“Janet did a great job with the pups and with the house. Janet sent photos every day and kept us informed as to how the dogs were fairing. Both the dogs and the house were in perfect condition when we returned home. Thank you so much!”

“Ash was wonderful with my anxious dog Charlie! Ash was so sensitive to reading Charlie's needs, took things slow, and within 24 hours they were fast friends! Ash was extremely communicative, providing multiple updates and pictures throughout the day. He took Charlie to his favorite dog park, and now we're going to pursue training with Ash to work on Charlie's confidence. The house was beautifully looked over as well. Cannot recommend enough across the board, but particularly if you have special needs dogs or a puppy who is anxious/with behavioral challenges.”

“Michael was great watching Bonnie while we were out of town! He took great care of her and provided updates each day. The house was perfect when we got back and Bonnie was so chill. Will definitely be reaching out for his help again!”

“Julie was amazingly flexible, as our schedule was unknown, and was there when we needed her. More importantly, she was good with Ricky, took him out for walks as well as for his sanitary needs, and kept us regularly informed, with pictures. If we are in the area again we will seek her to assist us, and Ricky, again.”

“Trista stayed overnight with our fur babies. She was so good with our 3 dogs. She put our mind at ease. She sent updates and pictures throughout the day. The pups were happy too :) Will definitely book again.”

“Paul provided me with such peace of mind while I vacationed for a week. She took excellent overnight care of Bailey and kept him on his usual routine! She sent sweet photo updates which put me at ease. She was very respectful of the house and left the house in excellent condition! She is trustworthy, dependable, conscientious and warm and friendly. I would definitely book with her again! Thanks so much Paul!”

“Lori’s service, taking care of my elderly cat, was remarkable. It became clear quite quickly that she was thinking of my cat’s welfare first and foremost. I’m inexperienced with having cat sitters staying the night in a house sitting capacity. Lori handled my cat’s needs as well as my general requests expertly - and I felt reassured. She exceeded my expectations, showing consideration by offering to do a task or two I hadn’t requested. All in all, she was lovely to work with. With Lori caring for my cat, I feel confident taking longer trips, knowing my cat will be so well looked after!”

“Cam was nothing short of amazing! We have an old fuddy duddy cat who has never liked anyone except for us. However, the first night Cam spent at our house he was actively seeking pats from Cam! We even have photographic proof, thanks to Cam managing to snap a photo whilst actively petting him. We have another lovely petsitter who has literally been trying to make friends with Buster for 4 years and he still won't let her near him. Cam clearly has a magical touch.”

About: Hi I'm Alyssa! I've owned dogs, cats, rabbits, and fish all my life. I love to care for any and all animals when their owners are away because pets can get very anxious when home alone. I intend to relieve their anxiety and share a little love! I do have previous experience with walking multiple dogs in both urban and suburban residences as well as caring for multiple cat homes. I've also worked with all ages of pooches, everything from 2 months to 15 years old! I currently work part time overnights, so I am available for daytime drop-ins and overnight stays, as I would only be at work a couple days a week for a few hours. The safety of your pet(s) is of the utmost importance, including keeping the doors of your house securely closed, keeping your house clean, and focusing solely on your pet(s) during any outside time.

About: Have owned dogs for over 20 years, pet sit for friends, family, and neighbors. I am over cautious and protective when it comes to animals, I'm also active so love walking dogs, throwing a ball for them, or taking them to our local lake for a swim. I have tons of patience for shy dogs, I have dealt with rescue dogs and know when to get close or not to an animal. I have never had an incident where I have had a dog become aggressive with me. I have taken my own dog to obedience school a few times and learned a few key trips for working with difficult dogs or puppies. I have taken care of puppies within the past three years and am comfortable with the extra care they require. I have a solid connection with our local vet and emergency animal hospital and am able to handle dogs who need shots or medications administered. I work from home and have several pets already needing care. Bathroom breaks, walks, ball throwing, catnip time, all of it already happens in my home. We have several pet fences within our home and a puppy proof first floor. If a pet is okay of leash then we walk them around our 4 acres throwing a ball or whatever the pet likes. If a pet is not okay off leash, then we just walk them on a leash on our land every 1.5 or 2 hours or as needed. Water bowls are everywhere, no chemicals are on site within reach of curious puppies, and no cars move very quickly on our driveway and everyone who does arrive at our home knows we have several pets and need to slow down. We have owned dogs for over 25 years and have never had any of our pets get injured.

About: I have Joyfully shared my entire life with pets for 70 years now!! I speak Fluent Feline and Canine and have been a pet parent to dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, turtles and fish as a child and provided daycare for birds. I am also a Certified Level ll Reiki Energy Practitioner. My services include Housesitting, Drop-ins and both dog and cat walking! My beloved Josie used to love going outside on a harness and leash since she and brother Shadow were feral-born barn kitties and then “indoor only” rescue pets for 15+ years! My “Platinum Spa” Services include pet massage and Reiki sessions for an additional fee for Housesitting and Drop In clients. My Passion to care for other people’s pets as a new career/business stems from the tragic loss of both my feline companions at the end of 2024. I have decided to no longer own pets myself and to get my “Pet Love Fixes” by Pampering My Client’s pets as if they were my own!! I have maximum flexibility with scheduling 24/7 for all services in the 5 Colleges Area of Western MA. I am also available to travel outside my local area to provide pet, plant and housesitting services upon request. I provide a full menu of services at client’s homes including multiple walks daily on leash, outings to local dog parks and hiking trails, specialized diets and medications, senior and disabled pet care, active playtime, basic training reinforcement, photos and text updates on how your pet is doing with each visit. My exclusive pet massage and Reiki treatments can enhance your pet’s health and happiness under my care!!
“Ryan did a nice job with my cat and dog and house sitting. He played ball with Louie and took him for walks each day. He kept to all their schedules and left our home just as we had left it. Thank you Ryan! We will book with you again in the future!”
“Alexis was absolutely amazing taking care of our dog and 2 cats! She pet-sat for us overnights for a week. During that time, she took our dog for daily walks in his favorite park, gave all the pets lots of love and sent tons of pictures and video, so we knew the pets were all doing well. We have a dog who worries and a scaredy cat, but they all seemed happy and comfortable with Alexis because of her calming nature and soothing manner. We are so glad we used Alexis's services and will definitely hire her again!”

“Leona was wonderful with Romeo - he was really calm and happy when I returned. She communicated well, sent updates with photos and left my home better than she found it. I’m booking her for another cat/housesit right now!”

“As always our dogs are so happy and love when Amad stays with them, they start wagging their tails when the suitcases come out. Amad is very attentive and walks them frequently throughout the day. He is very easy going and does a great job.”

“Shawna provided wonderful care for our two small dogs who require overnight company. We are very satisfied with Shawna's level of care and would like to rebook her services in the future!”
“My husband and I were leaving for our 10-day honeymoon when, just a week before our trip, our dogs virus acted up and he could no longer attend daycare as we had planned. We were so relieved to find Linda! She was incredibly communicative from the start and made herself available to lock everything in quickly, which gave us so much peace of mind before we left. While we were away, Linda sent us daily updates and photos of our pup, which we looked forward to every day. It was so reassuring knowing he was able to stay in the comfort of his own home and maintain his normal routine while Linda took such great care of both him and our house. Our 2.5-year-old Golden Retriever is full of energy, and Linda did an amazing job building a relationship with him and keeping him happy, active, and comfortable while we were gone. We came home to a happy dog and a well-cared-for home. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Linda to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter!”

About: Calm, quiet environment with a sitter who craves doggy time. My 12 year old black lab recently lost her fight with cancer. Not ready to bring home a new dog, but would love to care for your precious fur babies while you are away. I offer patience and attention to your canine's needs. I'm a human nurse but also experienced with dogs special needs such as insulin administration. I work Monday-Friday, Home on weekends. No young children. Available for walks, dog Parks (dog park with your approval), or hanging out in the yard secured on a 50 foot lead. Dogs are not left outside unattended. You're welcome to bring your pets favorite toy for us to use during their stay. Will try to keep them on your schedule for easy transition from home to sitter. I speak to animals as of they can respond. Days are better with happy pets! Friday drop-off at 5:30 pm. Sunday pick-up by 8:00pm. I have a large yard and a spacious house. Spend weekend around the house doing small projects, crafting or cleaning. It's a quiet, stress free household with a very flexible schedule. While I miss my own pet I'm looking to offer a love-centered environment similar to children visiting their favorite Aunties house.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Chesterfield
Janet was absolutely wonderful. This was the first time I have had a stranger in my home caring for my dogs. (I usually have friends/family care for them). She was very loving towards my two dogs and sent me pictures daily. She took great care of my home and was tidy and overall a lovely person. I will be using her anytime I need dog care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 548 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Chesterfield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Chesterfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Chesterfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Chesterfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
