About: I have Joyfully shared my entire life with pets for 70 years now!! I speak Fluent Feline and Canine and have been a pet parent to dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, turtles and fish as a child and provided daycare for birds. About: I'm a lover of play, exploration, rest, and relationship building -- with human and non-human creatures alike! I have 15+ years of experience tending to dogs of all sizes and temperaments, enjoy long walks as much as they do, and particularly enjoy sending photo updates to the families I sit for. I've been told I "play with dogs like they're [my] siblings" and that I'm both "a black cat and a golden retriever in spirit" -- all this to say, I get animals, and they get me. :) I'm currently working in a university counseling center, supporting students of all ages through the transitions of their lives. This is a typical 9-5 job (with one remote day/week coming Spring 2027) -- so I'd pair well with animals that can do okay on their own during work hours. I like to learn an animal's routines and do my best to replicate them during a sit, so as not to cause any anxious critter more stress. I have a good track record for reading an animal's body language and know when to give cuddles, when to give space, and when to know something's "off" that needs more serious attention.

We even have photographic proof, thanks to Cam managing to snap a photo whilst actively petting him. “Emily did a wonderful job with our special needs cat, Dakota. Dakota is paralyzed in the back after having been hit by a car years ago. He gets around ok dragging his back legs but he has to have his bladder expressed three times a day. Emily had experience doing this in the past (I think in some kind of vet assistant capacity or something like that) and successfully managed Dakota when we went out of town for a few days. Dakota stayed at Emily's house with her cats and it all worked out fine. Emily's house is so cat friendly with cat climbing things all around and Emily even mentioned that down the road she might have cat grass (that our cat loves to eat) since she grows it herself. We were also happy that Emily was fine with us leaving all Dakota's regular collection of favorite things: his little cat house, cat bed, and even the ramp we made for him to climb up on couches. It was so nice for us to think of Dakota in a friendly home rather than in a cage at the vet. We loved how Emily was great about communicating both in terms of photos showing Dakota was doing well and also asking intelligent questions to make sure the expressing of the bladder was going well. When we picked Dakota up, he was in fine shape and clearly had been well-taken-care of. We'll definitely use Emily again!”

About: Calm, quiet environment with a sitter who craves doggy time. My 12 year old black lab recently lost her fight with cancer. Not ready to bring home a new dog, but would love to care for your precious fur babies while you are away. I offer patience and attention to your canine's needs. I'm a human nurse but also experienced with dogs special needs such as insulin administration. I work Monday-Friday, Home on weekends. No young children. Available for walks, dog Parks (dog park with your approval), or hanging out in the yard secured on a 50 foot lead. Dogs are not left outside unattended. You're welcome to bring your pets favorite toy for us to use during their stay. Will try to keep them on your schedule for easy transition from home to sitter. I speak to animals as of they can respond. Days are better with happy pets! Friday drop-off at 5:30 pm. Sunday pick-up by 8:00pm. I have a large yard and a spacious house. Spend weekend around the house doing small projects, crafting or cleaning. It's a quiet, stress free household with a very flexible schedule. While I miss my own pet I'm looking to offer a love-centered environment similar to children visiting their favorite Aunties house.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was in elementary school. I would pet sit for friends and neighbors, along with work at vets office for a few years in college. I currently have a black lab named York with my partner. I work an 8-4 job Monday thru Friday, so I am available for early morning, afternoon, and evening check ins. Along with overnights and weekend availability. My focus is to treat your pet like they are my own. Which means good play time and making sure they get their meals on time. I am able to do walks, handle administration of medications, dietary requirements.

About: My dad taught me at a young age how to care for, and respect all animals. I have turned this into a life long love for all animals, both domestic and wild. I am a vet assistant, and currently studying to be a certified vet tech. For the last two years I have worked at the local animal shelter, and for the last year, at a dog daycare as well. I have volunteered at Dakin for the best part of the last 15 years. This has included transportation of animals, dog walking, animal socialization, and the kitten ICU. I am currently working part time, so I will have plenty of time for your furry family members. I am available during the week, on weekends, and holidays. Whether your dog likes the dog park, or playing in the backyard, we can play using their favorite toys. If they are more of a couch potato, I can accommodate them as well. If you have kitties that need company, we can play in the house, or go out for a stroller ride. I have a fenced in backyard for the dogs to play in. In the summer, a pool and water sprinkler will be available. I am a vet assistant, so I have first aid training for both dogs and cats. My house is air conditioned, perfect for relaxing on a summer day.
