Ash was a GREAT house and pup took care of Whitney for 10 days while we were away with tons of walks, meals and treats, cuddles and rubs and overnight stays, long walks and visits with her best dog friend, and even handled a contractor visit and an appliance installation! Both our home and our pup were in great shape when we got back- would recommend Ash for six stars if i could.

Alex is a trustworthy and dependable choice to take care of your loved ones and your home. The first time he was pet sitting my special needs dog, she became sick and required a lot of extra attention. During this time, Alex was proactive, comforting, and communicated exceptionally well. He cared for and comforted her until I was able to make it home. My house was left in tip top shape, and it was clear he respected my wishes while he stayed in my home. Alex is a sure thing, and will most definitely be invited back. Thank you Alex!

Holy moly, Nieves is awesome! From the meet and greet, through our trip, to our return, she provided first class service. She communicates so well, lots of fun updates and pics and cute collages of my pet, and post it notes about her last day before she left. She followed our care document to a T and took the best care of Daisy. I highly recommend and will be booking her again!

About: My passion for caring started with dolls and stuffed animals, but has grown from that to animals and children. I've had experience taking care of many animals in the past (turtles, bunnies, cats, and dogs) and have extended my experience with animals to outside the home doing volunteer work. I'm currently enrolled in college taking Early Childhood Education classes and love to fill up my free time by taking care of animals! I go to school part time, and am currently finishing up the semester, so I'll have plenty of time to care for your pet(s)! I'm very flexible and can work on most if not all days of the week or weekend. Any time too! Just let me know what you need at least a day in advance and I'll do my best to deliver. Safety is my top priority. I take everything into consideration, and I'm very curious about each individual pet. I look for anything that could be a potential hazard and pay close attention to the needs of each animal. I love to play games and spend quality time with animals. I love cooking and preparing meals, so I get that same joy when prepping meals for a pet as well.

Julie was amazingly flexible, as our schedule was unknown, and was there when we needed her. More importantly, she was good with Ricky, took him out for walks as well as for his sanitary needs, and kept us regularly informed, with pictures. If we are in the area again we will seek her to assist us, and Ricky, again.

We appreciated her excellent questions, skill, patience and forthright approach to leading him towards full exercise, calm homecomings and lots of fun in between. Thank you, Jaclyn!

Cam was nothing short of amazing! We have an old fuddy duddy cat who has never liked anyone except for us. However, the first night Cam spent at our house he was actively seeking pats from Cam! We even have photographic proof, thanks to Cam managing to snap a photo whilst actively petting him. We have another lovely petsitter who has literally been trying to make friends with Buster for 4 years and he still won't let her near him. Cam clearly has a magical touch.

About: I have Joyfully shared my entire life with pets for 70 years now!! I speak Fluent Feline and Canine and have been a pet parent to dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, turtles and fish as a child and provided daycare for birds. I am also a Certified Level ll Reiki Energy Practitioner. My services include Housesitting, Drop-ins and both dog and cat walking! My beloved Josie used to love going outside on a harness and leash since she and brother Shadow were feral-born barn kitties and then “indoor only” rescue pets for 15+ years! My “Platinum Spa” Services include pet massage and Reiki sessions for an additional fee for Housesitting and Drop In clients. My Passion to care for other people’s pets as a new career/business stems from the tragic loss of both my feline companions at the end of 2024. I have decided to no longer own pets myself and to get my “Pet Love Fixes” by Pampering My Client’s pets as if they were my own!! I have maximum flexibility with scheduling 24/7 for all services in the 5 Colleges Area of Western MA. I am also available to travel outside my local area to provide pet, plant and housesitting services upon request. I provide a full menu of services at client’s homes including multiple walks daily on leash, outings to local dog parks and hiking trails, specialized diets and medications, senior and disabled pet care, active playtime, basic training reinforcement, photos and text updates on how your pet is doing with each visit. About: Animals have always had a special place in my heart. My journey started with pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family in middle school and grew to volunteering at local animal shelters and working in a boarding kennel to currently working as a vet assistant while at school, pursing a pre-veterinary science degree, giving me experience with animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. At home I have a 14 year old beagle/boston terrier named Pepper who I just adore. I cannot wait to share my experience and love for animals with your pets while you are away :) As I am currently a junior pre-vet at UMass Amherst, my availability lies around my class schedule. I am available most evenings and weekends as well as most early mornings; however, my availability in the middle of the day is a little more limited. Feel free to reach out with times you were looking for, and I'd love to see if I can make it work! I understand that it can be strange for our pets when a new person comes in the house, so I encourage owners to reach out to schedule a meet and greet so I can meet your four legged friends before you are gone, making the process less stressful for everyone involved.

Molly was fantastic house sitting with our very anxious dog, especially on short notice as we had a family emergency and had to leave town for a few days. She dealt with medication, not easy walks and our instructions and tips. She communicated so well, left our house spotless and showed great care and concern for our dog. Thank you Molly!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Leeds

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Leeds on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 721 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Leeds. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Leeds walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Leeds maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Leeds choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Leeds. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
