About: For 5 years I worked at a dog daycare with all kinds of canines! For most of my time there, I was an overnight caretaker, solely responsible for anywhere between 5-99 dogs. I’ve worked with pups of all ages, many breeds, and many needs. Before that, I spent my teenage years volunteering at a local shelter, where I walked and cuddled dogs from all walks of life, and got the hang of getting nervous newcomers out of their shell. And it’s not just dogs I love, but all kinds of critters big and small! About: I've grown up with big dogs and am now a dog and cat mom. Before my dog I boarded friends' dogs with me, watching them while they were away. My big dog is from the shelter and is fearful, so I have experience with shy shelter dogs, training, and managing their triggers. I also walk others' dogs. My schedule is flexible and is different depending on the day of the week. Communication is key , but I will try to make things work. At clients' homes I will follow their instructions and communicate any questions. I make sure the doors are locked when I leave, and try to be careful entering so animals don't potentially run away. Depending on instructions or pet temperaments, I will observe and work with them for enrichment and socialization needs. I make sure there is enough water in the bowls and feed as needed. For cats, I clean the litterboxes. They will not be in my home since I have pets.

I really love dogs, so I’d love to do some dog-related work in my free time. I’m happy to let dogs on the sofa or bed, since I always clean them up after walks to make sure both they and the environment stay clean. I’ve spent time with many different dogs, including some that were initially unfriendly. By offering treats, approaching them slowly, and taking the time to get to know them, I was able to build trust. I’m very patient with dogs! From Monday to Friday, I’m usually out for 2–4 hours a day, but I’m home all day on weekends. During my free time, I’m happy to take dogs out to play. 1. Diet: I carefully control meal portions and feeding times, and always make sure dogs stay hydrated—especially in hot weather. After walks, I wait 5–10 minutes before giving them water. 2. Hygiene: I clean eye discharge promptly and keep both the dogs and their environment clean. 3. Exercise: I walk dogs 2–3 times a day. 30min/walk. 4. Playtime: In my free time, I love playing fetch, tug-of-war, or hide-and-seek with them. 5. Companionship: I spend as much time with them as possible. 6. Safety on walks: Dogs are always leashed outside. I stay alert when they interact with other dogs and separate them immediately if there are signs of aggression. I also make sure they don’t eat things off the ground, and I always clean up after them. 7. Sleeping: I used to sleep with my own dog, so if your dog is used to that, they’re welcome to join me too.

I currently have a sweet, friendly 1-year-old Australian Shepherd and have raised both a Samoyed and an Aussie from puppyhood.
