About: I've been taking care of cats since I was a child and I have been dog sitting family dogs since I was a teenager. Some of my priorities are making sure all furry friends are comfortable while they are away from family and learning their habits so that I can best support their needs. Being in the company of animals brings me great joy so I try to make their time with me as engaging and serene as possible. :) I'm a full time student with flexible schedule as I only attend lectures and can study from most places. Every day looks different for me but I tend to have free mornings and a big block of free time for lunch! I make sure their living space is safe and check their mood to see what steps to take to make sure they can rest comfortably every night. Some examples of safety for me include checking that no food that's toxic is left out, induction stoves locked, windows closed and emergency grooming done (like nail clipping if its uncomfortable for them, or brushing matted fur if its starting to show up, all done if the pet is used to it of course). I keep in mind their energy levels, bowel movements and make sure to communicate any significant change of behavior to pet parents :)
“Michelle is fabulous with Cami. Cami has been really scared of strangers recently, and Michelle has done amazing trying to get cami to trust her. Highly recommend working with Michelle, especially if you have an angsty dog!”

“Erika was absolutely lovely and we will definitely be walking with her again soon- and you should too! We really appreciate her accommodating our kooky training games as well as my rather last minute walk request. Our boy is happily napping now, very fulfilled by his walk thanks to Erika. She got a really, really, REALLY wonderful picture of our dog too. Thank you Erika! 🐾❤️”

About: I’ve been raising a very cute black pug for four years. For some reason, I couldn’t bring him with me and I miss him a lot. I really love dogs, so I’d love to do some dog-related work in my free time. I’m happy to let dogs on the sofa or bed, since I always clean them up after walks to make sure both they and the environment stay clean. I’ve spent time with many different dogs, including some that were initially unfriendly. By offering treats, approaching them slowly, and taking the time to get to know them, I was able to build trust. I’m very patient with dogs! From Monday to Friday, I’m usually out for 2–4 hours a day, but I’m home all day on weekends. During my free time, I’m happy to take dogs out to play. 1. Diet: I carefully control meal portions and feeding times, and always make sure dogs stay hydrated—especially in hot weather. After walks, I wait 5–10 minutes before giving them water. 2. Hygiene: I clean eye discharge promptly and keep both the dogs and their environment clean. 3. Exercise: I walk dogs 2–3 times a day. 30min/walk. 4. Playtime: In my free time, I love playing fetch, tug-of-war, or hide-and-seek with them. 5. Companionship: I spend as much time with them as possible. 6. Safety on walks: Dogs are always leashed outside. I stay alert when they interact with other dogs and separate them immediately if there are signs of aggression. I also make sure they don’t eat things off the ground, and I always clean up after them. 7. Sleeping: I used to sleep with my own dog, so if your dog is used to that, they’re welcome to join me too.
About: Hi! My name is Stephanie and I have been pet sitting for over 15 years. My love of animals has led me to initially start looking after family and friend's critters to wanting to help others as a way to care for their pets when they're busy or unable to. I have cared for both cats, dogs, even a pig, ranging from young to old. Currently, I provide daily check-ins to see how pets are doing. I also provide walks and play time so they get some engagement and aren't lonely while their owners are away on business or vacation or just busy with work. If you are looking for someone to help you with a walk, a check-in, or play time, please don't hesitate to contact me! I'm currently unemployed so my schedule is mostly available. For drop-ins, I drop in once in the morning at 8:30am and once again in the evening at 6:30pm. For walks, they would be during middle of the day at around 1pm. When visiting a client's home, I would first check to make sure the animals are ok and that no destruction was made to the home. After that, I would make sure that they get lots of love and exercise so they know they're cared for.
About: I was raised in a rural area surrounded by all kinds of animals, and we always had dogs and cats growing up. I have had the pleasure of dog and cat sitting numerous times over the years. I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and enjoy spending time with them. I'm new to the Bay Area and looking to devote my time to your pet's schedule. I'm looking forward to getting outside and exploring new neighborhoods with some furry friends. I focus on creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment for every pet in my care. I stick closely to their pet’s normal routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications to help them feel secure and stress-free. I’m attentive to instructions, respectful of the home, and make sure doors, gates, and leashes are always secure.
About: As a lifelong animal lover, I'm here to give you a seamless and easy pet sitting experience, caring for your babies as if they were my own. I've cared for all sorts of dog combinations, from solo to four at a time, healthy to healthyish to in the middle of a ruff time & managing all the special care, vet visits, and medications that come with it. I'm newer to cats, but adept in picking up on their cues and keeping up with all the many details passed along when pet parents put their babies in my care! As far as care & training philosophy, I believe only in a positive reinforcement environment and follow the owner's cues to make sure your babies are as comfortable with me as with you, without adding any confusion! In my professional career, I am a data and details person, skilled in managing spreadsheets and projects with all sorts of details, and I bring that detailed care to everything I do, including monitoring all aspects of your pet(s)' safe and loving care with me 💕 Flexible and adaptable schedule to your needs, as I live by myself and am currently in between jobs focusing on personal entrepreneurial projects. Based in Oakland, I have a car and am frequently traveling around the Bay Area, especially into SF and the Lamorinda area. You are the expert of your space and pets, and I take cues and direction from you to ensure every aspect of your pet(s)' care is accounted for (also have spent the last 7 years working in accounting!). My time with your pet(s) should feel as comfortable as if a trusted family member or friend is watching your babies, with all the extra love and attention you like to provide, including whatever recreation keeps your pet(s) happy. At a baseline, I ensure all the important needs and details are managed as if you were around, with as-frequent updates as you need to feel comfortable and connected while you are away. I'm a skilled communicator and multitasker (taking pics while walking multiple dogs) and happy to provide whatever silly/cute/direct updates of your pet(s)' care work for you.
About: I have lived with dogs and cats most my life and feel very fulfilled by interacting with them. Walking a dog brings joy to my day :). Reading in a chair with a cat in my lap or snoring nearby is very peaceful. I am responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. Happy to provide references - - you can find me on other sites that list my reviews. I have completed many overnight stays with pets. I work remotely and have a flexible work schedule, which gives me a lot of availability for pet visits. Nights and weekends are also free. I follow the lead of what is suggested by the pet owner: if a pet is required to stay within a gate on the bottom floor, for example. I always ask for an emergency contact number and a vet number just in case the pet owner is not available, in case something happens.
Gaskill dog parents share their Rover experiences
Christine is just the best! Great communication, always reliable and goes above and beyond. Our little fur baby just loves when Christine visits and it’s obvious how much care and love she brings to taking care of Chloe when we’re away. We can’t recommend Christine strongly enough.

Logan walked my little Boston Terrier and listened when I explained how scared and anxious my little guy gets when he sees bigger dogs. To help Xander through that, Logan would just pick him up and move him away from the other dog. After his walk Xander was worn out and very happy. I would recommend Logan to anyone who needed doggy care of any type.

Alexandria rescued me when my initial dog sitter I had lined up backed out at the last minute. I’m so thankful for her! She was super responsive and very easy to communicate with. I have a senior dog and he had an accident inside, and she cleaned it up with no hesitation. She followed my directions for feeding and sent photos to let me know he was okay. I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker and/or sitter! I’ll be booking her again soon for sure.

Derek is gentle, calm, and incredibly caring with my very shy, easily spooked dogs. My dog, Carter; warmed up to him quickly, and she looks happy and relaxed during their walks. My biggest priority is safety and making sure Carter’s boundaries are respected — she does not like unfamiliar people or dogs touching/approaching her. Derek truly cares about making my dogs feel comfortable.

I am very happy to have found Chloe on Rover. She's a super nice person, and my dog, Raffi, is in love with her. She's helped me out for 2 weeks, and she's been on time every day, gives good long walks, and always gives me a heads up when she's on her way. She's also flexible when I had to make some last minute changes in schedule. I highly recommend her for your dog walking needs. MY dog will miss her!
