfortable and gave me lots of updates. She definitely went the extra mile (sometimes literally) to make sure he got out on a nice walk and was well taken care of. It was a huge relief to find someone we could trust, which allowed me to relax while away. We will definitely be reaching out to Natalie soon to book more walks!

I needed a dog walker for my young working line German shepherd. My husband was staying home with the dogs while I visited my family, but he can’t walk far enough or fast enough to keep my baby entertained and exercised. I was delighted that Shuhan wasn’t deterred by barking when he arrived for a meet-and-greet, so we booked him. He arrived on time every day, didn’t mind dealing with foxtail nets, and returned her ready for a nap. We will definitely call him next time!

Enzo is a gem! I appreciated their flexibility to arrange a meet and greet since my dog is selective about the dogs she likes. One thing that struck me on Enzo's profile was that they understand the importance of mental enrichment and positive reinforcement for dogs; Enzo's pup Arlo seems super smart and engaged and I'm excited for Naya to be cared for by someone so invested in dog behavior and science. Naya's first walk with Enzo and Arlo reassured me that Enzo would be an excellent, attentive caregiver for Naya. I look forward to working with Enzo more!
